About Jennifer Mahon
We have 4 small children and currently live overseas. We love hiking, skiing, and spending time with family and friends in Vermont.
Jennifer Mahon purchased this Farmhouse in 1970
Why Jennifer Mahon chose Wardsboro
My parents bought Fairview Farmhouse when I was a small child. I've been coming to Vermont as long as I can remember. My favorite childhood memories were born here, and now I love being able to bring my own kids. It's wonderful to let them explore freely on the property knowing they are safe well away from roads. In the evening it is cosy and romantic to sit round the fire.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The house is relaxed, not at all fussy, and welcoming. Its setting on a rise slightly away from the picturesque village of Wardsboro is peaceful and safe, yet close enough to the local cafe and general store that we can walk down to the village to pick up the morning New York Times and a treat for breakfast. The views are wonderful all year round. It has a claim to fame: On the property is the largest hand-pegged barn in Southern Vermont, a massive historic structure remaining from the Farm's days as a dairy farm.

Beautiful old farmhouse!
The spot was perfect for us. We loved the old beams, the comfy bedrooms and the well—-appointed kitchen. Gorgeous spot.
Bathroom description misleading but nice place
The farmhouse is very cozy and comfortable. Loved the ample single beds ! Bathroom description is misleading - there are only 2 toilets - one downstairs and one upstairs. A little tight for 8 of us. Snow removal was not provided - it was difficult to "move in" without a path. Nice to have a fireplace.
Fantastic stay for a family getaway
Jennifer's farmhouse was exactly what my family was looking for a long weekend getaway. There was plenty of space which was great given we had some rainy days. We'd definitely come back again!
Place was neat and had a lot of space!
Ahhhh, the Rumford Fireplace..Great place to gather as a family apre's ski
Up for an Easter weekend with my Family and friends. Two families kids age (17,18,13, 13, & 9). Everyone had a blast... We spent the Days @ MT Snow & Stratton which is an easy scienic drive and then spent the nights unwinding by the Rumford fireplace. Although the kids did spend some time on their "devices," they did play a two day intense game of Monopoly (which amazed us) They even went on a hike up the local MTN. The house is super cozy, beds are very comfortable and plenty of room for all. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for dinners and breakfast in. The General store is only 2 min away and has great fresh food choices. We were 100% satisfied and plan on a return next season for sure. We normally prefer a bustling nightlife, however, this was a very welcomed change. Thank you for a great stay !
Exceeded our or expectations. 10 guys 30-55yo. Lots of firewood and a kitchen that was great.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a true farm house to share.
