My last new renter couldn't believe how clean and new everything was! She loved all of the little extras! She hadn't joined her husband and sons in the past because she didn't want to stay in a rental cabin. Now she can hardly wait to come back!
Keywords: Literally walk out of this charming cabin onto a sand beach with beautiful sunsets! Swimming area is hard packed sand bottom with visibility to 14 feet! Depth is very gradual and ideal for small children!
I love the lake! Many of my wonderful childhood memories are from summers spent on this very lake! Each summer our family makes a trip to Itasca State park. We kayak, ride bikes to the headwaters, 'walk across the Mississippi', take family photos of us all sitting on the log bridge and dine at Douglas Lodge. It is tradition!
Betsy Peterson purchased this cabin in 2005
This particular cabin has a wonderful swimming area-all of it! You can swim out for 200-250 feet from shore and still see bottom! It is a hard packed sand bottom with very few if any weeds. What little weeds are there are found out quite a ways and are compact and low to the lake bottom.
Perfect for young children and those who enjoy spending time in and on the water:)
The sunsets from this beach are stunning!
Spacious, very clean, beautiful location. Sunsets magnificent! Great shower 😊 spacious living and sunroom area, comfortable new furniture. Nice beach area, clean clear water and basically no weeds! My family has been renting cabins each summer for many years, and this is by far the nicest and most comfortable.
The house was immaculate and right on a beautiful beach. The owner couldn't have been more helpful - she gave us great tips for local activities and she even left crafts for my girls by the door on a rainy day. The house comes with a paddle boat and kayak and we rented a canoe just up the road. Kabekona Lake is a clear, beautiful lake and it's fun because it's connected to other lakes via channels so it makes for great canoeing. I highly recommend it.
This cabin is great! VERY clean and everything looked and felt brand new! From the towels and sheets to the coffee pot... The pictures do not do it jusice. It is bigger than it looks.
The shallow beach is perfect for little ones, (and big ones that don't like deep water) My husband learned to sail his small sailboat and I really enjoyed the kayak and paddle boat rides
Walker has some great shopping and we went to Itasca one day.
Betsy is an excellent rental property owner and made sure we had everything we needed. We will return and recommend any of her properties to anyone!
We absolutely loved this cabin! It had everything that we needed for the week! The beach is amazing and right out the front door and there are loads of beach toys provided for the kids! I have a younger sister with Autism who is afraid to go certain places and this cabin and beach was exactly suited to her needs! The owner went above and beyond in meeting our needs!! We LOVED it and will definitely go back this year :)
The Paul Bunyan bicycle trail is just a few miles away! Itasca State Park (a favorite of ours) is only 20 miles away. There you can walk across the headwaters of the Mississippi river, rent bicycles or kayaks, walk the many trails, visit the children's interactive nature center, or dine at a favorite of ours, Douglas Lodge. My kids say they have the best fries and shakes:)
