Why Stuart Howells chose Nassau
It's Architecture is in the centuries old colonial / tropical style. It is designed for 'living on your porch'. It's in a large property with lots of lush vegetation , so it's pretty private .With a 95% perfect climate and constant sea breeze, why not?
What makes this Cottage unique
Its' location and its' relative isolation away from traffic . Sometimes , I just take my coffee and walk the fifty metres to the beach in the morning . The beach is soft sand and perfect for swimming . It's 2000 feet long and divided up into several separate bays . Most visitors are surprised at how few people use the beach . Bahamians rarely like beaching between the end of October and the end of April , the next year Many days , I just walk along the beach path to Downtown , through the ' Fish Fry ' native restuarant area , and past another stunning beach . This beach has a closeup view of the cruise ships at dock . I've include shots of this in the photo selection . I

Clean and private cottage with a great location
Stuart picked us up at the airport, took us to get groceries and checked us in to his cozy cottage. We new he was close by if we needed anything and our week was quiet and relaxing. We rented a car for the week so all of our beach destinations were within a 20 min drive. Saunders beach is good as well and only a 2 min walk away. Great location, clean all cooking utensils you need. 20 min walk to the fish fry area to eat. Only complaint would be the sofa/loveseat is not very comfortable but I would recommend this cottage to anyone. We had a great week. Thank you Stuart.
Not exactly what we expected
We stayed at the cottage over spring break. The cottage had it's pros and cons. First of all the pictures of the cottage are way out of date. The cushions on the furniture are really faded and the refrigerator is rusted on the outside. The furniture is rattan and not very comfortable. You would expect it to be outside not living room furniture. All though I would say there is everything you would need at the cottage...it could use some more drinking glasses. The TV is difficult to use... 600 channels but you had to use a mouse to change the channel. Make sure you bring some Off for the Mosquitos some of the screens are not tight and there are alot of them in the house. Lastly if you are an older couple the stairs to the loft might be a bit much. The cottage was a 3 minute to the beach and that was nice.
Older cottage but WiFi was reliable and TV was a plus. It was like our own place away from home
Stuart was waiting to get us at airport. Brought us to grocery store and liquor store and then to the cottage. Able to have breakfast and lunch at the cottage and maximize beach time. So very close to beach just a few minutes to walk. Sun all 10 days. Only 25 minutes walk to famous fish fry area with a number of restaurants. Most relaxing vacation we have had as the time went by slowly for a change.
Great cottage in the Bahamas!
We stayed at Stuart's for 4 nights in January and loved it. Although the weather was less than ideal, Stuart was an excellent host. He met us at the airport even after our flight was delayed by 3 days(!). He then took us to the grocery store and got us settled. He was always available to help out but never intrusive. The cottage was cozy and well equipped. We walked to the beach and the convenience store, pharmacy and liquor store. Stuart also set up a taxi to take us back to the airport. We had a great stay!
It's very centrally located , The cottage is in a quiet , exclusive residential neighborhood ,called Vista Marina . It's close to Downtown and yet near to the many great beaches along the Western Coast .It's a 10 minutes Jitney bus ride to the hotels/casino at Cable Beach , Tourist are welcome and pay cash - para- sailing , jet -skis , pools bars etc . I love the jitneys . They're a great means of getting anywhere for $1.25 and meeting Bahamians .
Getting Downtown takes 10 minutes, and they run every 10 mins. or so . Getting to a supermarket is just as easy - a 10 minute jitney , or there's a convenience store/gas station ,200 metres away.
If you like , you can do what I do every moning - walk the 100 yds. to the beach and sit on the bench and drink coffee - it's really beautiful - spectacular view and no people ! THe beach has restrooms and outdoor showers , as well as a children's playground .
