Very Nice Spot.
We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment. It was spacious and clean. Nikos was a very gracious host and we where very pleased with the restaurants he recommended. We would definitely stay there again.
Amazing Apartment in Athens
Our stay in Athens was delightful! The apartment was located in a quiet neighborhood with quick access to shopping, dining, and museums. The best part of our experience was the rooftop terrace with views of the whole city. Sunsets were great and even on hot days, there was a nice breeze blowing.
Excellent views and clean apartment
The apartment was as shown in the photos. Plenty of room and very clean. Nikos met us at the apartment and went over everything. He also offered some good local restaurants to eat at. Our suggestion is to take him up on the transportation from the airport. It is slightly more than a taxi but more comfortable, door to door and with an English speaking driver. The views are incredible especially at sunset and you can’t beat the roof deck for a wine and a view. It’s also a pretty quiet neighborhood and we felt safe there. The only thing to remember is that it is not in the center of the city and it is up at the top of some very steep streets. Taxis are cheap and easy to get though and so we didn’t find it an issue. Overall a great stay in a wonderful apartment.
Thank you Adrian for your review. You've been wonderful tenants.
I have only a comment to make: Guests who live in smaller-small cities (of a few thousant, even a few tenths of thousant residents) when visiting cities or capitals such as Athens of 5.000.000 residents, they make the same common mistake in regard to distances.
This apartment is less than 2 miles fom Omonia (the point zero of the city) and less than 1 mile from the commercial center. It's inluded in the zone A of Athens when the borders of the zone A are at least 2 more miles further away from Omonia. For us, residents of this great city, a distance of 2-3 miles is next door.
The apartment was clean and very large. Everyone was very helpful.
A wonderful property
The rooms are very comfortable, the view from the rooftop spectacular, the neighborhood charming and accessible. Mr. Karipidis could not be more gracious, and his restaurant recommendations are spot on.
Perfect weekend in Athens
We stayed with our family here for the weekend. The view from the rooftop patio is truly amazing. Great views of the sunset. We simply bought cheese, meats beer and wine from a nearby market, walked up the hill and spent the evening laughing from the rooftop as the sunset
Our title 'Amazing View' gives literaly the picture of this property.
The (30kms range) views from the 24h accessible terrace is breathtaking.
It's more like flying over the city in a helicopter.
Acropolis, Piraeus harbour, the sea of Saronic Gulf and the islands Aegina and Salamina are just a few of the visible sights.
The apartment located at the sides of the mot central hill of Athens.
The Attica region
The mainland of Greece forms the southernmost part of the Balkan peninsula, in the north also including parts of the historical regions of Macedonia and Thrace, further to the south narrowing into a 'Greek peninsula' in its own right, including historical Epirus, Thessaly, Boeotia and Attica, and concluding in the separate peninsula of Peloponnese, comprising the historical territories Sparta, Corinth and Argos, all surrounding the peninsula's heartland of Arcadia.
As for Attica, the region is incredibly famous and unique for its breathtaking monuments and museums. A region with great history due to also being the birthplace of the famous philosophers Aristotelis, Sokratis, Aristofanis etc.
So why not come and explore the region for yourself !
The Athens / Nea Kipseli area
The location is 'Nea Kipseli', part of the center circle, which means that if you enjoy walking you'll need about 20 minutes to Omonoia square and through that to Plaka, the old town, the Ancient Market, the Acropolis and lots of other 'must see' monuments.
On the other hand, if you are the type of public transportation, you'll find several different bus lines in 100-150 meters range around the flat, taking to all main points of the city, ex. time by bus to Omonoia square 5-6', Syntagma 10', Mesogion ave 5-6', Acropolis (south side) in 12' etc.
If you are after all a practical type, you'll realize that you can have a call-taxi waiting for you right outside your door and take you to all places mentioned above before you know it, with only a few euros. Taxis are exceptionally cheap in Greece (Omonoia 4 eur., Plaka 6 eur, Acropolis 7 eur, etc).
In a range of 100m there are pharmacy, super market, grocery, bakery, butcher shop, tobacco, food take away, you name it.
As for the issue of safety, you can ask the little children playing out in the street.
In 5 minutes walk, about 300m there is the famous Fokionos Negri street, full of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, clubs and any kind of night amusement.
