Our secluded log home is located on a quiet mountain top with beautiful changing views. The cabin is clean and luxurious yet comfortable and cozy. We have done our best to make this your home away from home. Relax in the hot tub or roast marshmellows over the outdoor stone fire pit. The kitchen is appointed with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Cooking utensils, coffeepot, toaster, crockpot are all available for your use. Enjoy the scenic sunset while dining on the upper balcony picnic table. All 3 bedrooms have large beautiful log beds with comfy pillowtop mattresses and TV in all of them. The game room downstairs has a 47" TV and an air hockey table.

We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. Kitchen had every pot/pan or appliance we needed for cooking. It felt like home immediately. There is a mountain stream close by that has many spots for fishing. As long as you bring your food, there is really no reason to leave. Gorgeous view!
We enjoyed ourselves very much at this hidden, well-appointed house. We were even able to cancel our 4WD rental after learning that the steepest parts of the road had just been paved! Our rafting trip with Carolina Outfitters was fun and especially convenient to this location. This is definitely a 'getaway' place!
This was a perfect vacation home for New Years! My wife and I met some long-time friends here for very relaxing 4 day stint. We had a blast! Trout fishing, outdoor pit fire, air hockey...what a great home in the perfect place for a quiet get-away. This house has just about everything (OK...we couldn't find a potato masher, but we made do) and most of it is high end. You wouldn't think a vacation rental would be so well appointed/equipped. As for the hill, believe what you read. We had no issue in our 4 wheel drive SUV but my buddy's front wheel drive SUV couldn't get past the first 100 feet. This is a long, extremely steep gravel road. If it rained anytime in the week prior to your arrival, you probably won't get past the initial 100 feet. AWD or 4WD is a must! Also, since there are only 2 houses on this mountain and it is so steep, you will certainly have your privacy. I searched for many "cabins" in the Smokies and nothing compares to this gem. It's an outstanding place at an outstanding price! A+++
We had a fabulous time. The scenery was beautiful, there was a ton to do right in the cabin and the surrounding area. The only thing that I would mention do not make the climb for the first time to the cabin in the middle of the night, it is quite scary if you are not used to mountains like us Floridians :) However, I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet retreat.
Quiet Haven is an immaculate cabin, meticulously maintained well equipped to make the stay more enjoyable. An AWD or 4WD vehicle is almost a necessity to traverse the last drive up to the cabin. That fact only adds to the attractiveness of the cabin--peaceful, quiet and NO TRAFFIC NOISE! It is convenient to an abundance of outdoor activities, mountain biking, trout fishing, kayaking, rafting, hiking (right out the front door) and to the Nantahala Outdoor Center. (Try the grilled trout at the River Bend). The Smokey Mountain Natl Park and Gatlinburg are convenient drives but should be considered day trips. Also there are ample convenience stores close by but a full service grocery store is a 40 min drive but shouldn't be a problem if you plan ahead. There was a lot of trout fishing going on, if you do fish check the licensing and gear requirements ahead of time. I also had my granddaughters there, ages 3 and 1. It was great for them, no safety problems.. Even had a gate for the stairs.I would certainly use this cabin again.
The property would be rated excellent if it were not for the access road. My only suggestion would be to include in the information that you ABSOLUTELY need a four week drive vehicle. Recommending it is not strong enough language. Especially for an old farm boy who thinks he can drive up anything! (MY BAD)
20 minutes to Nantahala Outdoor Center. White water rafting launch 4 miles down the road. Trout fishing close by, or rent a pontoon boat for a leisurely ride on Lake Nantahala at Lakes End Marina. Many hiking trails close by.
