Very comfortable and cute!
Overall this property is really nice. The creek that runs along the back is beautiful! My only concern was the neighboring dogs that barked loud and constant anytime we walked into the front of the property. We couldn't even swing or talk without them barking LOUD. We would stay inside or in the back to avoid the headache. We are quiet people and wanted to get away. But this is not the owners fault and I have nothing but good things to say about the home.
Serene, healing, at one with nature
The creek was the highlight for us personally. It was so peaceful and I couldn't stop watching it and spending time outside. We chose the room closest to the creek to sleep at night. The landscape and distance from any other person was just what we needed for this vacation. Everything we needed was inside the house that it felt like home for the week.
Loved the cabin! Perfect for our family of three! Great place to disconnect!
I took my wife, our 10 yr old son, and our dog to spend a few nights at the Creekside Cottage over Easter weekend. The property was everything we were looking for and then some. We made lasting memories and will be returning this fall, if not sooner. The rushing creek was a real treat and the privacy was awesome! We stayed for 3 nights and days, we only went into Asheville once b/c we loved the property so much. The owners made getting checked in and out of the property very easy. The cottage has everything you need and nothing you don't. I really can't say enough good things about our trip and/or the cottage. Thank you Heather for allowing us to stay at your place, we absolutely loved every minute of our trip and can't wait to come back and stay again!!! Mahalo.
Great property...extremely relaxing
There is so much to love about this property. The location was perfect. It was easy to get to, not too far from Brevard and Asheville, but when at the home it felt like we were all alone. The house is as described....The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had plenty of pots/pans for cooking, and we enjoyed the wood stove in the living room. We mainly stayed here because of the outside and we were not disappointed. The back porch, hot tub, and fire pit are all literally a few feet from a beautiful mountain stream.
I would have given this 5 stars but there were a few small things that would have been helpful. Our cell phones did not work at the house (this was actually a nice thing and allowed us to get away from it all). However, without the internet, it was almost impossible to know what was around the area. It would have been nice to have a book for the cabin of things that were somewhat close by (restaurants, hiking, waterfalls, biking, grocery store...etc.) The home was also neat, but would have been nice if a little cleaner (under couches and such were a little suspect). I was mostly disappointed that the check out gives directions to drop off trash at a certain spot. Unfortunately, it does not tell you this spot is not open 7 days a week. So traveling around for a while looking for a place to drop off a trash bag on a Sunday Morning with a wife, two kids and a golden retriever in the car was less than fun.
Overall, we really liked the place and would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to get away from it all. With a couple little things this place would be unbeatable.
Perfect, quaint retreat
So cute and really all we were looking for. Appointed well, secluded, close to great hiking, easy to Asheville. Love the little town of Canton! Clean, comfy, and the creek side hot tub is a plus!
