Why Katy Kattelman chose Harlem
I love this brownstone for it's original detail, woodwork, fireplaces, pocket doors and lovely entry. I love this neighborhood where I can walk everywhere, know my neighbors and can easily access any area of New York, Brooklyn or Queens. The brownstone is off the main avenue and is surprisingly quiet for a New York City home.
What makes this Apartment unique
When I first walked into the beautiful entry of my brownstone I fell in love with the high ceilings and chandelier in the entry way. The parlor floor (where we live) has intricately carved mantels above the tiled fireplaces. There is a fire screen in the living room that is an art nouveau work of art.

Central Harlem is a bustling, vibrant community which is ethnically diverse, safe and historically important. Many restaurants including Sylvia's Soul restaurant, Red Rooster and Chez Lucienne are literally right around the corner. There are many churches in the area, some were formerly synagogues and many have special tours for individuals and groups interested in Gospel Music. There are hidden gems like the WPA murals in Harlem Hospital, great photos in the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and the beautiful Marcus Garvey Park all for free and all in walking distance. Transportation is a breeze with 5th Avenue bus one block away to take you to museums such as the Met or the Frick. The 2 or 3 subway line is on the corner so Time Square is less than 10 minutes away. In Spring or Summer Central Park is a walk away, so many more sites to see that I cannot list them all but would be delighted to share my Harlem to all my visitors. Y'all come.
