Not sure it's worth the money
After staying at this home in Jan & Feb 2019, I felt there are some things worth writing about. The owner, Brian is very receptive to your needs and communicates via text almost immediately. I liked the way the house is set up with the two bedrooms on opposite ends of the house which allowed myself some space from my guests. The water pressure in both bathrooms was wonderful. The master bed was extremely comfortable but the spare bed needed a mattress topper. The house is stocked well but some of the towels and bedsheets are thin with holes and need to be replaced. The desk in the living room was a plus as I used it as a computer workstation - there was a convenient ceiling light/fan above. The neighbors are friendly and I felt safe. The house is in close proximity to shopping, beaches and restaurants. All good points aside, there are some things which need attention. The pool tiles inside the pool are in major need of new grouting. The dresser in the spare bedroom and the vanity in the master bedroom (floor is rotted) need to be replaced. The huge tree in the front yard creates quite a mess during March as it releases some type of seed formations and brown leafy things to the point I was blowing off the driveway every day and not parking my vehicle under it. The door between the house and garage needs to be sealed better - it doesn't close tight. The skimming pool net needs to be replaced as there are holes in it and there's a large hole in the wall under the kitchen sink that's being covered by a board and held on with duck tape only at the top. If you rent this home, be sure to ask to have the bar area cleaned and the pool area power-washed before your arrival. Brian did offer to have the cleaning crew come back in to clean the bar area, but since my stuff had already been loaded into the house, I didn't feel comfortable with that, so I cleaned it myself. I also hand scrubbed the pool area. If you need a double-car garage, be sure to ask to have the boards and lawnmowers moved out. Brian did offer to have them removed, but they really shouldn't have been there in the first place when it's advertised as a 2 car garage. To be honest, for the amount of money I paid to stay here for 2 months, I probably wouldn't stay here again unless the money was greatly reduced. I miss my neighbors though.
The house was furnished with everything we needed. It was clean and very comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. The pool was wonderful and it was nice to have the fenced in yard for our dog. Brian was very attentive to any questions we had. The location was perfect and we would definitely rent here again.
Great place in a perfect location
Quiet mature area to walk the dogs. Near everything that we needed (groceries, shopping, gas). Centrally locates so nothing too far away(Siesta Key, Sarasota, Myakka, Englewood, Bradenton). Brohard dog park/beach was 10 minutes away. Mike and Deb across the street were a wonderful help.
The few issues we did have , Brian responded immediately and things were taken care of quickly. We were there for the whole month of January- enjoyed ourselves
Will look again at this property if looking to stay in Venice area again
Loved it. The pool was great, Yard for the dogs, minutes to restaurants, shopping, and the beach, Quiet and safe neighborhood.
Great time spent at a great place
Built in the mid-1970's this home is very well maintained and they've clearly updated over the years. I must say that having a pool for the kids to use every day, being 15 minutes from the beach, and having a private garage to park the car are all high points. New and efficient washer and dryer were also a godsend.
We'd stay here again for sure.
Spacious, well equipped and close to amenities
Enjoyed our three weeks in Venice. The weather was not always the best but Brian's home had plenty of reading material, lots of movies and a big screen television. The home was spacious, clean and well equipped. Enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles on the table in the Florida room. Got to swim in pool several warm days. The neighborhood was great for walking our dog....plus the fenced in yard was great for when we went sightseeing and left the dog home. The property is so close to Tamiami Tr and that was great for getting around. Within two miles is a shopping center with everything including IHOP, Chili's, Panera and Outback. Walmart was nearby. Venice East golf course was just around the corner. My favorite beach was Manasota for shark's teeth, favorite area was Casy Key and while we ate at many great restaurants, my favorite restaurants were Blu Island Bistro and Mango Bistro. Bentley's gelato is good but the best was downtown Venice at Ciao Gelato. Loved Selby Botanical Gardens, Ringling Mueseum in Sarasota, and Ford/Edison estates in Ft. Myer. Mr. Mike across the street kept our yard clean after a few storms and gale force winds blew through. Thanks Mr. Mike.
