Overview

About the property

Cabin, Studio + Bunk Area, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5)

It is the only available cabin for lease on the river and it has a 70 foot floating dock which has room for multiple boat tie ups there with your stay. The cabin is approximately 550 square feet. It has a queen sleeper sofa, a set of twin bunk beds and a trundle bed. The cabin has been refurbished this past year and is ready for reservations.

The Roanoke River is considered by many fishermen to be one of the best fishing destinations anywhere especially for striped bass (also known as rockfish). The Roanoke River is a sports person's paradise. Each spring the Roanoke River comes alive with activity during the annual Striped Bass Run. Beginning in Mid-March and running through June, this exciting fishery has been featured in Field & Stream, Carolina Adventure, Southern Outdoors and on Fly Fishing America, and Walkers Cay Chronicles.

In the summer the river becomes a great place to enjoy the quiet nature and scenic beauty of the environment. For fishing, canoes, or kayaks, the setting is ideal. The property is located at the fall zone for North Carolina between the piedmont to the coastal plains area and offers in some parts of the river class one and two rapids depending on the river flow. In the fall, the cabin becomes a excellent location for basing your hunting trips along the Roanoke River Basin.

Some updates, close to floating dock for great fishing, overall clean.

My husband and i took our two boys ages 10 and 12 to the cabin for 4 days, loved it. We enjoyed the neighbors, the nearby towns, the museums, parks, fishing was awesome. Even though it could use some more updates, we will be returning and we are thoroughly happy with our stay and mom was right there to help us in any way she is a special lady. If we could buy the house down down the street we would be moving, thats how much we enjoyed our stay. My husband called several friends and family planning future trips. Its not the Ritz Carlton , its a fishermans dream and that exactly what we wanted. Good fishing, family time, and local fun.

Fishing Cabin

  • 4 of 5

This is a great little place if you aren't looking for anything fancy. Took the husband and our three boys for a weekend before school starts just for some fishing and relaxation. There was plenty of room for the five of us. Had all that necessary necessities. A good place for the kids to get away from video games and television. This is definitely for the fisherman needing just a place to crash when Rockfish is in. The owner was very helpful and responded to all my questions in a timely manner. If you are not expecting the Ritz Carlton you will be fine. I would have given 5 stars but there was a mouse who has taken residence there as well and I know some folks may not like mice, didn't bother us too much.
