Welcome to our home on beautiful Lake Washington! The 4,250 sq ft lakefront home with sunny Western exposure was custom designed and built in 2003 with windows galore to showcase the incredible lake view and enhance peace and tranquility. Conveniently located 15-20 minutes to downtown Bellevue, Seattle, and the airport. Five minutes to shopping and dining in the Factoria or Newcastle neighborhoods. The house is a three minute drive to the 405/90 interchange, yet it is on a quiet, private lane that feels far removed from the hustle of the city.
When you walk thru the front door, you are greeted by an amazing lake view and a warm contemporary home with walls of windows and beautiful woodwork. There is room for the whole extended family or friends to spread out on three floors of finely decorated living space.
The home has a reverse, open floor plan with a wide, beautifully crafted staircase leading down to a huge great room featuring a chef's kitchen, dining area, and living room with plenty of cozy seating, a wide flat screen TV, and a gas fireplace. The kitchen has two ovens, a 5 burner Miele gas stove, two sinks, comfy leather bar stool seating for five at a large bar, and an adjacent dining table that seats six. The kitchen is stocked with all the small appliances, pots and pans, and utensils you'll need to whip up a gourmet meal. We also supply ample towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, trash bags, food storage bags, etc etc to make your stay more convenient.
The great room is surrounded by oversized glass sliders that open to the patio, manicured garden, lake, and private dock creating a true indoor/outdoor living experience. There are life jackets, paddle boards, a two person kayak, and private beach access available to enhance the lake fun. We have many toys, games, books, bikes, scooters, and movies for more family fun in and out of the house.
Also on the walkout level is a powder room, second laundry, Butler's pantry, office with a twin sofa sleeper and door creating a private sleeping space for a single, and a private wing with a gorgeous family room/guest suite with the most awesome family movie night couch ever. The family room/guest suite has an en suite bathroom and sauna. The lake view hot tub is right outside. A convertible queen bed can be set up in this room upon request.
The home has three large bedrooms. The master bedroom with CA King bed, lake view balcony, sitting room, fireplace, and flat screen TV is located on the entry level. It has a giant bathroom with a deep, free standing tub, a lake view shower, a large balcony, two sinks, and a separate toilet room. There is a futon sofa in the sitting room of the master that can be converted to a full bed.
Rounding out the entry floor is a well appointed laundry room and a cozy second bedroom with a full bed and an adjacent full bathroom.
The third bedroom is by itself on the top floor with a serene bathroom with soaking tub across the stairway landing. This bedroom has a full size day bed with a twin trundle, a flat screen TV, and a lake view balcony. On the oversized semi-private stair landing is a twin daybed for an additional guest.
We are open to renting to responsible, mature guests who will treat our home with care and respect. We will rent to a group of 10 people max and do not permit parties or large gatherings or smoking of any kind in or around the home. Pets may be approved to join you on a case by case basis. Please ask permission before bringing your pet.
Unlike most vacation rentals, this is our primary home that we make available to guests when we are out of town. As such, it allows for us to provide many amenities not found in other vacation rentals. But the small downside that we'd like to point out is that there may not be much storage space for unpacking suitcases and for large amounts of freezer items. There will be room in closets and hangers provided for your hanging items, and we provide suitcase stands for each bedroom. We also will have the majority of the refrigerator available and some freezer space. We always have the house professionally cleaned and all linens and towels freshly washed after our departure and before guests arrive. We keep a minimalist, tidy home, so it will look as neat and organized as in the pictures.
*** Please Note - all reviews prior to July 2015 refer to our former lakefront home in the Leschi neighborhood of Seattle. If our past guests loved that house, you will be blown away by this custom designed and built, West facing lakefront retreat. Still centrally located to all the Seattle area has to offer and still well managed by Shelley and Brian who love being able to share our home with guests from around the world while we enjoy our own travels.

We are a family with two children ages 11 and 9. We love to ski, mountain bike, hike, and surf. Our main passion is traveling whenever we can.
Shelley Wineke purchased this house in 2015
We chose to purchase this property because it's in a wonderful, quiet lakefront neighborhood in Bellevue with excellent restaurants, parks, hiking, biking, and beaches nearby. We also like the freeway access, being close to downtown Seattle, Bellevue, and the airport.
We love swimming off our dock and at the local beaches, waterskiing on Lake Washington, and biking the trail that encircles the lake. Our house is centrally located for endless adventures in the Puget Sound region.
Email upon arrival from Lucy C, "Just got here. Wonderful as ever."
Email 10 days later upon departure from Charles C, "Shelley, we had another wonderful time in your incredible house. Thank you so much ... We hope you and your family had a nice vacation. And we look forward to another opportunity to stay at 1310. All the best, Charles."
The Zen home was the perfect retreat for us to make our home base as we explored the area. We have visited Seattle many times but having a lovely home to enjoy made our trip extra special. Very clean, beautifully furnished and in a great neighborhood. Definitely hope to come again soon!
This was a lovely spot to enjoy the lake while visiting family for a wedding (15-20 minutes to wedding venue South Seattle, central Seattle reception, and the airport). We picked blackberries growing wild nearby to go with local salmon we grilled at the house. The adults and children alike enjoyed playing and being by the water with paddle boards, 2-person kayak available to us. We enjoyed watching the osprey, eagles and herons land and feed nearby as we soaked in the hot tub or sipped coffee on the patio. The owners worked with us on the bed configuration to accommodate my elderly mother sleeping downstairs on the lower kitchen/family room level. There is a very long flight of stairs to these areas from the main bedrooms with only 1 railing, but she only had to navigate them to go to the wedding and when we arrived and departed. Most importantly, it felt like being at the lake cottage in Michigan to her and the home was an inviting place for family to come visit so she didn't have to go to them. I wish we'd known about the boat rental place. It would have been lovely to explore the lake, skiing or maybe do some fishing, as we watched others catching fish right off the end of the dock.
The location was perfect. We were there for a family reunion and it was close enough to everything we wanted to visit - Bellevue, Downtown and West Seattle. The house itself was gorgeous. Immaculate views of the lake and enough activities for the entire family to enjoy. We went kayaking, swimming, fishing (need a permit to do this) and boating (we rented a boat at a place 5 miles away). We would definitely stay here again.
We had a great time in this spacious, modern, and well-equipped house. The lakefront location is ideal, with great views over the water. Swimming in the lake is easy for the whole family, and a great way to spend time between exploring the area or just relaxing on the patio. The location feels secluded. The street has no traffic on it, and the only sound we could hear at night was the lake lapping the shore. Would definitely recommend it for a couples or family getaway to Seattle.
We had a wonderful family Thanksgiving in this beautiful, immaculate, architect designed home. Truly "Out of this World Views" from every room. The location is just perfect, with easy access to both downtown Seattle and Bellevue. We really enjoyed the custom woodwork throughout the house, along with the private hot tub and sauna.
Best vacation house we have stayed in.
We had such an incredible timing staying in quaint little Leschi. From the moment we arrived we knew we had found somehting special. Sitting down by the dock was so relaxing and the view was absolutely incredible being able to see Mount Rainier and Mount Baker on a clear day. We are defintely coming back to this spot again. The house was awesome and great for a family. There were nice restaurants within walking distance and a cool local market. It was also really easy to drive downtown via side streets and did not take long at all to be down at Pikes Marketplace. I would highly recommend a stay here .
Two person kayak, life jackets, adult bikes, and kids' bikes and ride ons may be available.
