Beautiful Seneca Lake
No mistake, this is a small cottage. But what else does anyone need for a couple of people. The outdoor space was worth it. The location is priceless!!! You can literally just walk into the water, grill and dine inside or outside. And you can wrap up the evening with a nice fire. I had a wonderful time! Thanks Judy♡
Our stay was wonderful. We had everything we needrd and was centrally located to all the great activites on Seneca lake. We had coffee on the deck watching the sunrise. The beautiful lake was right at our door. Heaven in a rustic getaway house. Thanks Judy it was a pleasure.
Great Time on Seneca Lake
Extremely well maintained property. It is easy to tell that Judy really cares about the property; she has even paved a location to park; others on the shared gravel road have not bothered. The paved portion makes it easier to get in and out.
The cottage is small and clean as advertised and the outdoor living space is bountiful. We had a great time staying for our honeymoon / Musselman race weekend. The neighbors were very friendly. We loved having the lake access and the location was great. Not too far away from Geneva where the race was and close to a couple ice cream spots.
The four stars for location - is for the gravel path and turning around near the train tracks (the train itself, wasn't memorable,) at the same time being at the end of the gravel road was great because no one drove by us.
My only regret is that I did not bring my water shoes, as the entrance/exit into the water is rocky, as typical on lakes; I should have expected this. You can enter from the dock however it is difficult to pull yourself out of the water.
Judy’s tiny cottage was adorable and the perfect getaway for the 4th—great location right on the lake too! Judy was also extremely helpful with regards to check in. Much appreciated and if we’re ever back in the area, we will definitely want to stay here again.
This was the worse place I have seen, we DID NOT STAYED!! TRY TO CONTACT THE OWNER BY PHONE & BY TEXT & RECEIVED NO ANSWER!! I also called your site & was on hold for 21minutes!! I was traveling for my grandson's graduation & spend half of the day trying to get in touch with you people, the owner of the house & finding another place to stay!! The worse experience we have ever had!! Of course we did not stay!!
We took pictures of the place, it was filty!! Broken shutters that have never been clean, bathroom was dirty, very small & the shower had rust spots, the whole place smelled like mildew & musty, I took pictures also of bugs on the kitchen floor & wall. I expect a refund from your company & the owner.
It's important that I respond to this review. When this reservation was made she thought it was closer to keuka college in Penn Yan. When she found it wasn't I told her I was happy to cancel and she could find someplace closer. It took her a month to respond and then she said it was too late. Fact is, she didn't want to stay here and is simply looking to get her money back. She claims to have called both my cell phone and home phone the Friday she arrived. I was home that entire night and did not receive a single call!! I communicated with her on Sunday. She tells me they found a place to stay closer which was probably always her intention. Then she says a rat ran by her at the cottage. We don't have rats. It was a squirrel. She tells me the man that was going to be sharing the cottage with them is 6 feet tall and could not have slept upstairs. I clearly advertise it is a sleeping loft with low overhead. My husband is 6 feet 1 inch and can sleep upstairs fine. Then she tells me there were cockroaches and she has proof. We don't have cockroaches at all!! The pictures were 3 black ants. I had Orkin spray 1.5 weeks before her arrival. They spray because of black ants. These were a residual of that spray as they were dying off. She then said the bathroom was too small. The pictures on the site clearly show the bathroom is small but certainly enough room to accommodate any individual. That is why this is listed as tiny living. And rather than argue with her I processed a 75% refund even though the rental agreement states once you arrive there will be no refund. But this isn't good enough for her. She wants it all back and expects me to pay for the higher cost she had to pay where she stayed. I think this all speaks for itself. She wasn't going to be happy there regardless. She also said her husband didn't feel the entry to the cottage was safe. The list goes on. The cottage was clean as I clean it myself with a helper. All bedding and recliner covers were freshly laundered as were towels and rugs. There is no mold in the shower. These are all new accusations to make the cottage appear bad. It's just a shame the length a person will go through to get money. When already I keep my rates lower than others to make it affordable and because it is tiny. Judy Mahoney-Benzer
Best vacation spot
We were extremely happy, the property was exactly as advertised. The location was gorgeous! We fed baby geese from the dock, watched the Herron feed, collected sea glass, swam, grilled, sat by the fire, attended a Geneva Red Wings game, visited a winery, and much more. Judy added so much to the cottage with all of her extra provisions, it felt just like home! Our dog was equally impressed! Thanks so much for everything Judy, it was a pleasure meeting you!
We are located on the Wine Trail and have many wineries nearby. Also local Mennonite Farms where you can purchase fresh produce, homemade items, quilts. Seneca Lake Country Club Golf Course just down the road as well as local restaurants and pubs. Famous Watkins Glen Raceway and Falls just 40 minutes away. Canandaigua's Sonnenberg Gardens 20 minutes away. Boat tours and rentals on waterfront in Geneva.
