About Chelcey Dunham
We live in Bar Harbor year round with our 3 children, dog and 2 cats. Tony is the owner of a computer software company; Chelcey is the manager of Queen Anne's Cottages. We feel lucky to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth, and are happy to share it with others!
Chelcey Dunham purchased this House in 2000
Why Chelcey Dunham chose Bar Harbor
This property is all of the above: woodsy/quiet/private, close to town (10 minute drive), super close to Acadia National Park (5 minute drive), and has amazing views of Eastern Bay! Past guests have loved the short distance to quiet, comfy solitude after a day in town or on the trails. As part of our eco-friendly efforts, we rely on natural, chemical free cleaning products, including irritant-free, plastic free, and organic "soap berries" (look it up! you'll love them!) for our laundry detergent. Our plastic-free garbage bags are compostable, and our recycling program is well established and easy to use. We also donate all proceeds from bottle and can redemption to our local SPCA.
What makes this House unique
We can spot on any given day: Bald Eagles, Deer, Porpoise, Hummingbirds, Seals, and a variety of other birds and wildlife. Kids and adults alike LOVE the huge, solar heated, saltwater pool. We are pet friendly and pet safe (at the end of a dirt road!), and our pets are more than happy to befriend you (if you like) when you find yourself missing your pets at home.

Perfect in every way
We could not have asked for a better place to call home during our recent visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia... secluded and peaceful but close to everything. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool in the afternoon after exploring the island and more relaxing around the fire pit in the evenings while watching some of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen. We miss it already and can’t wait to return!
Sea Heather was perfect!
The house and surrounding area was perfect for our family. The 6 adults and 1 child were comfortable and were able to have time together or privacy where needed. The home is comfortable, well appointed, spacious and well stocked (and labeled). Such a treat to have access to the beach, a fire pit and a beautiful pool - everything is well maintained and clean. The location is a straight 5 miles from waterfront Bar Harbor and close by to several great restaurants. The daily sunsets and views were fabulous and 5 minutes away from Acadia National Park. We loved the Sea Heather House!
My husband and our two young children stayed at Sea Heather for one week, and we loved every moment! The home was beautiful and well-maintained. It’s is the perfect size for two small families, in our opinion (my sister and her family were originally joining us but had to cancel last minute). We enjoyed the gorgeous sunset over the water in the evenings and used the fire pit for s’mores as well. The pool was a bit too cold for us, though my husband and kids braved it a couple of times. It was never over 80 degrees during our stay, though the week prior was much hotter and I’m sure the pool was more appealing that week. Great location as well. Plenty close to Bar a Harbor (10 min drive) but quiet and not in the middle of things. Home was immaculately clean, with everything carefully labeled, even the blankets! Highly recommend.
My wife and I were totally mesmerized by the sheer beauty and setting of the property.
It provided a homely atmosphere in an environment that was totally breath taking.
A truly beautiful home with accents that not only provided a surrounding to be awed, but provided a relaxing atmosphere to fit our needs.
Thank you to Chelcey for being so accommodating.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sea Heather Cottage in Salisbury Cove. Very clean with a very workable kitchen and living area for our extended family. The view is beautiful! Close to Acadia National Park. Can't say enough in favor of this vacation cottage.
Much more than was expected!
What can I even say to express how much we loved our experience? From the private beach to the fire pit to the house to the beautiful pool, this entire property was amazing! So much more than we expected. The house was furnished perfectly with so much room to stretch out and really relax. The beds were top notch and helped to sleep away the sore legs from hiking the wonderful trails that scatter the island. The kitchen was full of everything needed for cooking, no need to bring anything with you except a clear mind to take in the incredible views from the deck and the beach below. Sunsets from the fire pit really capped off the day. This is a secluded MDI paradise, one that we will be returning to with our kids as soon as it can be arranged. Communication from the owner Chelcey was always perfect, so helpful! Thank you so much Chelcey for allowing us to take part in your paradise, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and went home fully relaxed!
The Main Entrance to Acadia National Park is just 5 minutes down the road from Sea Heather Cottage. 5 minutes beyond that is downtown Bar Harbor, with loads of great shops and restaurants! The exact address of Sea Heather Cottage is 65 Shore Acres Road, Bar Harbor.
