Charming western themed unit located in our barn. Yes, a real barn...cattle and horses on the property of 38 acres. Beautiful location 7 miles west of Walla Walla, but right in the middle of our best wineries. Besides livestock, we have regular visits from deer, turkey, geese, pelicans and occasionally a moose.

Historic Whitman Mission is just down the road. Famous site of the missionary massacre in 1847.

About Cathy and Dan

Dan owns rental stores and Cathy is a nurse in a cancer center. We have one dog, eleven horses and twenty head of cattle. Our travels have included great rentals thru the VRBO website.

Cathy and Dan purchased this barn in 1999

Why Cathy and Dan chose South Central

Cathy and Dan built the house and barn while raising their four children, fourteen years ago. Now that the kids are gone; we're finding that we have lots of space to share. The apartment was built for our son and his wife six years ago. They moved into their own home, so we decided to give vacation rentals a try.

What makes this barn unique

Guests can enjoy rest and relaxation away from the city. It's an opportunity to experience a real farm while sightseeing and enjoying our lovely valley. The apartment size is approximately 1200 sq feet. Very peaceful, quiet, lovely sunsets can be viewed from the hot tub. We farm hay, so 3-4 times each summer guests can view the harvest and smell fresh mowed hay. Pets love it here!

Guestbook comments from the owner

great getaway

  • 5 of 5

this must be my 4th time staying there because it is my very favorite. Located on a working horse ranch just out of town the small house-literally attached to the side of the barn offers peace and quiet, very nice surroundings and an experience with horses, deer, wild turkeys, sunsets on the patio with a great bottle of wine, and friends. At every visit, the property is spotless-well taken care of. I have recommended this place to many friens, ans intend to re-visit again.

Walla Walla Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in Walla Walla and at the farm. Loved spending time with Barn Cat the horses. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We didn't use the hot tub or fire pit as it was a bit raining and cool, but totally enjoyed the field view and seeing wild turkeys and a pheasant. Owners were great. Thank you, Dan and Cathy!

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect! It was centrally located and had everything we needed (and then some). We barbecued each night for dinner, enjoyed a glass of wine by the fire and relaxed in the hot tube. Dan and Cathy were delightful, making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable and still giving us our privacy. We'll be back!

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Cathy and Dan's Barn Condo. It was simply amazing. It is so cool because you really are sharing the barn with the horses. But, it's nice and quiet and peaceful in the residential part. The place is perfectly decorated with style and comfort and it's the cleanest rental I have ever stayed in. Cathy and Dan are around to help if you need it, they are friendly and chatty - but not too much. I stayed with my mom, 2 girlfriends, and 2 toddlers. We brought a blowup mattress and little beds for the kids and we had plenty of room. It was a bit hot for using the fire or hot tub but I hope to be back in cooler weather for those. We visited the horses multiple times a day and fell in love with all of them. It really was just the perfect stay. Next time we hope to fine the elusive river!
