Really nice getaway - wish I had known a few things before I arrived
My daughters and a couple of friends rented this lovely cabin to celebrate my youngest daughters birthday. It is beautiful and I loved that it is in a gated community to make us feel a little safer. All in all we had a fantastic weekend. The cabin and the views are really nice. There were a couple of things I wish I had known before I got there. To get to a grocery is a trek - take your groceries with you! We discovered at 9:30 pm we had forgotten cheese for a dish we were making for breakfast NO WAY I was going back down to get cheese. The kitchen is stocked pretty well for a rental but there was no dish soap? I was not surprised by the $85 cleaning fee however I have never been ask to take my trash with me (which by the was there was trash in the cabin hanging on the basement door when we arrived) We checked out on a Sunday so the place listed in the binder to leave your trash was closed. If you want to use the fire pit you can pick up a bundle of wood for less than $5 at the Ingles. The most traumatic thing for my daughter was the single ply toilet tissue LOL I am pretty sure it was as close to camping as we are going to get.
None of the things listed are deal breakers because if you know in advance how to prepare you are going to LOVE this little cabin with the neighbors who always wave and the sweet kitten we named Valentine because of her heart shaped markings.
Our family spent the weekend here and it was wonderful! From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed and at home. Thanks for making our very first cabin stay so great!! I would highly recommend staying here!
Lovely vacation home!!! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
My family and I enjoyed our Christmas vacation this year at Heather's lovely vacation cabin in North Carolina. She is a fabulous and attentive hostess; everything that we could possibly imagine was provided at the cabin (including a terrific resource book with things to do, places to go, local shops to visit, etc.) The cabin was clean, bright and well appointed. We will be back :) Thank you, Heather!
Pleasant cabin, but not convenient to town
The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. However the fireplace and basement heater are both gas and we couldn't use them without the fire alarm going off. We give this cabin 3 stars due to this inconvenience as well as the closet place to get food is over 30 miles away. We thought it was located in Marion which was what I read but it's actually in Nebo. 30 min from Marion and a hour from Asheville. Now as for the good side of the trip, the cabin was clean and we'll stocked with cooking utensils, blankets, towels, etc. Had a ton of board games and video consoles to keep you occupied if stuck inside.
Thanks for your review Benjamin. Right after your stay we had the fireplace inspected and the logs had been moved and were covering up some of the gas vents thereby creating a lot of soot which was why the smoke detector kept going off. We had them put back in the correct position and the burners cleaned and have not had any problems since. I have also warned renters not to touch the logs or move them. The space heater in the basement just had to be run for awhile to burn off dust/dirt that had accumulated during the year
We are a little ways from town - about 15 miles to be exact. I can make it from our cabin to Countryside barbecue in about 20 minutes, which I don’t think is too long of a drive. I have tried to put estimate times to places In our description to let people know we are not super close to things but then again not too far either. But to me that is one of the nice things about our cabin. We are away from the hustle and bustle. It is a quiet, tranquil, beautiful place to unwind.
Thanks again for your review!
We had a great weekend, loved all the little extras and personal touches of the cabin. Amazing views, beautiful neighborhood and lots to do. Only complaint was too short of a weekend. Can't wait to come back.
Beautiful cabin - great view
Very beautiful cabin. View is amazing. Heather was very easy and nice to work with - had a great relaxing weekend! Highly recommend!
