About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Just walk 10 minutes to Ka’anapali Beach, the top beach in the world, you can enjoy twice the space at half the price of Ka’anapali Resort ocean-front condos.

The unit has been completely renovated in the summer of 2011 by Maui's top interior designer and contractor creating a very upscale, Hawaiian interior design. The fully equipped kitchen has custom cherry cabinets, top quality granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. The bathrooms are newly tiled and finished with the same cabinets and granite to provide continuity throughout. We want you to leave the mainland behind when you step in the front door.

This stunning relaxed island-style 2-bedroom, 2-bath luxury condominium features an open floor plan, 1800 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space with air conditioning on two levels. This condo is larger because several optional areas have been enclosed. The condo sleeps 4 - 6. Enjoy relaxing, and drinks and dinner on the spacious lanai with a gas BBQ grill, wet bar, table with seating for 6, and two very comfy chaises.

Our condo, K-302, has the best sunset views because of its central location in the resort and because it occupies the top two floors of the 4-story building. You will enjoy the breathtaking westerly view of the ocean, golf course, Ka’anapali resorts, and the Islands of Molokai and Lanai from the spacious lanai and from the master suite. To really appreciate the location of this unit, Google 'Maui Revealed Ka’anapali Royal' for an aerial view of the resort.

Up one flight of stairs, the entry takes you into the dining room, kitchen, guest bedroom suite, and laundry room with a new (in fall 2016) full-size washer and dryer. The sunken living room has a 55' LED LCT HDTV, a rocking chair, and a comfortable queen-size sleeper sofa. The dining room has a triangular dining table and seating for 6.

The enlarged upstairs master suite allows privacy from the rest of the unit. The room offers a vaulted ceiling, palm fan, King Serta plush mattress, and HDTV. The bathroom has a large soaker tub with a shower. This room is larger than most in the complex as the prior owners had expanded the size.

The first floor queen bedroom suite offers HDTV, a ceiling fan, and an attached bathroom with shower. There is a small office area in an alcove with secure Wi-FI and a printer for your laptop.

According to a Conte Nast poll, Ka’anapali Beach is # 1 beach on #1 rated Island. Ka’anapali Royal is a first-class resort with gated security and a convenient swimming pool, pool-side BBQ area, and lighted tennis courts. It sits on a ridge overlooking the 16th fairway of the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed Ka’anapali Royal Golf course where the PGA Senior Skins Tournament is played. Guests may choose from 10 other outstanding golf courses on the Island.

Enjoy a stroll to Whalers Village for shops, ocean-front dining, and exciting night life. They even have Sunday church services at Leilani’s on the Beach. Get your exercise and enjoy the fresh air, romantic sunsets on the Ka’anapali Beachwalk that goes from the Sheraton at the north end to the Hyatt at the south end. The close proximity to the world famous Ka’anapali Beach is ideal for fun activities: snorkeling and diving at Black Rock, parasailing, kayaking, boogie boarding, sailing, sunset dinner cruises, whale watching (November – April), surfing, resort spas, or just plain relaxing in the sun.

In Lahaina, a historic hot spot only 10 minutes away by car, Maui visitors enjoy dozens of art galleries and a variety of shops and restaurants. For the more adventuresome, one can bike down Haleakala or ride the Kapalua Zip-line.

We recently replaced all the windows and sliding doors with high efficiency, double-paned glass so our condo is cooler and quieter. We are in the process of replacing the motors and blowers for the air conditioning to ensure your comfort. We also have a brand new gas grill on the lanai. We are committed to keeping this condo in top condition following the extensive renovation in 2011.

About The Owner

Kay Kendall and I were married on the beach in Maui on May 21, 2012 at sunset. We are principles in a consulting practice named BaldrigeCoach.

Our recent book, The Executive Guide to Understanding and Implementing Baldrige in Healthcare; Evidence-Based Excellence, was just published. It is available at Amazon and the ISBN 978-1453817988.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2011

Why The Owner chose West Maui

I have been coming to Hawaii 3 or 4 times a year for over 40 years using my timeshares on Maui and Kauai. When I decided to buy a condo, I looked on Kauai, Hawaii, and Maui. I preferred this area over South Maui because of the proximity to Ka'anapali Beach, Lahaina, and the tradewinds make it more comfortable year round.

I also looked at ocean front condos at other Ka’anapali Resorts. Most or those units were smaller, or the cost was three to five times higher. For me, it was a trade off. We are willing to walk to the beach to get more serenity and privacy as well as to be able to offer more affordable rates and value to our guests.

What makes this condo unique

Owning our condo allows us to have a full kitchen, wonderful views, and a place to keep my bicycle. It also gives us an office area to work in that I can share with you.

It is our second home and is large enough to host family and friends comfortably. For additional privacy we like our floor plan where the bedrooms are on separate floors.

We love whale watching, and you are 10 minutes from Lahaina which is great for shopping, dining, and whale watching cruises.

The west Maui mountains are the most beautiful on the Island and are great for sight seeing and hiking.

Perfect Paradise

  • 5 of 5

The condo is in pristine condition, with wonderful views of the ocean and golf course, and every amenity. It looks as if the owner recently remodeled and re-decorated, because everything is first-rate, serene and in the best taste. They provide the basic small, new toiletries and are as helpful as any concierge in suggesting great places to visit or dine.

Perfect place to enjoy a nice vacation on Maui!

