A breathtaking neighborhood full of haciendas and family owned homes. La Floresta is a tree lined neighborhood where folks nod as they pass by. When the glorious Jacaranda trees are in bloom they turn all of Floresta violet. It's the first sign of spring that tells you you're in paradise.

Sit on your private patio with a cool drink and a song in your heart. Here in Floresta it's peaceful and serene. You can be as busy or as lazy as you want.

Only a 2 minute stroll to glorious Lake Chapala and the Camino Real Hotel for fine dining, cocktails or a fabulous country breakfast while gazing at the lake.

In the other direction, a minutes stroll to the Wednesday open market, 'Tianges' or a short walk to either El Toredo or Superlake for U.S and Mexican food & goods.

Here in Ajijic, our small local markets 'tiendas' offer local fruits vegetables and other Mexican products.

DON'T FORGET to wash all fruits & vegetables with Albiosan (Iodine) provided under your kitchen sink. A few drops will do ya.

Soak in a tub of our purified water from our purified water system for 15 minutes. Berries only 5 minutes. Then wash off with same clear drinking water and PRESTO!! You're ready to go...

Need your laundry done? Another short stroll to drop it off and to pick up later. In the meantime, wander down toward the lake to the Horse Trail for a ride.

Most restaurants are at your reach so there's no need for a car. If necessary, taxi's are available to and from your door. If you do have a car, there's plenty of safe street parking. Our security guards drive the neighborhood 24 hours a day.

Hire a bilingual, secure driver for a long day trip or the bus at the corner will take you wherever you want to go even into Guadalajara to the museums, opera, music and giant marketplaces, from electronics to folk art.

Looking for something special? Wander into downtown Ajijic Village (Pueblo) and find that unique item while stopping to have a margarita or homemade ice cream on the Plaza.

They say the best weather in the world is here, so come for a week or come for a month and find out for yourself.

Why The Owner chose Ajijic

We grew up in So. California where the weather was always mild. We've traveled extensively and always came back to Ajijic. We have now built our dream home here in Ajijic along with our delightful and sublime casita.

Since the weather is so perfect here, we've decided to rent our casita to the discerning traveler who would like to explore and experience the flavor of Mexico in a safe and contained environment. To enjoy and fall in love with this area, learn about the Mexican culture and realize a slower pace.

What makes this apartment unique

Bird watching is easy at the casita among the many trees. The casita sits up among them like a nest. It's VERY private.

The large kitchen is convenient for communal cooking and visiting with company or family. Sit outside and dine in the lovely night air. Stroll down to the lake through our charming streets.

Whether watching the birds or listening to your iPod or reading, it's graceful, clean and we've paid attention to every detail.

a restful haven

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Casita in lower Floresta. Simohn and Jeffrey were wonderful hosts; very concerned about our comfort without being over bearing. Any minor situations that came up were dealt with immediately and a positive outcome achieved. Over all it was a fantastic, if too short, two week stay.

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT CASITA, PERFECT HOSTS

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 10 nights in this casita in beautiful La Floresta. Our thoughtful hosts left us staples—bread, eggs, coffee, juice—to get us started, so we didn’t have to rush to find a market after a long day of travel. Their warm, hospitable daughter greeted us and explained everything about the casita and area. She was available when we needed her or had questions, but never intrusive. We felt like we were in a private little home of our own.

The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator and stove, so we were able to enjoy several meals, including many leftovers from delicious dinners in the neighborhood.

We walked to many places—Wed. market, restaurants, etc—and Ajijic is getting more and more Uber drivers, which makes it even better for getting around at night. We felt safe wherever we went.

Quality in Ajijic - 'The Perfect Casita" is 6 stars!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I just spent 2 months in "The Perfect Casita". Its position in beautiful Lower Floresta of Ajijic is the first bonus. The surroundings were quiet, colourful and safe while the sounds of birds afforded us melodious company. Inside, the casita itself was clean and well-designed - perfect for a couple. We ate most breakfasts & many dinners either in the spacious kitchen or on the lovely terrace. Being Italo-Canadians, this was definitely a plus! The bedroom was airy, with a very comfortable bed & plenty of storage space. The bathroom was extremely functional and the sitting room was cosy. Simohn & Jefferey were the perfect hosts - present upon arrival & always there if/when needed. We will definitely be back! Staying in "The Perfect Casita" is an amazing way to discover this lovely village.

A perfect " home away from home "

  • 5 of 5

The Perfect Casita's location in La Floresta, Ajijic is in a quiet residential area accentuated with large and numerous deciduous trees. We walked almost daily to the Central Plaza along the cobble stone streets, discovering little shops, restaurants, coffee houses and bakeries along the way. The Plaza is very near the Malecon along Lake Chapala. In addition the Perfect Casita is just a short walk to the Carretera (main highway along the lake) where one can access the local buses to other lake towns. A few minutes walk along the Carretera allows one to reach two large N.A. type shopping stores. The Perfect Casita is very nicely appointed with attractive and solid cabinetry. It is very comfortable with plenty of space for two individuals. Every thing that we needed was available in the Casita. Our hosts, Simhon and Jefferey welcomed us upon our arrival and were very helpful in describing Ajijic and always responded positively to any request or question that we had. Otherwise they allowed us to enjoy and explore independently. Our one month stay at the Perfect Casita was enhanced by the perfect weather in Ajijic.

Facilities in the casita have only improved

  • 5 of 5

This is our second week-long stay in this first-class casita offered by Simohn and Jefferey. It is all finished and furnished at a level which seems equivalent to the hosts' residence itself. The TV has been replaced with a new flat screen model and access is provided to the Apple TV service. We found this gave us access to valued news channels and great movies and TV series. Thank you once again Simohn and Jefferey!
