The lake cabin boasts a serene and inviting destination and experience for families, couples, and groups of any kind. Nestled in the mountains of Rosman, NC, wake up each morning to pristine mountain views and the ever-changing interplay of sunlight and clouds parading across the lake's surface.
Those staying in the Master Bedroom can enjoy this picturesque view through a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. These views are available as well in the living room and kitchen. No matter which bedroom you sleep in (or if you're in the loft), grab your coffee or hot tea in the morning and head out to the deck. Enjoy the sights and sounds of mountain living with no agenda but to relax.
If you prefer to keep the relaxation indoors, grab a book, grab a drink, and take a relaxing bath in the claw foot tub.
Or if you prefer, pop some popcorn and watch a movie on the cabin's living room flat screen. When you're ready for a little more activity, head down to the lakeside and shove off in the canoe for a nice paddle around the lake. You might even prefer to grab a chair and sit lakeside while casting a line and fishing the fully stocked waters.
If you start getting antsy around the cabin, no worries! We are located just 20 to 30 minutes from Brevard, Lake Toxaway, Pisgah Forest and The Blue Ridge Parkway. In an hour or less you can be in Hendersonville, Cashiers, Highlands, Waynesville and even downtown Asheville, NC, one of the most eclectic and quaint cities in the Southeast. If traveling by air, the Asheville airport is approx. 40 minutes away and Brevard's airport is even closer. Great restaurants, antiques, and shopping are 20 min away.
If you have an itch for the arts, Brevard Music Center and Flatrock Theatre are great places to visit and performance schedules can be found on their websites. Ladies, head to one of several spas in the area for an afternoon escape. You are never far away from great hiking, fishing, rafting, tubing, climbing, horseback riding, golf, tennis, and more!
We bought and renovated this cabin to have a home away from home. And we are sure that if you stay here, you too will want to come back as much as we do.
From first glance to final goodbye you will find what you’re looking for at and around our humble abode on Line Runner Lake. About Paul Kennedy
We are Dana and Paul Kennedy. We have four kids and 4 Grands as well. We own Paul Kennedy Catering in Savannah Georgia, recently voted best hospitality small business in Savannah. The cabin is our home away from home. After visiting the lake Since 2003, we jumped at the chance to buy and renovate this cabin.
Paul Kennedy purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Paul Kennedy chose Eastatoe
This area has everything you can think of, from relaxing to shopping to outdoor activities galore. The location is perfect for us. When seclusion is what we want, it's here. When it's small town living, it's here. When it's bigger city entertainment, it's here. After 7 years it felt more like the location chose us. It was everything, and still is everything, we could want.

A very nice break from the real world
I want to thank Paul for allowing us to stay at the great cabin. The three of us plus our dog had a wonderful time. The Cabin was pristine and had all the amenities we would need...we used the kayaks and canoe...our dog laid out on the deck and stared at the birds and squirrels. The rooms were nice and beds were comfortable. The view of the lake was very serene. We were about 20-30 minutes to Brevard where we did some hiking and walking through down...great ice cream store (Dolly's)
There were only a couple of minor issues...there was a lot of stuff in the fridge when we got there..condiments...drinks..etc...we never touched them because we did not know how long they were there. The other was the pots were not in the greatest shape...bottoms are all scratched up...
I would recommend this place anytime and would love to go back
You are correct about the pans.
We have to change them out from time to time.
We are doing so as we speak.
We've had to remove most metal utensils because folks keep using metal spoons and such on nonstick pans, which blows my mind and is frustrating.
The condiments and such are left for convenience and dates are checked regularly.
At the end of the season we donate to shelters.
Thanks for staying,
Everything we hoped for
This cabin was a perfect fit because we could bring our well behaved dog and it was lakefront, offering swimming, boating and "catch and release" fishing. I didn't expect the accommodations to be as beautiful and comfortable as they were. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed morning coffee as well as afternoon wine time on the porch and I spent hours reading and napping in the big hammock. The owners were very accommodating. You don't want to have to run out for a forgotten grocery item as it is a bit of a drive so stock up in advance and ENJOY!
Great place for a family reunion
We had a wonderful time connecting with our grown children at this beautifully furnished cabin. The cabin is well designed to accommodate a large gathering, with ample sleeping space, a modern kitchen and comfortable living room area. We enjoyed the deck view of the lake and mountains beyond. The little lake is peaceful and quiet and afforded us daily opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. (Our newly purchased Tenkara fly fishing rods were perfect for the location.) The lower level ping -pong table was also a fun addition to activities. Traversing the long gravel road into the property can be tricky but should not put off families interested in finding a lovely get-away to spend some quality time together.
a wonderful spot
Precisely as described, perhaps undersold. This is a wonderful spot, and we're so glad we stayed. Rather secluded, beautiful sunrises/sunsets, well-stocked. Loved the loft for early morning reading. The game room was a bonus.
Beautiful house. beautiful location. Very relaxing
Beautiful and Peaceful
I can't say enough nice things about our experience at the Kennedy cabin. The cabin pictures do not do it justice. In person it is amazing. It was decorated perfectly and the beds were so comfortable. My family, which included 3 of our adult children with one of their significant others, and my husband and I enjoyed the lake so much. We rented the kayaks and also used the row boat for leisurely rowing around the lake and fishing. The lake is well stocked! We ate at Mayberrys in Brevard which was delicious, and if you were ever a fan of the Andy Griffith show, reminds me of place that would have been there (their point exactly I think!) We went to sliding rock which was so much fun (and freezing cold) but a must do I think for anyone. We also did a few other hikes but for the most part, hung around the cabin, played ping pong and board games which is kind of what we do to reconnect with each other. We also made a trip into Asheville, which was greatl! I didn't know what to expect going in but it is a really cool town and pretty big! Can easily spend a whole afternoon walking around, shopping and eating. While we were there we ate at Packs Tavern, and the food and atmosphere was amazing and I highly, highly recommend it.
If you are looking at the Kennedy cabin for a vacation, I say immediately book it! We had a wonderful time and made another year of great memories there for our family.

If you enjoy Waterfalls, Transylvania Co. is known as the 'Land of Waterfalls'. About 2.5 miles from the cabin is a private waterfall that is a must see. The owners of the property are gracious hosts and we respect their privacy and generosity. Ask about this unique opportunity when you get in. The city of Rosman hosts rafting in the summer months, just a few miles from the cabin on the French Broad River.
