Welcome to our favorite spot! This is a one bedroom Condos near Kapaa on the island of Kauai. It has two double beds in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. Full kitchen, all appliances (including a blender for those great tropical drinks), dishes, linens etc.

The unit has Wifi internet access as well as two TVs and a stereo, DVD and CD player. We also leave beach towels, flashlights, snorkels, fins, boogie boards, coolers and beach mats for your use. So far our guests seem good about leaving them for the next person and even add to the collection! There are gas BBQs by the pool. All you need are your shorts, flipflops and a smile!

We have a two night minimum and a $115.00 cleaning fee and the Hawaiian room tax. These ground floor units are located about 300 feet from the beach across a grass field with a sidewalk leading from the unit to the beach. The beach pictures are taken from the end of the sidewalk looking North and South. As you can see the beach is very quiet and uncrowded.

This is about as crowded as it gets. The property is located in Kapaa, about eight miles North of the airport at Lihue. It is next to the Coconut Plantation Marketplace for those of you familiar with the island. The main road around Kauai is shaped like a horseshoe with no roads on the north shore. We are located in the center of the horseshoe, equal distances to the end of the road in both directions.

You can fish, swim and snorkel at the beach out front or go body surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking and water-skiing or golfing a short drive away. There is also plenty of shopping close at hand. Gift shops and art galleries abound with lots of fun little restaurants in Kapaa town. Don't miss the farmer's market with fresh fruit and produce at bargain prices. Hi there! Welcome to our home in Hawaii. We are Shari and Craig and we live north of Seattle Washington. We have traveled the world from Indonesia to Belize to Fiji to Mexico to Micronesia and we love Kauai! We are avid scuba divers and if you are a diver, there is no place better than Kauai for Honu (turtles). Contact us anytime and we will be happy to help you plan your time on Kauai.

Why The Owner chose Coconut Coast

We have been going to Kauai for over 50 years now and its an amazing place. We own 2 properties here on Kauai and have chosen the Kapaa side because of its balanced climate. There is enough rain to keep it lush but enough sun to make it fun. A perfect balance of available beaches, lush foliage and sunshine. For our personal taste, the north end ( Princeville) is too wet and Poipu has limited beaches, is too dry and way too crowded. There is only one main road, shaped like a horseshoe, on Kauai. Kapaa is right in the middle and equal distances from the end of the road in both directions. Perfect for exploring the incredible scenery of Kauai. Kauai has an amazing history. If you get the chance read Kauai, the Separate Kingdom. Kauai is the only Hawaiian Island that has never been conquered by any army (although many have tried!). Come stay with us and see why Kauai is such a special place.

Walk to the beach, hang out at Trees for entertainment

This property is very homey & comfortable. Walk to the beach. Hang out at Trees for entertainment. The kitchen has everything I needed to make meals. Watching the geckos play with each other from the balcony is refreshing & entertaining.

Disappointing

The moment we arrived there was a serious, sufficating, musty/mold smell. The unit was clean, well stocked and centrally located. But the smell was over powering. My sister and I were only there a week so finding another place was not logical. We rented a condo instead of a hotel in order to have a kitchen. We couldn't use the kitchen because that would have meant that we would have to stay in that putrid smelling place even longer then to just sleep and shower. When I got ahold of the owner, the second day there she told us to leave the a/c and ceiling fans going. We asked the building management to come in and we were told they were private owners and not under the property management. When we couldn't find any mold we approached a cleaning person who worked for the building management not the Gourley's(owners). I told her I was a bit concerned that it was the actual building with the problem and could she confirm my suspicions. She did, not that it was the building, but the condo itself. As soon as she walked in she said the smell was significant and I should call the owner. I did. In return the owner tried to cause problems for the girl for coming into the apt. The next time I approached the girl she wouldn't talk to me. I asked the owner to send over the local contact they have for the property, they did and she said to leave all the windows and doors open and that there was black mold growing on the Lanai's outside wall. We did observe this but do not believe that was the cause of the smell. At that point the owner accused us of trying to get something for nothing. We never asked for anything but conformation of this issue and a bit of concern. I have a friend who owns a business on the island cleaning vacation rentals. She came into the room and was overwhelmed. So much so that she got us another condo to stay at, which we couldn't do because it was on the the floor of a no elevator building. My sister is in her mid 50s with a bad leg and overweight and I also overweight, 60 and having heart issues could not do 2 flights of stairs in Kauai's crazy humidity. And we only had a few days left. My friend then felt a phone call to the owner from herself could possibly encourage the owners concern. Not even. Beware!

