Occupying two thirds of La Hispaniola, the Dominican Republic is the second largest island of the Caribbean.
Cap Cana offers a great experience from golf, tennis and fishing to wine, pristine white sandy beaches, fine dining and spa service. You and your family will enjoy amenities and activities that will appeal to every member of the family.

RENTING A CAR
If you plan to relax, and use pools and Beach no car is needed.
If you plan on moving a lot I recommend you rent a car or golf cart. Taxis are expensive. There are no buses in the area.
There is one minimarket in Cap Cana, there is another in the Marina in front of Fishing Lodge. A big supermarket is in Punta Cana less than 10 minutes away but you need a car. Taxis are expensive. There are no buses in the area.
You have 2 restaurants in Fishing Lodge, 3 more in the Marina of Cap Cana and many more in Cap Cana and Punta Cana.
Cap Cana is a quite place. Its not crowded. Cap Cana is very big, the size of Manhattan. Even with many people it does not feel crowded.
If you are looking to be in a crowded place, Cap Cana is not the place. If you want more people, just rent a car and Bavaro is only 20 minutes away.
Punta Espada Golf Course is in Cap Cana and you have never seen a better golf course. Many more courses are 10-20 minutes around.
A 10-15 page guide with recommendations by me will be sent to you once first payment is done.

Im from Spain but have been living in Punta Cana for 8 years now. I like to travel and visit new places. I have a full guide of the area with beach, restaurant and many more more tips. Will email it after booking is done.
Ricardo purchased this Condo in 2011
Why Ricardo chose Cap Cana
Fishing Lodge units have the quality of a 5 star resort but have double the size of 5 star resort bedrooms. Cap Cana is luxurious, exclusive and it has fantastic beaches and pools. Its only 10 minutes away from Punta Cana Airport and 5 minutes away from Golfweeks # 1 golf course in the Caribbean, Punta Espada. Dont expect lots of people in Cap Cana. Try an all inclusive resort in Bavaro if you are looking for many people.
What makes this Condo unique
Fishing Lodge has the best lounge bar of Dominican Republic. Dux Chivas Club, open daily after 6pm and with events every weekend. Condos in Fishing Lodge have the best finishes and quality of the area.

Huge condo, great view, quiet resort
This condo is huge! Comfy beds, large living / dining room, walk-in closets and 2 beautiful and large balconies overlooking the "quiet" pool and out to the sea. Master has king bed and 2nd bedroom has 2 twins. Both have large bathrooms and walk-in closets. 2nd bedroom didn't have curtains on balcony doors so morning sun wakes u up. 2 beach, 2 bath, 2 hand towels in each bathroom.
Ricardo was very responsive, easy to work with, and really cares about your comfort. He sends you a really helpful document after your reservation is confirmed with details about the resort, the condo, car rentals, recommendations - pretty much all you need to know! Definitely do his transportation option with the stop at the market between airport and hotel - smooth and stress-free!
The kitchen could use microwave and basics like hot pads & dish towels. Freezer had one tiny little plastic ice thing - recommend getting a bag of ice at the store! Coffeemaker requires custom pods which you could only get at the market. We didn't have hot water till our 2nd day - not sure why - but after that it was steaming hot and plentiful. The wifi in the condo started working on day 5 but it was always accessible in the lobby (a short walk away).
We elected not to do the all-inclusive option at the resort. Most people take it but they don't have any way of identifying who's got it and who doesn't (no wristbands) so we did occasionally get free beer and food at the pools (staff would prefer that you tip rather than you paying for drinks).
The resort is kind of sleepy. There are 3 pools - a quiet one, the "main" pool with bar and activities, and the pool at the Tiara Hotel which has activities, a full service restaurant and a swim up bar. Main pool and Tiara pool were our faves. None of them get crowded and we never had a problem finding chairs. Beach at Tiara is tiny but cabanas are nice. There's very little shopping and lots of empty retail spaces. Gift shop at Tiara is much cheaper with better selection of souvenirs than main gift shop. Breakers Cafe has great sandwiches and Il portico is a funky little place with GREAT Italian food! AM/PM is a little tavern just inside the security gates but it's not part of the all-inclusive and is not on resort map - very cool little spot with a rooftop bar and restaurant, fun cocktails and awesome fondue (and other items but fondue is so good!).
Great resort & condo away from the "touristy" Bavaro area!
Thanks for the review Gin.
The unit was great. Rooms large and views outstanding. Site also offered beach and pools. With several resturants on site. Close to many other beaches and resturants.
Thanks for the nice review. Ricardo
Beautiful Upscale Spacious Apartment
The apartment is spacious. Design details are very upscale.. Beautiful bathrooms. Large walk in closet in the master. Gorgeous marina views. Breathtaking sunsets. The grounds look like a Hollywood movie set with very few people. Ricardo was very reliable and responds immediately.
This apartment is in the Fishing village which has more activities than the other villages. We just came back from 3 weeks there. I have some suggestions as follows:
1-Do not take a food inclusive plan. It's expensive and food is mediocre
2-Instead rent a car and do it from Ricardo. Airport rentals are very unreliable.
3-Ask for a metal key. Plastic keys either do not work or do not work for long.
4-There are many great restaurants within a short drive. The Tripadvisor ratings are accurate
5-Have your plant boxes weeded and use raid on the terrace. The gnats that live in the weeds are viscious
6-If you like a few activities and some people around the Fishing Village is great. If you want total seclusion and no people other villages are better. For beach Aquamarina Beach is good.
Thanks for the review Pearl.
Fantastic property but restaurant food not very good
Accomodations....the condo was fab. You should bring your own paper towels oryou will be cleaning up with towels all week.
The resort...was well maintained and clean. Pools were fabulous, particularly the two larger ones.both can get quite boisterous and noisy with music.
The service... Very good, kind people. Security guards kept trying to touch and play with my 2 year old even after she showed she was scared..that was a little creepy but no biggie.
The restaurants.... The food is pretty awful. Probably because its made in mass quantites for the buffets and the reused...stick to the large pool's(not at beach) outdoor grill and try to score a reservation at the japanese restaurant (you need a seat at the hibachi table to actually order hibachi). And try to get what you need at the grocery store. We did not and i wish we had bc of my daughter...
Great almost new resort
This place was phenomenal. It was accurately described but more description of the Resort itself would have been beneficial. The pools were fantastic! Only let down was the Southern Shores of Dominica had loads of Seaweed blown ashore from heavy southern winds. A local had mentioned he had never seen this before. Beach was closed. I do not know if this is a regular thing or just a onetime occurrence.
Dave, thanks for the review and glad to hear you enjoyed.
Seaweed happens from time to time but its normally not that strong.
Its nice having 3 pools in resort and 6 restaurants walking distance.
The condo is exactly as the photos show it is, with full marina views. It is VERY spacious, quiet, relaxing and a beautiful/well maintained unit. Ricardo was extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. We would definitely rent this condo again!!!
Thanks for the review Toni.
Good Beaches, Good Weather, Excellent golf and over 15 restaurants in Cap Cana. All within 10 minutes. Airport of Punta Cana is 10 minutes away. Over 20 activities to choose from in the area. Dont miss the recently opened CocoBongo.
