This house has so much to offer. Our family of seven stayed and we had so much space. The house is fantastic, but you won’t want to spend much time inside if the weather is nice because the outside is amazing!! The outside sitting areas, the gorgeous fire pit, the beautiful dock and sandy beach and best of all the spectacular views make this house perfect for a vacation.
Beautiful lakefront home for a family!
Great kitchen, great layout, and great outdoor space.

Location, Location, Location…., Views, Views, Incredible Views from everywhere in the house or on the grounds!
We have rented for 20 years all over Lake George and this is the best all-around house we have ever found. This summer will be our 3rd rental at “Stonehaven”
We have an annual 3 generational family vacation, my father is now 93 and had a blast with his grandchildren, lots of flat open areas and the choice of taking stairs or sloped walkways everywhere. The driveway allows you to drive to the front door and unload or park on the upper driveway and walk down the massive stone walkway. The open floor plan enabled us to be together and was spacious enough to enable everyone to get their own solitude or quiet time.
The brand new dock is perfect as it complements the private sandy beach, we spread out during the day, always a shady spot or a sunny spot to relax from. Seemed we were all rotating between the U Shaped Dock, swimming out to the floating dock, or playing on the sandy beach or lawn discussing what was the best spot. They are all fantastic!
The gardens and flowers beds are spectacular, there is a sprinkler system for the entire property and even for the potted flowers on the bluestone patio, so there were blooming flowers everywhere and the grass was lush.
We had a great time on the tiered blue stone patio with an outdoor kitchen, which also had a sink, and refrigerator for the “Men” to BBQ and enjoy their cocktails all while watching a fire, sunset, boating, and the kids playing on the lawn after they were waterlogged from playing in the lake all day. Cooking outside on the grill was something everyone looked forward to and then eating outside on the patio.
The fireplace on the patio is an experience we enjoyed every night, watching the sunset, or stars, the kids enjoyed being on the beach alone with their own fire in a firepit.
It’s more beautiful and relaxing than the pictures, we have wonderful memories and are looking forward to returning again next summer! Just completed our booking for 2016.
We vacationed at Stonehaven with another family, 10 of us in total. We absolutely loved this gorgeous home. The views of the lake are stunning and there are plenty of places from which to enjoy them. We had our morning coffee on the deck, enjoyed cookouts on the terrace, and in the evening we enjoyed cocktails on the dock. There is a little beach area which is perfect for sitting and reading or watching the kids as they swim off the dock or swim platform. When we weren't boating or swimming, we enjoyed the lawn with games of badminton and KanJam. I've vacationed at Lake George before but I think this kind of yard and lake frontage is pretty rare.
The rooms were nice, plenty of updated bathrooms. The house was large enough for everyone to hang out together, or spend time apart. So our one rainy day was not a problem at all, even with 6 kids in the house.
While we didn't spend a lot of time indoors, we did spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I LOVED this kitchen. Huge fridge, no worries storing enough food for 10+ and a large pantry, which was convenient as we brought most of our food. There is a Walmart about 10-15 minutes away with a full grocery section, otherwise you will travel a bit for a different grocery store. The cooktop is huge and makes it easy to put out a big meal for 2 families.
We went to Adirondack Extreme in Bolton's landing, which is about an hour away, but so worth the trip. The kids loved navigating the obstacle courses among the treetops.
We put the boat in at the southern part of the lake, Pilot Knob. There is a public boat ramp closer to the house, but since we brought 4 cars, it would have been a little tight storing the trailer in the driveway. While we enjoyed this house completely, it may not be the best choice for the very elderly or infirm as there are a LOT of steps from the driveway to the house and from the house to the water. Once again, not a problem for us, but if stairs are a problem you may want to think twice.
Finally, Jon was great to deal with. We had only one minor problem with Wi-Fi and he was quick to respond. BTW, Mac users want to be sure to empty your cache before logging in and should probably use firefox.
I will end this review by mentioning how we ended most of our days at Stonehaven...with the outdoor fireplace. Smores and a fire were just the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this house and hope to return to Stonehaven soon!
