A-Frame on the Water at Historic Sickman's Mill

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

*** Winter 2017-2018 *** We have 5-7 RVs coming to stay on the grassy area after Thanksgiving and staying through mid-April. We will still be renting the house during this time-frame; we just wanted everyone to be aware of it before renting.

Enjoy a relaxing stay at our A-Frame house located at Sickman's Mill. You will have access to the creek and campground for campfires (fire ring and firewood provided), fishing, creek swimming, kayaking, canoeing (equipment not provided) or enjoy a relaxing tube ride down the Pequea Creek from our on-site tubing business ($8 per person Memorial Day - Labor Day).

Our guests often see great blue herons, minks, hawks and the occasional bald eagle. History lovers will enjoy the view of our 4 story stone grist mill. We typically allow our guests to explore the inside of the mill to see our ongoing restoration effort.

Since we only let scouts and church groups camp, there are usually no campers, so you typically get the whole place to yourself!

Memorial Day through Labor Day there are tubers on-site during the day but they are typically gone by around 6:00 PM leaving a quiet, peaceful setting. This time can vary depending on the creek water levels; lower levels equal a longer float time.

Take a left out of our drive way and the Frogtown Cafe is two minutes away, a country pub that is family friendly. A right out of our drive way will take you to the Conestoga Wagon restaurant where they have great food, convenience store and gas station.

We are 20-30 minute drive, (through country back roads) to Rockvale Square Outlets, Sight and Sound Theater, and Dutch Wonderland. Hershey Park is about 1 hour away. Philadelphia 1.5 hours. Gettysburg 2 hours

No parties allowed, anyone throwing a party on the premises will be asked to leave. Any additional day or night guests must have prior approval.

Cable TV and wireless internet included.

Two large decks allow you to enjoy the view of the campground, historic grist mill and the Pequea creek.

For even more pictures and information see our website.

The first floor contains a large rec room containing a queen sleeper sofa and futon, a separate bedroom with queen size bed and TV, large laundry room, and a full bath (shower).

The second floor contains a living room with TV VCR and DVD, kitchen, full bath (tub and shower), and bedroom containing a twin bed and a full/twin bunk bed.

The third floor consists of a private bedroom with queen size bed and TV, and a loft overlooking the living room.

Beautiful, Clean House and Property, Excellent Experience

  • 5 of 5

From start to finish this whole experience was excellent. The owner was very kind and responsive on any questions regarding the stay. The house and property was beautiful and clean. Everything was exactly as advertised. Beautiful location for campfires next to the river.

Very beautiful place. Six of enjoyed our stay. I can't express the awesome view.

Better than a hotel anyday. Trina and Eric had anything and more at the place. Didn't need anything. Glad we took time to relax and enjoy the place a bit. Birds eye view of an Eagle carrying dinner across the water.

Perfect for Craft Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Our craft group loved the house. It was roomy enough to house our group of 5 and set up a couple 6' tables to spread our crafts out. Home is very clean, has a lovely view from each deck and is close to some excellent tourist attractions (Sight n Sound, Kitchen Kettle Village and wine tasting venues).

Such a great summer vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house! There were a good number of rooms and bathrooms, parking was super convenient, and there were markets, dairies and grocery stores nearby for food and entertainment. We also LOVED being able to walk out of the house, go tubing for a few hours, and have the shuttle drop us right back in our parking lot. We would absolutely stay here again.

A fun stay by the Creek.

  • 5 of 5

The house was great for our weekend near Lancaster. There was plenty of room for our 2 families to have space and be comfortable. The deck sa a relaxing and pretty view of the creek. It was private and close enough to take advantage of all the Lancaster area has to offer. We had everything we needed and Trina made the whole process very easy. We had a fun family weekend.

Very clean and feels like home!

  • 5 of 5

Since we went in March, it was too cold to tube or even hike. But the house is fantastic! Very clean, roomy and welcoming. We had everything we needed for a great weekend. Visited a few fun local shops, did some arts and crafts and just relaxed. Definitely on the short list of places to visit again!