Owner's Response: We have owned and managed our vacation rentals in Kauai since 1998. As you can plainly see from the reviews we've received over the years from previous guests, we provide a high quality product on a consistent basis and have many repeat guests. Unfortunately, as a unit owner, every once in a while a guest arrives that arrives that will not be satisfied, no matter what you do to assist in making her vacation an enjoyable one. Michelle arrived on for a weeks stay at our unit. The unit had been occupied the previous week with the guest leaving the day before her arrival. This guest stayed for a week with no complaints or issues. Michelle called several days after arriving complaining of the smell of mold in the unit. She said she knew what mold smelled like because she had done research on it. I explained that we'd just had a guest in the unit the day before with no mention of smell so she might open the windows or run the air conditioner to increase air flow in the unit. After 5 days in the unit, Michelle called again, claiming the smell was unbearable. We contacted our cleaning lady and she arranged to enter the unit. Once in, she could smell nothing. Michelle took exception to that and began screaming at her about her lack of cleaning skills and her failure to notify the owners. Once Michelle left, we had friends that own and were visiting the island, and another cleaning lady that we use, enter the unit to determine if they smelled the mold. All three denied smelling anything in the unit. In summary, we had four different individuals visit the unit to confirm the smell of mold in the unit. All four denied smelling anything. I'm sorry she had such a bad time but as an owner I can't fix a problem that doesn't exist.

Great vacation, great location!

This condo was privately owned, and was well stocked with everything we needed​ even though we didn't use everything. Beds were very comfortable and the entire place was well furnished. Condo wasn't​ ocean view, but within walking distance. A great location just north of the airport in Kappa and central to drive to all parts of the island. Also it was close to restaurants​, grocery stores and shopping.

Plantation Hale F-7

Just got back from 12 days in Kauai at Shari and Craig's condo. We had an amazing stay in Kapa'a. The condo was perfect for our family of 4 - our kids are 9 and 12. They enjoyed the pools and playing shuttle board. My husband enjoyed fishing off the beach directly in front of the resort. I liked that we were relatively close to everything we wanted to do and that we were able to eat most of our meals "at home". Things in Kauai are expensive but we felt that the condo was well priced. Shari and Craig were great to deal with and kindly allowed us a late check out at no extra charge as our flight was at 10pm. We'd return to Plantation Hale F-7 in a heartbeat!!

The Wall

We spent a week in this condo in January 2017. Overall the condo is nice, is in a good location and is reasonably well equipped, and the wifi which was very much appreciated worked well. We enjoyed our time there. However, the overall experience was dampered by the fact that there is a ten foot high wooden wall about fifty feet outside the unit between it and the ocean. The view was the wall and the sky. Also, due to the first floor location we felt the need to keep the unit closed at night and the air conditioner was very loud.

There were many things about the unit that we appreciated, but we feel that it needs a general updating and perhaps a little more attention to detail like burned out light bulbs.

I don't mean for this review to be harsh or negative. As I said, we enjoyed out time. Unfortunately, we can't get passed the wall. The pictures led us expect an open expanse to the ocean. But all we saw was the wall.

Quality condo and centrally located

This condo was very comfortable and all the amenities were provided. The location is great for exploring any part of the island since it is right in the middle of everything. The staff is great and very helpful. The only drawback is that there is a big wall across the street that obstructs any ocean view. The owners were great to work with and answered any questions immediately and were readily available. We very much enjoyed our stay here.
