John, a retired secondary school principal with over 40 years of experience, has also worked as adjunct faculty at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, mentoring and coaching graduate students of education. Nancy is an education consultant and former classroom teacher. They enjoy meeting new people and sharing their experiences in both Alaska and Hawaii. John and Nancy have been Alaskans since 1975 and have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.

John and Nancy have vacationed on Kauai, Big Island, Oahu, and Maui, but they love Maui best, and particularly Maalaea Bay. They keep choosing Maalaea Bay as a place to vacation because it is quiet, serene, romantic, and relaxed. They purchased Milowai 105 in 2011 and have completely renovated it. They are active owners who are constantly upgrading their unit to make it a special vacation experience for their guests.

Best stay in Maui!

We absolutely loved the location and how quiet and safe the condo location was.

What most impressed us, however, was the cleanliness and attention to details. We are very clean, tidy, and organized and to find your location met every one of our standards blew us out of the water. You had extra towels, bedding, snorkeling and swimming gear, and even travel location guides all readily available.

We have already discussed coming back next year and want to stay again at your location.

Pleasant stay!

This condo was very clean and incredibly well stocked. There were so many things we did not have to buy because they had everything there. Location was perfect! Pictures of condo are slightly misleading as there is a pool house blocking your view of the ocean. We also were not able to sleep in the bedroom because it was uncomfortably warm and had to sleep on the pull out couch the entire week. Pool was also closed for the majority of our stay. Owners were super sweet and were quick to respond to any questions and emails.

Great Condo, Good Location

My wife and I really enjoyed this condo and the location was centrally located to drive to anywhere on Maui. It was very clean and we had everything we needed. The attention to detail and the cleanliness were top of the line. The location was out of all the traffic which was great but requires a rental car for sure. It's a very windy part of the island but you appreciate it at night. The owners are great and answered several emails with questions we had about the area and things to do. They generally responded in a couple of hours or less. There is no direct access to the beach, but if you are willing to walk a few blocks, there is a wonderful beach and not overly crowded at the end of the street that the condo is on. We plan to return to Maui and would definitely stay there again.

Great condo, location !!!

My husband and I have been to Maui before but stayed at a hotel in Wailea. We wanted a change (and also were trying to save some money) this time around and decided to book a condo through HomeAway. This condo exceeded our expectations. Bathroom and kitchen are beautiful, newly renovated. Kitchen was fully stocked and had everything you could think of. Location is perfect, beautiful view right on the water, wallmart and amenities are a quick drive away. We enjoyed cooking breakfast each morning and sitting out on the lanai, and BBQing lunch/dinner while looking out on the water. The condo has body boards and snorkel gear, which we used right outside the condo and also took with us when we made a trip to the beaches at Wailea. Condo also has small coolers which we would pack and take with us for the day. Beach bar in walking distance was great for lunch, and drinks at night. Overall we had the most amazing trip. My husband and I both agreed that this trip to Maui at the condo beat out our stay at the expensive hotel in Wailea! Thank you so much Nancy and John.

This condo was everything it said it would be.

The condo was just as we had hoped it would be. Included everything you could need. The description was right on par. We have had exaggerated descriptions of places before, but this one was spot on. It was nice to have a Beach Bums walking distance away. Oh, and the happy hour is a must.

The bed was a delight. So comfortable. And big. Slept well each night.

Met Ashlee when we arrived. Such a sweet gal. Thank you for stating out our vacation with a smile.

Thank you for opening up your second home. You have done an excellent job in decorating and comfort, and at a reasonable price.

Great property!

We really enjoyed this condo and the location. It was very clean and we had everything we needed. We met some great condo owners next door.Fred and Bev and had several nice visits with them. The location was out of all the traffic which was great. We did have some very noisy neighbors two floors up,which is no fault of the owners,and something they can't control. They are great owners by the way and answered several emails with questions we had about the area and things to do. They generally responded in a couple of hours or less. There is no direct access to the beach,but if you aren't too lazy to walk a few blocks,there is a wonderful beach and not overly crowded. All in all you can't go wrong with this condo. I would definitely stay there again.
