I am Fulfilling a desire of Providing The Cleanest Hotel and most economical Accommodations somewhere near the Ocean. I was raised as a child on the beaches of Waikiki on the Island of Oahu. I have always enjoyed being next to the sea shore somewhere. I enjoy the sun shine and sound of the waves on the shore line.
RESERVATONIST-EMMA, LILLY, MARILYN AND DON purchased this hotel in 2002
Fate must truly have a hand of providing me the opportunity to enjoy fulfilling my desires. This Reeds Bay Resort Hotel Property has had all the ingredients necessary to provide for the present and for our future business it is truly the best for you and your family's enjoyment. In Real Estate Terms as to our property location it does have the best of all the three major areas as to ...Location! Location! Location!
The word 'JOY' has been a major by-product of all the efforts put into this hotel project from Day-One by all the employees and associates as well as the many Hotel Guests that live here and have stayed here at Reeds Bay Hotel. We as a family here enjoy the Aloha shared by all the people's lives that have crossed paths here..
This is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in, behind the beds, under desks, in the cupboards, the whole bathroom was spotless. Also nothing was shabby in my room. The staff was great and the maids were very kind and considerate. The price was great! I will definitely stay here again when I go back to Hilo.
Not impressed. No A/c. Small rooms, no kitchenettes and very crude. Felt you were living in a hostel not condo
Property was very clean, you get all of the amenities, just ask at the front desk. Maid service and front desk very professional and helpful.
Easy to get to the volcanoes, botanical gardens, state parks and Ken's pancake house. We will definitely be back.
I stayed here for a week while getting my son to school at UH. The view was spectacular, especially on clear nights. You can hear the surf all day, and crickets chirping (also frogs, etc). Everything was very clean and comfortable, the maid even did our dishes! The only downfall was no AC. But there are two fans, and only one night was it unbearably hot. Also a blow dryer would be a plus. With AC I would have given it a five star. Mahalo, I did love my stay!
Our nine-night stay at Hilo Reeds Bay was perfect for us. The price was much better than we expected. The rooms were clean and well maintained during our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful view of and access to Hilo Bay and was walking distance from several very good restaurants. We were centrally located to access many of the sites and attractions on that side of the Island. There is no a/c in the rooms but it stays comfortable with the ceiling fan and oscillating fan as we weren't in the room except to crash after a busy day exploring the Island. It was a little burdensome dragging our over-packed suitcases up the two flights of stairs but coming down was easier. There was a very pleasant breeze that blew through the lobby and through the hallways so you didn't miss the elevator that much.
The owner provided all the information we needed prior to our arrival. We arrived rather late to the hotel and the desk staff was friendly and had everything ready for us. There is no charge for parking. The unit was older, but it was clean and comfortable. We fell asleep to the sound of singing frogs and ocean waves. There is a nice park nearby (within walking distance) with beautiful trees, flowers, and birds. Also, there are several restaurants that are close, either by car or, if you like to walk, not too far.
As stated previously, the hotel is older, but renovations were in progress, as is the same with many of the other hotels in the area. We were happy with the location (we had a rental car) because it was convenient to parks, attractions (like Rainbow Falls, Kaumana Caves, Akaka Falls), and also close to the airport. Everyone we met there was friendly and helpful. My husband and I like to walk and we felt very comfortable walking around the area. We would stay here again.
Only 35 minutes to the Volcano National Park, 10 minutes to the Zoo view the white tiger, golfing across the street, 10 minutes to the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory' And Enjoy a visit to Our Local Farmers Market, Tsunami Museum, the Lyman Museum (Hawaiian Historical information) and the Waterfalls.
