Amazing week at villa mora
Perfect for our family and friends. Very well kept up, clean and comfortable. Kitchen and bbq were great and we enjoyed cooking most of our meals at home. Easily accessible to everything but private and away from crowds/ cruise boats. Kayaking was best early in the morning. Pool was fabulous.great stay!
Thank you for your thoughtful review. So glad you had a nice stay. We appreciate your stay and hope you can return back soon!
Grand Cayman Villas
Villa Mora was spectacular! Spectacular views from every bedroom. Great way to begin each day!
Our trip to Grand Cayman was a Christmas gift we gave to our children, their spouses and grandchildren. We were 10 total. What a great venue for all of us. The main living area provided views of the pool, cabana, and private beach through the ceiling to floor sliding glass doors! It was breathtaking! There was plenty of space for all of us to gather inside or out, and plenty of room to simply find a quiet area to relax, read or catch up one on one, We had the most wonderful time. Villa Mora surpassed all our expectations!
Villa Mora was excellent!!!!!!!
We stayed a week with our families and we got married on the property, it was beautiful, the house has everything you need. Lots of room for everyone. Pool and the Jacuzzi were great, we didn't use the beach area much but it was beautiful.
Thank you for your kind response.
Swimming, snorkeling and kayaking are very nice once you are 75 feet off shore. Very slow change in depth out the first 75 feet.
Smith Embarcadere and 7 Mile Beach are nearby as well.Scott

Christmas at Villa Mora!!!
We arrived in Grand Cayman Saturday, December 17th and 18th after a not so wonderful travel experience. What a pleasure to arrive to the warmth and sunshine after leaving sub zero temps and icy conditions in Kansas City. When we finally got to Villa Mora, it was everything we had hoped it would be! The South Sound location was perfect, not too close to the 7 Mile Beach crowds, but close to the things we needed such as the grocery store and the dive shops. The house is amazing! Yes, there are some minor issues that need to be dealt with as with any home, but they certainly did not hinder our fun! We spent more time at the Villa then we expected as it was hard to leave perfection! The villa was nicely stocked with what we needed for kitchen wares, towels, cleaning supplies etc. The website says no crib, but in fact there was one. We had one baby, one toddler and a total of 4 kids under 6, so we needed lots of stuff! Chet with Empty Suitcases took care of all our extra needs and was awesome. Everything from cribs to car seats to kayaks! Kirks delivered our groceries on schedule with help from Pam, the house manager, so when the first group of kiddos arrived late Saturday, food was on hand! The bedrooms are spacious, two of the baths were heavenly! We spent many an evening sitting outside on the outer patio area looking at the brightest stars! The pool was great, the hot tub a bit unpredictable, but still good for a hang out spot. There is plenty of room for frisbee, kites and other games on the lawn. The beach is a bit rough, lots of dried sea grass and such, but you can make a path and wander up the beach. It is not a snorkeling location! But Smith\'s Cove isn\'t far. The Hobie sailboat we rented from Chet was a highlight, such a beautiful area of the island and views of the real estate from the sea! Already planning our return next year! We had 3 generations and each of us was so sad to leave!
Villa Mora has lovely amenities but there is no swimming or snorkelling from the beach. As of Oct 2016, the sea grass starts at the shore and grows out through the top of the water. You cannot swim over it, because it scrapes your face, is covered if fuzzy algae and it smells of sulphur (rotten eggs). Putting on wetsuit boots, you can walk over the top of it for 15 minutes and still not reach the end. We later kayaked out, but the snorkelling is poor and there is not much to see. For the effort, you’d be much better going elsewhere, e.g. Smiths Cove, Sports Beach. Further, the beach in front of the house is covered in mounds of dead sea grass that washes up each morning, which is not pictured on the site. They clean the beach before you arrive, but by Day 3 it was covered again. We asked to move, as we have a baby and toddler, and needed stay close to the house with a beach we could play on/swim from (the outings to nearby beaches were a big hassle). Jim Leavitt was not only unhelpful but hostile, said that he was a lawyer, that what we said about the sea grass was simply untrue and that if we moved we would not be refunded. Family flew in from the US and UK, and we had been looking forward to this for 6 months, so we were very disappointed with our experience. The house is also for sale, so you will find many things not working properly, the hot tub either runs too hot (107 degrees) or too cold. Pam and Paula the property managers were helpful and responsive. Eddie runs a great grocery delivery service. If you have a big party, the locals recommended other houses with other agencies, including Coral Reef house at Cayman Villas. Do not go to Rum Point/Cayman Kai, as it is 1-hr drive from everything else, and the water is rough with strong currents for much of the year. We dove out of the West Bay with Living the Dream, and the sites were sensational.
