Why Tracy Redwood chose Zazil-ha
When we first visited Playa del Carmen in 2005, we knew we had to be a part of it, a place that we could forever come to, whether to visit, live and work or retire to. The tranquility and friendliness in Playa surpasses many other place we have visited. I think this is due to the 'people' here that are from all over the world and come together to make Playa such a memorable place, filled with dreams that turn to reality. Playa del Carmen will always be a very special place for us. We remodeled and designed our penthouse so that it would be a special place for our guests to enjoy and relax in. Our goal was to make it as comfortable as your home away from home, while providing the amenities that you are used to. Because our climate in Playa offers year round outdoor engagement, we thought it was particularly important to furnish our 1000 sq' private solarium as we would an indoor living space, offering seating, dining, lounging and romance. Many friends that we have come to know seem to have the same story-they come to Playa for vacation and never leave. Playa is truly a gem, what more can I say, experience it first hand and you will be convinced...come and enjoy paradise!
What makes this Condo unique
The Meridian (completed in 2006 ), is a 36 unit / 3 story (the roof-top pool is on the 4th level) condominium building with amazing floor plans, beautiful gardens and a roof top pool. There are only 12 PH units, each with direct private access to the pool area. When we first looked in the area in 2005, we realized that it was very isolated and thought of that as a plus, as far as privacy- which it did turn out to be. Now 6+ years later, it's still a quite area and very desirable, yet 5th Av and the beach are less than 2 blocks away. With the North End's constant growth and demand, there are many more restaurants, bars and stores nearby - yet the Meridian is still a bit off of the main drag and therefore continues to offer peace and quiet, while maintaining it's proximity to whatever it is one may desire. Our building is small enough get to know all of the permanent Ex-Pats, as well as the repetitive guests that come to enjoy Playa year after year for months at a time.

Absolutely Delightful Playa Del Carmen Penthouse
We just returned from our third stay at this delightful Playa Del Carmen Penthouse. This two bedroom, four bath unit is absolutely perfect for us. We like the location...close enough to 5th Avenue (one block) if we want a bit of action yet far enough away to not hear any of the 5th Ave hustle and bustle. The beach is just a 3 minute walk away. Every amenity possible is walking distance away including shopping, groceries, and every kind of restaraunt, bar or club you could want.
This spacious two story contemporary, yet charming condo is very well appointed and Tracy and Giorgios are the most gracious and accommodating hosts you could ever want. The make sure every detail is attended to and work very hard to ensure that your stay will be worry free. The roof top solarium is our favourite feature of this lovely condo. It is spacious, airy, private, and large with areas for sunning, BBQ, dining, relaxing with a cool drink or chilling in the jacuzzi. There is access to the rooftop pool directly from the solarium.
We highly recommend this vacation property.
It really pleases us that you enjoy our Penthouse to its fullest, especially the private solarium. Georgios and I love playing hosts and welcome receiving guests like the two of you every year! Thank you both!
Looking forward to your visit in 2020!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful condo. Although there is no view of the ocean, the beach is just a block and a half away, and we were able to rent beach chairs for the day. Negotiate the price - started by asking us for 500 pesos per person; we ended up paying 200 pesos each and the amount was credited back to our bill for drinks and food! The condo is just a block from 5th Avenue, and there were many restaurants nearby that were excellent, and the grocery store was just a few blocks away within walking distance too which was great. We spend a lot of time on the rooftop patio and loved being able to just go through a door to the pool area. It made it feel as if we had our own pool, and the outdoor shower was so handy for rinsing off before and after a swim. The kitchen had everything we needed and we were glad to have a barbecue to cook on as well. The bedrooms were very well set up and for 2 couples there was plenty of room and privacy. The owner was available via text or email and any questions we had were dealt with very quickly. We found the area to be very safe and we felt comfortable walking everywhere. Keep your eye out across the road for the resident Iguanas that sun themselves on the wall. We had fun keeping track of them and watching them every day! We would definitely recommend this condo for anyone looking for a home away from home to spend some time in.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful time. The penthouse is in a great location, is very spacious, and has many amenities. Really enjoyed the rooftop pool.
Thank you Andy! I'm so glad you had such a great time - sorry I didn't get to meet you in person, maybe next time...
Incredible Penthouse in perfect location
After 14 trips to all-inclusive resorts in Mexico with 11 in the PDC area we have found our second home. Decided to try a condo for our 30th Anniversary since we were on our own for the first time.
Definitely a great decision as this penthouse unit lives up to the perfect reviews. The owner Tracy was very nice and easy to deal with, as was the manager Vivian. Tracy quickly responded to emails and personally met us on arrival to show us her beautiful condo with every amenity and comfort you could imagine. Loved taking daily outdoor showers on the private rooftop and using the BBQ.
The condo building is very quiet with a serene open-air “forest” in the middle. Perfectly located just far enough out of the noisy, party zones of downtown but an easy walk of a block to 5th ave or the beach in the opposite direction. Felt very safe at all times and has friendly security guards watching over the building 24/7.
Looking forward to our return later this fall to our home away from home.
Thank you Sue and Brent. We are so glad that you ventured out away from an all-inclusive and enjoyed your stay in our Penthouse. We loved having you and look forward to your return in the fall! Bring the whole family!
See you soon...
Another great stay!
We just returned home from another month long stay at this wonderful vacation condo. Tracy and Georgios are friendly and attentive hosts who will ensure that everything is just so. The kitchen is modern and equipped with everything you’ll need. Linens are plentiful and regular cleaning services make for a care free stay. The condo has a lovely open air feeling with lots of natural light. It is furnished with stylish, comfortable furniture. We especially appreciate the private rooftop terrace that has a lovely eating area, suntan area with beds, Jacuzzi, and covered sitting area. It also provides easy access to the common area rooftop pool. There are tons of excellent restaurants and shops (including grocery stores) within easy walking distance and the beach is a short 5 min walk away. We highly recommend staying at this charming vacation property.
