"Diamond in the Rough” is a cottage nestled along Crow Cove. This magical little spot is a beautiful, great space for vacationers to relax and enjoy.

Bush and trees borders the salt water, helping to make it the perfect spot for guests to picnic, play and plan day trips to the beautiful towns and villages of the South Shore.

This is also a great place for nature lovers. There are loons, osprey, ducks, eagles, and even an owl, that take up a seasonal residence here.

“Diamond in the Rough” is uniquely decorated and full of personality and charm. The cottage is comfortable for long-term or extended stays.

Guests can make themselves at home in this waterfront cottage. Set up a home away from home. This is a great place to make vacation memories for you and your family.

Rates are based on occupancy of no more than four (4) people. More than four (4) people are not permitted unless authorized by the owner. All reservations require a deposit of 50 to 75 % depending on the length of the stay. Check-in time is after 3:00 PM. Check-out time is by 10:00 AM.

Our cancellation policy is one to keep in mind. Contact the owner immediately if you decide to cancel. If, and only if, the owner can place another renter in the timeslot, will a refund be issued. Otherwise, both parties lose. Insurance by renter should be considered. Sorry, no pets allowed unless authorized by the owner.

Located on historic lighthouse route three (3). Directions off Highway 103 via exit 9 or 10, just 50 minutes from Halifax, NS.

Comfort and water front views in the pines

We were lucky to find this place at the last minute for our final 3 days in Nova Scotia. The cottage is located on a small salt water inlet just southwest of Halifax about an hour and 20 minutes from the airport. The photos do not do it justice. The cozy one-bedroom cottage is located water front with nearly 180 degree views of the water. There are 3 different decks from which to view the water: one sunny, one for eating near the grill and one that sits back near a storage shed for more shade. The pine trees in front of the house along with two empty lots on either side give lots of privacy. The place was clean and well-kept and the kitchen well supplied. The washer and dryer were convenient. The queen sized bed was very comfortable in the small but cozy single bedroom. There was a Murphy bed in the main living space for extra sleeping, if required. There was a canoe and life vests for guest use. Michelle, the owner, was friendly and gave us lots of information about the area so we could decide where we wanted to spend our time. She also showed us a water front deck at the edge of the property where we could go to see sunset views the best. This was a great location to tour Lunenberg, Peggy’s Cove and other nearby waterfront towns and villages. Michelle does not post an on line calendar, so you need to call about availability. Definitely would recommend this to friends and family and would love to return for a longer stay!
