About the property

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, West End Home Filled With History

Antique 1860 fisherman’s home filled with sun light and ocean breezes. Three generations of Provincetown fishermen have made 38 Pleasant their home for nearly 100 years. This is the fifth season this little gem is for rent. The antique treasure is a snapshot in time from a bye gone era filled with local history and Provincetown art. 38 Pleasant Street is in the historic West End of PTown, walking distance to Commercial Street, beaches, galleries, evening entertainment and the local grocery store.

Lovingly crafted; the fully equipped eat-in kitchen is lined with custom built pine cabinets, providing a warm and homey feel to the sunny space. Fresh paint, polish, new furnishings and linens make 38 Pleasant Street the perfect Provincetown escape with 700 square feet of living space. The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, large refrigerator and stackable washer/dryer combo. Two bedrooms, one double bed and one twin bed, one bathroom with tub/shower combination. The living room has plenty of seating to enjoy the 37 inch HD flat screen cable television, wireless internet and DVD player. There is ample parking for 3 cars, a small deck overlooking a spacious private backyard filled with birds, and an outdoor shed to house bicycles, beach paraphernalia and barbeque supplies. We have beach chairs, towels and an umbrella and a cooler for your use.

We have added a new outside unenclosed shower (great for washing off the beach sand).

This is a non-smoking, family friendly home perfect for children or 3 friends who would like to experience an authentic old Cape Cod home filled with charm.

About Allan Souza

Photo of Allan . I am third generation owner of this property.

My Grandparents purchased this house

around 1920 and my Parents bought it in 1964.

I grew up here and graduated from Provincetown High School.

I now live in Orleans, Ma which is 30 miles up the Cape from Provincetown.

Allan Souza purchased this house in 2012

Why Allan Souza chose Cape Cod

The house is unique in the fact that it was built in 1860.

You will see that it has all the latest appliances.

There is a lot packed into this 700 Sq foot house.

What makes this house unique

You will enjoy the privacy that only a free standing house can provide.

There is a large yard and driveway parking for up to 3 cars.

You can walk to the heart of Provincetown in as little as 10 min.

The neighbors all own their properties, so they love the quiet of the neighborhood.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I very much enjoyed my time at your unit. I found the unit itself clean, comfortable and well-appointed. I especially appreciate how well supplied the kitchen is as I like to cook and found myself not missing any needed equipment. I also appreciated the nice touch of the cut flowers.

Provincetown Gem - Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 7 month old daughter and 12 year old puppy stayed at Allan's property in June 2017. The house was perfect! Within walking distance to all of Provincetown's sites and nicely tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Everything in the house is clean and homey, and the yard and shed are immaculately kept. We will definitely choose this property again. Enjoy!

Third Carnival at this lovely place!

  • 5 of 5

It was our third summer in this lovely place with lovely owners! We can't describe how at home we feel when we are there. The garden, the patio, the outside shower, it's just perfect!

Lovely, well maintained small house within easy walking distance of Commercial Street.

  • 4 of 5

This is a small but very efficient and well laid-out house. There are two small bedrooms that have AC units, nice but not fussy linens, art work and furnishings. They are well separated by the living room area and the kitchen. Everything is comfortable and clean so that it is easy to settle in and enjoy your stay. The locking shed is a perfect way to store a bike or beach gear. The deck and yard are equally wonderful spaces for breakfast, drinks, reading a book or sunning. The gardens and grass are lovely and well maintained. Enjoy your stay!

Another fantastic bear week in the books

  • 5 of 5

Another perfect week away at this fantastic little gem. I can't begin to tell you how incredible Allan & Eva are to work with. Attentive as ever, without ever breathing down your neck by any stretch. All my friends who stopped by for drinks was jealous of our location and the overall charm of the place. Well-appointed to say the least, there is a nook and cranny for anything you may need here. We spent hours out on the deck socializing, enjoyed hosting a barbecue for a large number of people without issue, and all we couldn't have been happier with everything. Already looking forward to my next trip back (just stinks I have to wait another year!)

Highly recommend staying at this lovely, quiet property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a fortnight in mid-September. The house is truly relaxing, with a good sized garden. House is well laid out & has all the items needed for a cooking & eating at the property, including a gas BBQ.

The house is in a great location, it has off road parkin & a shed for cycle storage. It is quiet but not far from the centre of Provincetown. It is in easy reach of a cycle hire shop, supermarket, deli's & restaurants.

This house is perfectly positioned to appreciate all of Provincetown & the surrounding coastline. Cannot recommend this house highly enough, very much suits couples. The owners were a delight to deal with, prompt with correspondence (happy to deal with overseas visitors), friendly & extremely helpful. We very much wish to stay at this house again.

Fantastic Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is our third year staying at this wonderful, convenient cottage. This cottage has been lovingly maintained by the Souza family for generations. The house is wonderfully outfitted for all your needs from the kitchen, to grilling out or heading to the beach they have provided all your needs. The location is perfect. It's a short walk to Commercial St., the beach or super market. Its the perfect location just to watch the people walk past and say hello. The residential area is beautifully maintained with beautiful gardens. We hope to be able to enjoy many more years at this location. Michael & Terry