Thank you Randy and Neil!! You know how much we love having you. We are looking forward to seeing you again next year. In the meantime...happy travels!
Tracy & Georgios
GREAT Penthouse with beautiful, private solarium!
What a great place! This trip was just for me to relax and what better place than Tracy's penthouse. It has all the comforts of home and the private rooftop solarium was so relaxing-
it is very quite and private and has beautiful jungle views. Playa is an amazing place to spend time alone or with family and friends. It offers an array of restaurants, shops, cafes, etc.. - all with one block from the Penthouse and the beach is also only one block away. So much to see and do or just spend time in this wonderful penthouse, enjoying...Thank you for your warm hospitality! See you in a few months! Allison
So glad you got to relax...We are looking forward to seeing you again!
Our Meridian PH is located on 40th St. at the North end of Playa and faces an unobstructed view of jungle to the South and ocean views to the East. Just 1.5 blocks to the East are the beautiful powder, white sandy beaches where you will find restaurants, live music, beach volleyball, incredible snorkeling (as Playa del Carmen sits in front of the 2nd largest reef), kiteboarding, beach clubs, jet skiing and Hobie cats to rent. A short, 20 minute walk along the beach to the North brings you to the Grand Coral/Mareazul Beach Club, which features a pool, beach chairs and beds, as well as a full restaurant/bar. On your walk back, (just after Coco Bay's Reef Club) stop in at Cannibal Royal's 3 level, '50's style beach bar and restaurant, which serves fantastic seafood creations, as well as homemade pizza. Las Palapas beach, just to the South offers a cozy, sunken beach bar on the sand with Happy Hour daily. If you're in the mood for something more 'trendy', don't miss Mamitas Beach Club, which often hosts nightly live concerts-at no cost! Another great beach venue is Wah Wahs restaurant and bar, which features live music daily, outstanding baby back ribs and always has the big sports game on their gigantic TV. La Quinta Avenida (5th Ave), less than 2 blocks from the PH is filled with restaurants on both sides, all the way to the end of 5th (20 blocks) offering every type of cuisine imaginable, including wine bars, wine pairing menus, a World Beer Club, French, Italian, Argentinean cuisine, to name a few. You will find different options from Uruguay to Germany to Tokyo and of course Playa offers some of the best authentic Mexican cuisine. Some of my favorites include: Piolas for Pizza, Cuevo de Chango for breakfast + atmosphere, Diez for Argentinean meats, Como Como for excellent food with a menu that changes frequently, La Casa del Agua for it's International cuisine and ambiance, Ah Cacao is a must for their home-made brownies and chocolate mousse, La Bodeguita del Medio, a lively Cuban restaurant, just up the street on 5th and 36th featuries live music, salsa and to die for Mojitos. Although not on the main drag, do try Aguas Chiles on 38 St and 25th Ave - I recommend everything on the menu. Most of the restaurants are open for dinner as late midnight. As far as fun, local bars go, Dirty Martini (1st Ave/10th St) is great for Martinis and mingling and Fusion on the beach at 6th St has live bands, food and fabulous mixed drinks. Kitxten on 5th and 26th is known for it's live rock bands. For a real treat, be sure to visit 'Alux' a real underground cenote (cave) restaurant and bar - don't forget your camera! La Quinta Avenida has an eclectic array of shopping from local and traditional hand-made pieces to funky and upscale items. If your passion is snorkeling or scuba diving be sure to take the ferry (Juarez and beach pier) to Cozumel for the day-as it's noted to be some of the best in the world! An alternative is Soloman Bay in Akumal (about 30 minutes South of Playa). Should you fancy water parks, the Riviera Maya offers the most exquisite, natural water parks I have ever experienced: XPLOR is fabulous for zip-lining, cenotes and adventure, XCARET offers cenote tours, a zoo, botanical gardens, several restaurants and their 'famous' Mayan show in the early evening, XEL-HA is a magical place surrounded by water and jungle and a park where you can swim with the dolphins. When you're tired of eating out, do your shopping at MEGA or Walmart; both offer groceries like you would find at home and are only a 15 minute walk and a 5 minute taxi ride back. DAC on 30th Ave and Constituyentes is a must for fresh fruits and vegetables, spices and homemade bread. Another option on CTM (46th St and 15th Ave. on the North side) is Esmeralda's-here you will find fresh fruits and vegetables and they will make you fresh squeezed juices, as well as fresh coconut water; the new 'it' water. Transportation is a breeze in PDC; one can walk almost anywhere, taxi's are everywhere and 'cheap' (do ask the price before committing), there are plenty of rental car places for adventuring outside of Playa and there's always the 'colectivos' (public transportation) that will take you virtually anywhere, including Puerto Aventuras, Akumal and Tulum for about $10USD. Playa has several tour companies who will arrange to pick you up and take you on day excursions. Planning a trip to Cancun, take the ADO air-conditioned bus. The beauty of the Riviera Maya is that it offers endless pleasure: you can enjoy it sunbathing at the roof top pool, bronzing on the pristine beaches, zip-lining in the jungla (jungle), cave diving, spear fishing or simply enjoying your margaritas in your private solarium jacuzzi. Once you've experienced Playa, you'll be sure to visit again! So...enjoy and indulge our paradise! For more detailed information to suit your personal needs, please advise and I'll do my best to suffice.
