What makes this house unique

The O'Connor House is one of the few rental homes truly in the downtown Historic District of Wilmington. Our town is a beautiful, small historic city and the Hollywood of the East. The hit series REVOLUTION is filmed in Wilmington as well as film hits: IRON MAN 3, WE'RE THE MILLERS, and THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND. It has so much charm from its' walking tours, horse drawn carriage rides and trolleys to its' magnificent mansions, historic district and wooden river walk. The river walk is over a mile in length and has many shops, restaurants, and parks along its' path. It is less than two blocks from the O'Connor House. At the Riverfront Park along the path there is the annual Downtown Sundown Concert Series beginning in May and running through September 2nd. Every Friday evening there is a concert with beer, wine, and food available. For a schedule of the concert line-up and event information see WilmingtonDowntown dot com.

We stayed in the O'Connor house for my son's wedding. It was perfect! Great location and met all of our needs for a great time! Awesome kitchen with cozy den. Great garden patio area, with nice neighbors. Had a great time!

Lovely home.

Although I had some trouble receiving check-in details (called three times, emailed, sent message through HomeAway app) I eventually got the details and we had a fabulous stay!

Owner's Response: Sorry you had a problem with Homeaway. Better to correspond with our manager Angie, she lives just 2 blocks from the house. But so glad you enjoyed your stay.

Beautiful and comfortable home. Our family enjoyed our stay.

  • 5 of 5

The O'Connor house is a beautiful and comfortable home. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautifully done. The home provided a wonderful accommodation for our family while attending a wedding. The front porch is a fabulous place to spend time. We enjoyed the rocking chairs and nice breezes. Angie checked to ensure we had everything we needed. The entire experience was one I would recommend.

Perfect spot for a Wilmington vacation

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommend staying here if you are traveling to Wilmington.

On the edge of a charming neighborhood full of historic homes it is perfectly situated for easy walks to the many shops and restaurants in the riverfront area. When we needed to drive we could quickly get to the main thoroughfares for trips to grocery stores or hitting the beaches.

Everything indoors is meticulously updated and handsomely appointed. The kitchen has great appliances and is well stocked with cookware - always a gamble at rental houses. Plenty of room for our family of 6 to come together for meals or stretch out during downtimes.

Best of all the people managing the property made themselves readily accessible for questions and were super helpful - even providing beach towels for us so we wouldn't have to fly with our own.

Given our experience I have trouble imagining a better rental house exists in Wilmington.