Karen, sorry for your disappointment. Villa Mora does have lovely amenities, but management and the owners cannot control mother nature. Sea grass comes and goes with storms and seasons. This October water levels have been unusually low and more sea grass exposed. If you walked 15 minutes you would have been in 6000' of water. Snorkeling is very good at Villa Mora as reviews other sites can attest. The beach was cleaned prior to your arrival.
You failed to mention that you threatened to write negative reviews unless "we worked with you", which we did when we had the owner provide you with kayaks at the owner's expense. You were obviously looking for a perfect sandy beach, like 7 mile beach.
Many homes are for sale and still rent. Anything not working properly should have been reported to the local manager, and were not.
You failed to mention that you thought the tub too hot for your infant and toddler. WHO PUTS INFANTS AND TODDLERS IN HOT TUBS? Even still Pam had the temp turned down for you.
Coral Reef would have been a fine option for you. You paid $1360 per night for Villa More and Coral Reef rents for $3400 per night. Rum Point/Cayman Kai is the second most popular part of the island to 7 mile beach - as testified by thousands of reviews on all booking sites. The island is only 22 miles wide - you are never an hour away from anything at Villa Mora. West Bay is a cliff side of the island - guarantee you would have complaints there. It is also the hotspot for petty crime on the island. Google it!
You were simply looking for a 7 mile beach vacation at an off-7 mile beach price. Sorry you were disappointed.
beautiful home--the view can't be beat
This house is great for large family vacations, with several separate sleeping areas so everyone has personal space, and large comfortable living areas with beautiful views. It's in a very quiet area, feels like you are in a little paradise garden all your own, and there are no hordes of tourists around, which we loved.
However, you can't swim in the sea in front of the house, so you'll have to load everyone and coolers, beach umbrellas etc into the car and go somewhere else if you want to swim or snorkel in the sea. Not a huge problem, just something to plan for. We enjoyed the large swimming pool at the house, as well as going to Smith's Barcadere and Governor's Beach during our stay.
Your trip must have come at unseasonably low tide. Guests swim at Villa Mora all the time. The first 50-75 feet are very shallow, but once you are in knee deep water, you can swim. The coral reef is a god ways offshore and breaks down larger waves and currents creating a nice marine environment for snorkeling, swimming and kayaking.
To say you can't swim is incorrect.
Grand Cayman Villas
While Grand Cayman is only 22 miles wide some guests prefer to be closer to Georgetown and Seven Mile Beach for day trips. Villa Mora is only 5-10 minutes from George Town and the beaches on the west coast of the island. The villa enjoys a sandy beach area, however, guests need to be mindful that this is a marine area with a coral reef and wading in the water will require hard-soled pool shoes or fins.
This is not the perfect barefoot beach for swimming. It is a marine environment and protected. One can walk either way on the beach and barely see a soul. This is a residential neighborhood and not a tourist area.
The south of the island usually enjoys a pleasant gentle breeze that keeps any insects at bay and obviates the need for a screened porch.
Driving west of the house will take you towards George Town and there is a very nice spot called Smith Cove with barefoot swimming and snorkeling. Dart Beach is also there as well and open to the public. For more barefoot swimming on 7 Mile Beach, you can swim at Royal Palms, Governor's Beach, the "Public " Beach (all beaches are technically public) and Tiki Beach near the Kimpton, as well as snorkel at Cemetery Reef.
Nice beach with an amazing views. Excellent snorkeling out at the reef. Shallow water with sea grass entry. Nice for kayaking and paddle boarding. Swimmable once the water is deep enough.
