This is a large house for the City, but the sun, nearby East River air and gardens make it feel like the country. After living in Tribeca, Manhattan, I felt as though I bought the gardens and the house came with them. I live and work in the building and one floor is often available for guests. It is quiet for New York, restful, out of the way and private - and 2 blocks away from everything!
Fresh breeze drifts in from the river - there are actually windows on all 4 sides! The garden is full of the scent of roses, lilies, honeysuckle, violets, lavender and herbs just outside the windows. ....It's great to walk around the corner early in the morning for newspapers, cappuccino and home made croissants, and sit at sidewalk cafe tables and meet the locals!
Thank you for letting us stay at your apartment. It was as you described. Very quiet, spacious and perfectly close to restaurants, shops and most especially our new grandson!
Wonderful apartment! Great Brooklyn location with Marlowe & Sons, a perfect breakfast spot, just around the corner. Plenty of space to spread out. I will definitely be back!
Loved staying in the apt- comfortable, spacious for a family of four, easy walking across the Williamsburg bridge to LED, would return in a heartbeat!
Had a great visit with my daughters in Brooklyn. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who wants a home away from home.
This apartment is conveniently located to many attractions in Brooklyn/Williamsburg. The location is on a street with mixed industrial and residential use and very near the train (noisy, but with earplugs I slept ok). There is a lot of new construction going on in Williamsburg and you are sure to see a transformation of this area in the near future. The apartment was clean and safe. We didn't have time to spend in the back garden but it could have used some landscape maintenance. We had a nice view of it from our kitchen window. Bedding in any accommodation is of major interest to me. The sheets were thin and the comforter and blankets dated. They were clean but needed to be replaced with new. The management was very accommodating and easy to work with.
My daughter and I stayed at this listing and found it to be a wonderful experience. We stayed on the second floor and that unit is the entire front to back of the house. There is a great amount of room to stretch out with a large bedroom behind French doors that open to the living area. In that generous room there is a twin bed in a nook that has curtain for privacy during the night. A full kitchen is available at the back with a table and five chairs. You are nestled right by the Williamsburg Bridge and a few blocks and a short walk up from the subway station. There is a full grocery store one block away by the river. Joggers and bikers use a nearby street and there are lots of nearby restaurants. A great place to stay for visiting Manhattan and seeing some of the best spots in Brooklyn.
World class resdtaurants, clubs, film and galleries, shopping, bowling at Gutter and Brooklyn Bown (! -with a restaurant and live rock stage) popular music venues, rock, latin, jazz, including Knitting Factory, Public Assembly, Galapagos, Williamsburg Music Hall and dozens of live music and dance clubs, both electric and acoustic...Shopping for original designs, and... *tour the famous Brooklyn Brewery.....*every type of great restaurant - all within a few blocks. .....*And the East River is nearby, with the Manhattan Ferry. At the foot of Grand Street, you can sit on benches, right at the water's edge, facing Manhattan, and watch the City and the boats going by.....* at Giando's, you can sit looking over the water to Manhattan and 3 bridges, and enjoy cocktails and first rate Italian cuisine.
