Amazing vacation rental overlooking the sea

  • 5 of 5

M family and I stayed in this rental recently for two weeks and were very very happy with our stay.

The pictures do not do the place justice. The whole house is absolutely gorgeous.

Every room is perfectly decorated. You instantly fall in love with the place and feel at home.

The bathrooms are very modern, clean and big. With some very nice touches.

Now as for the kitchen. Wow.

The pictures only give you a vague idea on how great this kitchen is.

First of all it's huge.

It has the best of everything, fridge, stove ........

Beautiful cream wood cabinets with a contrasting island.

Large French doors open from the kitchen/ dining room to the backyard.

Very social space. We could all sit and have breakfast and chat to the cook ( me) in the kitchen.

Bedrooms are huge with lots of storage and unbelievably comfortable beds.

You really sleep like a log in this place.

It's Ireland and this house is just far enough outside the city so that when its dark, it's really dark. Plus it's so quiet you can hear the waves gently hitting the rocks outside the front door.

There are breathtaking coastal views from every room of the house.

If you are planning on vision Ireland.

Stay in this house.

You will not regret it

Awesome vacation based in Oranmore!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing trip we had from our home-base in Oranmore! The house met our high expectations. The house was a recent and modern construction, but was built to look quite charming. Everything in the house functioned just as we had hoped: great modern kitchen with top of the line appliances, two fireplaces which were cozy on cool nights, a steam shower that was nicer than I have ever seen even in a 5 star hotel, a new washer/dryer set that allowed us to pack lighter than normal, comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, towels, etc....

It seems hard to imagine, but we logged in over 3000 miles in our rental car in the three weeks we were in Ireland (two of these weeks based in Oranmore). The location of this town made it very easy to take day trips to some AMAZING castles, forts, abbeys and manor houses. It was always nice at the end of the day to know we were heading back to our comfortable and cozy home base.

Just a word or two about Oranmore... A great little town with good grocery shopping, local restaurants (you MUST have the seafood chowder at Moran's), and idyllic pastures with grazing sheep and rainbows.

Although I have been to over 40 countries in my life, this was one of the best vacations I have EVER been on!

Tolle Homebase für den Irland Urlaub

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful house and location

  • 5 of 5

Just looking at the photos on line makes me sad we had to leave! The house is large, beautiful, well cared for and well-equipped. The view from every window is beautiful. We found it a good base for trips into Galway (several, a fun friendly city), to Connemara and the Aran Islands and as far south as Loop Head, The Burren, and the Cliffs of Mohr. Don't miss the Oranmore Castle! We four adults had plenty of room to spread out, and the house could have easily accomodated another couple or a few children. There is a large fenced back yard, with views across the meadows. We were visited by a hare and a few magpies. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice. The Power Shower is a real treat but we could have used printed instructions on how to use it to fully appreciate its many features before we left! The owners are a pleasure to work with.

Perfect country retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at Esther's place after a very long flight from Boston with 3 young children & were very pleasantly surprised by the home as it is was way better in person than it shows on the web site. Where do I start; the house itself is newly renovated & has all updates amenities, high end appliances, top of the line bathrooms with unbelievable showers, not to mention very comfortable beds & lovely fresh cotton bedding. Margaret greeted us upon arrival & was fantastic & extremely helpful. The location was perfect for us as we did not want to stay in the City with 3 young children, although the home is only 6 miles from Galway city so we were in town in a flash. The home has a nice big back yard & the children really enjoyed being outside & checking out the farm animals over the fence, we even managed a walk to the sea shore which can be seen from the house. We also loved being at-home in-front of the open fire, the home has an open plan so it was great to cook, relax & dine all in the one space.I would highly recommend this home for a family, it was really perfect for us & our children & we are returning again next year.

Fabuleux !

Owner's Response: Hi thank you so much for the kind words, and I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay. I am going to put a brief English translation of your review , and thank you again for being fantastic guests. Submitted: August 7, 2013 Stayed: July 2013 Beautiful and spacious home. Photos comply with treatment benefits that are available but do not reflect the space and room height and the house in general (250 m²). Orenmore (5 minutes drive) has all the amenities and we seemed to be a "chic" suburb of Galway with beautiful houses. The area is residential . A view of a meadow with a side of beautiful Irish cows (no smell and no flies) and the other arm of the sea and its tides. Many walks are to be around. Very close to Galway, we were able to radiate to Connemara, the Aran Islands and the Burren, Cliffs of Moher ... Unforgettable stay in this house that we highly recommend.

The scenic property is located in the quiet countryside with water views of an open bay in front of the home, and expansive green fields framed by hills behind the house. It is only a 20 minute drive to Galway City where you will find great restaurants, lively pubs, and unique shops, and all types of entertainment. The house is located about a 10 minute drive from Oranmore where you can taste some delicious local food, hear traditional Irish music. Banks and food markets are also located in the village of Oranmore. Clarenbridge is another village located about 10 min away from the house . Here you can find exceptional restaurants featuring exquisite sea food dishes and light shopping. There is also a church, community center (which has a bar for a few social drinks at night), petrol station, and convenience shop within walking distance from the house. Tawin Island's breathtaking views are around the corner. Take a walk or bike into Tawin island and experience a refreshing afternoon of breathtaking views, bird watching, and enjoy the seals floating along the coast. It is a great enriching experience for all to enjoy. Rinville has a golf course, sailing club, an a fantastic park for kids - and this is all located close to the house! If you feel like a drive, take a trip to the cliffs of Moher, Connemara, or the Burren.

Galway city of the Tribes, is the west of Ireland, a great county to bring the family, or a loved one, a group of friends, or to just go by yourself. The city has retained all of its small old town charm and beauty, cultural , and historical heritage . Take a walk through its busy narrow streets and admire its medieval buildings tastefully mingled with modern structures, visit Galway Cathedral, the Spanish Arch, Lynch's Castle, the Salmon Weir bridge, or wander through the cobbled streets of the Quays area and the Claddagh, enjoy shopping , or just stop for a coffee or a drink in the many , restaurants , bars and coffee shops. Galway has some of the best gourmet products in the country . Galway now has an annual food festival which provides demostrations, and a wide variety of gourmet food. Try and plan your visit around one of the many festivals in the city – Arts week, Galway races( ladies day is a must, but wear your Sunday best) , Salthill Airshow, the volvo ocean race or the Oyster festival.

Travel west into Connemara an unspoilt bog land , and still fresh lakes.Travel to the Twelve Bens. Visit Clifden, the Connemara Capital. From Clifden you can drive north to visit Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park or South to visit Ballyconneelly, Roundstone and continue east to Ballinahinch Castle.

A few miles south of Galway, visit the Burren area. Start your tour in the beautiful seaside town of Kinvara with a visit to Dunguaire Castle and continue your drive through the Burren. The Burren is a limestone plateau which has been inhabited since the Stone Age. The Burren has unique flora and you may see some wild goats during your visit. Take a nice drive to the Cliffs of Moher, Aillwee Caves, these are great activites for kids . Other areas to visit , the Aran islands take the boat from Rossaveal. The Aran islands is great if you love bike riding, you can see most of the island by bike I would defiantly recommended it . For additional on most of these activities visit
