About Tim or Bobbie Nisbet
We were introduced to Greensboro in 1967 by Tim's fraternity house mother at U.V.M. We spent many wonderful weekends during our college years swimming in the lake, hiking, and exploring the area. When it came time to 'settle down', Greensboro presented an opportunity. We moved to the area in 1971, started the Greensboro Garage in the village, and in 1972 bought our first home where we still live three miles up the road. Living in a small rural town, raising our two children, provided multiple opportunities to give back to the community . Tim has been the town moderator for over 30 years and on numerous community boards and committees. He is an active EMT volunteer on the local rescue squad. Bobbie, a registered nurse, has volunteered as a member of many local boards, created the Senior Trotter Program to provide cultural and fun activities for seniors in our area. We both enjoy gardening, sailing, and touring on our Harley Davidson motorcycles during the summer. During the winter, we can be found skiing the cross country trails in town, when not hunkered down by the wood stove. The creative process of restoring and landscaping our current home has been a labor of love we have really enjoyed for over 40 years.

Why Tim or Bobbie Nisbet chose Greensboro
The Baker Hill House is a house we have passed on our way home for over 40 years. When it became vacant and we could see it falling into disrepair, we took a look and fell in love with it. It was a diamond in the rough and truly needed loving care to bring it into the 21st century while keeping it's simple charm. Here was a way we could share our wonderful town, it's incredible beauty, and it's offerings with others. Baker Hill House has evolved from a full working farm house early in the 19th century to a summer residence in the 1960's, to a family residence in the 80's & 90's. It is now on a path to welcoming travelers and providing them a place to rest, restore, and drink in the beauty of the area.

This home was absolutely charming. The hosts left us coffee and homemade bread. Beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have coffee and relax in the morning before we were out for the day!
So glad the house worked for you. I know what it is like to travel and having a comfortable place to stay is key to a positive travel experience. Please come back soon.
Peaceful, lovely escape
Tim and Bobbie’s vintage farmhouse is a sweet landing spot for families after all the Kingdom has to offer each day. It’s a cozy place to return for meals, games on the lawn, or evening walks, and is spacious enough to accommodate a family. Bobbie was always very responsive to communication.
Cycling Rest Day
Five bicycle tourists riding through Vermont and needing a day off spent two nights at the Yellow House. The house was exactly what we were looking for and super charming. Spotlessly clean, exactly as described on VRBO, and plenty of space for all of us. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the deck and waving to the occasional passing car. The proximity to Greensboro for supplies and Hill Farmstead for beer made the home super convenient. Highly recommended!
Thank you so much for your wonder comments. We are pleased the house met your needs. When taking time to rest relax and enjoy friends you don’t want to have to worry about the little incidentals. That is why we furnished and supplied the house with items you might not think about until you need them. Please come back and visit real soon. Every season is special here in Greensboro.

Comfortable and convenient
Owners Bobbie and Tim were gracious hosts. We told them we'd be arriving after dark and they left on lights for us and even left us some homemade breakfast treats. Since we arrived after all local stores were closed, we greatly appreciated that Bobbie and Tim left us hot chocolate, coffee, and cream. The house is on a quiet street a short drive to downtown Greensboro. We had a great view of the trees and stars and we enjoyed playing the board and card games. As a family with children, this house had all the amenities we needed to be comfortable. We hope we have the opportunity to return soon.
We are so pleased the house met your needs. Our intent, when renewing the house, was to make it into a place families could come and enjoy the area and have a comfortable place to enjoy each other. We welcome you back any time.

Heaven is in the Northeast Kingdom
If you want a peaceful and beautiful getaway with the flavor of Vermont living, this is the place! Remotely located up on the hill, this house is a quintessential New England home. Restored maintaining its natural and original charm, the house is very welcoming and so comfortable. Our family of five found the home to be well-equipped and cozy. Two bathrooms are a must for our gang, and this home had them! The country road led to many early morning and evening walks with fantastic views! The star gazing was amazing. The general store had offerings galore. We visited Waterbury, Stowe and Burlington and more! Of course, for beer lovers, Hill Farmstead, is a very close distant and is a beautiful place to go for a picnic. Our visit was in late May and it was such a treat to watch nature bloom in Vermont. Our hosts were excellent communicators and more than willing to assist with any of our needs; although we had none because the amenities and a well-equipped home. Thank you for allowing us to make more family memories! The Parent Family of Massachusetts and Virginia
It's a beautiful location and house
We think that the house was beautifully maintained and it was in a wonderful location. It wasn't too far from town, but far enough to feel surrounded by nature.

Greensboro is centrally located to many major towns. Our village offers a well stocked library which hosts a children's story time in the winter and many activities in the summer. Our small town boasts summer theater, concerts, a lecture series, and the wonderful 'Funky Fourth' of July parade and festival. A local brewery is a mile up the road from the Baker Hill House. Caspian Lake beach is a little over a mile down the road offing a boat launch, swimming and picnicking, Willeys Store, a well known century-old country store located near the beach, has anything you may need. A fine local artisan craft store is open during the summer across from the store. Many local craftspeople in the area open their studios to the public. Check out the Greensboro Historical Society's exhibits next to Willeys.
