Yet, it is only a 5 minute drive to the City Center, Pearl and NW Alphabet District, Zoo, Washington Park and Forest Park. From here, you also have easy access to the Nike Campus, St. Vincent Hospital and the western Metro area.
Another bonus, the house is now outfitted with all Tempur Pedic Supreme medium firm mattresses.
The house is filled with art, reflecting our international travel interest, and is full of visual treats for everyone.
I built this house 25+ years ago. It was designed by an architect who favors the Northwest Style of light, airy, open to nature, but compact and simple in its execution. It is a joy to be in this space.
Beautiful park like setting, quiet and peaceful. Amazingly close to downtown and the favorite places in the Portland area. We constantly receive nice feedback about the ambiance and cleanliness.
NOTE RE: FIREPLACE. The fireplace is available for use. I prefer using the packaged logs and will provide one for your stay. The Birch is only decorative. Please make sure the flu is open and burn only 1 log at a time.
NOTE RE: BEDROOMS and BATHROOMS: All the bedrooms nad bathrooms are on the lower level requiring steps (14).

Local Services & Businesses
It was wonderful. We were surprised there was no bathroom on the main floor, but there are two downstairs. Thanks for having us.
Thank you Carol for allowing us to stay in your beautiful, cozy home. We had a fabulous time exploring Portland and Hillsboro. There is so much to do and the best places to eat. Blue Star doughnuts is a must! We are so looking forward to coming back in the fall! Thank you again!
Beautiful, peaceful place
Great location, a short drive from downtown, and beautiful surroundings. Friendly host, clean house, comfortable beds, and entertaining art pieces to enjoy all around the house. We had a great visit to Portland. It was nice to have a place to park the car too!
Very Positive Experience
The home is very close to the border between Beaverton and Portland. It made it easy for us to see our family in Beaverton, and have quick access to the wedding venue at the World Forestry Center. Also, Carol was very prompt and responsive when we had some initials issues with the heat. She quickly resolved the problem, and went exceeded our expectations.
We (five adults) slept very comfortably. The only thing for future visitors to note is there is no bathroom on the main floor. All the bathrooms are downstairs. For my father, with some mobility issues, due to Parkinson's Disease, this was a minor difficulty.
The home was beautiful, it felt a little like a tree house with all the windows and beautiful trees to look at. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.
Roomy, clean, well-stocked. Loved having satellite TV and wifi. The grounds are beautiful. We would recommend this property.

Rates & Availability
Additional information about rental rates
Nightly rate is based on 4 person occupancy. Each additional person above 4 to the limit of 8 is an extra $10 per night. Will accept 3 night rental in June. I prefer that renters buy a security deposit policy rather than paying a $1500 security deposit that has a fee close to the price of the policy.