  • 5 of 5

This condo was exactly what we were hoping for. When i first talk to Glenn, the owner of the condo, I immediately got a good feeling. Glenn is very responsive, friendly and you can tell he cares about making sure that you are going to have a great time when staying in his condo. When we arrived there we were not disappointed. The condo is in very good condition, spacious and clean. The beds are good, the kitchen is modern and has what you need to cook a good meal, and of course it has that awesome lanai where you can enjoy the view of the golf and the ocean. You can walk down to the beautiful Kaanapali beach in about 10 minutes, and there is also a pool and jacuzzi in the complex that the kids really liked. Overall a very nice place.

Thanksgiving Week Maui Get-Away

  • 5 of 5

I arrived late night at approximately 11:15pm. However, when I opened the front door to the condo I was immediately impressed. The condo was immaculate. I had the impression that I was at a 5-Star hotel in regards to the arrangements of the towels and travel soaps in the bathroom. The amenities were spot on. All of the kitchen utensils that are needed were available, i.e. cookware, coffee maker, etc. The kitchen appliances were up-to-date and operable. The beds were very comfortable and had good quality linen on them. The interior decor embraced the Hawaiian culture. This condo location is centrally located near a lot of the attractions, beach, gym, shopping and restaurants. When booking tours, the Ka'anapali Royal is a location that is on the route for pick-up. This was quite convenient as I did not have to drive over to another hotel to get the shuttle/bus. I walked to the gym, literally two minutes and the beach and shopping less than ten minutes away. The grounds of the condo is private, quiet and serene. The pool area too is nice. The outside of the property is very well maintained with beautiful landscaping. I also enjoyed being in a gated community as this is what I'm accustomed too at my home. Everything was just absolutely FABULOUS as it was a Home Away From Home!!!!

The owner was very helpful in suggesting what activities to book and the tour companies to engage. He contacted me to ensure my visit to Maui was the epitome of a great time. The owner was very engaging and quite responsive to any questions or inquires prior to the trip and during.

In conclusion, I met a couple on my way back to Michigan, and I highly recommended this property and provided them the VRBO website and Property ID as they are planning a trip to Hawaii to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 2017.

Wonderful Condo, Fantastic Comfort & Beach, Restaurant & Activity Access

  • 5 of 5

We were super fortunate enough to be able to book and stay at this beautiful condo during the first week of September. It was absolutely wonderful!

Every morning we got to wake up to views of the golf course and the ocean front just on the other side. The condo was equipped with every single creature comfort, including wi-fi and a great office space in the main floor bedroom (unfortunately I had to do a bit of work too during vacation and it made it that much easier to make quick work of it and get back to relaxing).

The beds and pull out couches were extremely comfortable, the kitchen, eating area and bathrooms have all been updated recently and were super clean and nice. We stayed with 2 other couples in the condo and we all had plenty of room to move about. One thing we really liked about the main floor was how open it was which made it nice for all of us everyday to gather around, make blended drinks, talk, laugh and make plans for the day.

The beach is a 5 minute walk from the condo and it is lined with tons of wonderful restaurants and hotel hot spots...plenty to do an see. Black Rock is right on the beach and a fantastic spot to snorkel. We saw tons of sea turtles and colorful fish, something we had never done before.

The pool and hot tub were wonderful too, great ammenities!!

We HIGHLY recommend the condo, great value, great comfort and convenience!

Wonderful Condo - great location! Beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with the quality and location of this condo. It was very clean and beautifully decorated with quality everywhere you looked. The beds were very comfortable. And we were very pleased to find plenty of chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels and other things to make our stay enjoyable. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped for those who like to cook - which we did. The pantry contained necessary basics such as sugar, salt/pepper and a few things left behind by previous renters such as coffee, wine etc. It was also super quiet and we never heard any other tenants. The only noticeable noise was the morning traffic heard in the second bedroom. It's not as bad if you sleep with the window closed. , Don't forget to check out the free Whalers Village Trolley that you can use to get to and from the beach or other hotels. We took it from the Sheraton to our condo one of the days. You can find the schedule online.

Glenn was very responsive to our requests and needs - one of which included an early check-in. We certainly recommend this place!

nciely updated unit in older building, good for a small group

  • 4 of 5

Our group of five enjoyed our stay at Kaanapali Royale. The unit is well equipped and nicely furnished. It is a bit of a walk to the beach but there are peek a boo views to the ocean from both upper and lower rooms. The pool is quite nice with trees for shade when it gets too hot. Light sleepers may not enjoy the downstairs bedroom which backs onto Honoapi'ilani Hwy. While we were there (late Sept), resurfacing of the parking lot was a little disruptive - this happened same time last year and was noted in the unit's guest book - something to ask about if you plan a visit at this time, especially if you have someone along who has trouble walking any distance. BTW, $75 parking fee was only time we've ever had to pay for parking in Hawaii in 30 years of visits here, including at Kapalua and Wailea.

Glenn responded promptly to an issue upon check-in - we appreciated this.

We enjoyed Kaanapali and Kapalua beaches, easy hike along Kapalua coast to Fleming Beach, 'weekend warrior' golfing at Kapalua, breakfasts/lunches at Plantation House (Kapalua - much more reasonable than you'd think) as well as dinner at Lahaina Grill. We had a yummy take out dinner from Honokawai Okazuya and a really decent lunch at the Honolua General Store on the Kapalua grounds.
