Raised at Sunset Beach. I am now retired from Pearl Harbor. My hobby is woodworking which enabled me to recreate a truly hawaiian home of the past.
Why Owner chose Waialee
This home was aquired by our family upon the passing of our mom. We loved the many treasured memories that we had as children living on the North Shore. As children we roamed the empty lots & neighborhood & spent countless hours in the pristine waters that were only steps away. Although Sunset Beach has grown in size & population, the precious ALOHA SPIRIT remains. Spending days at this wonderful home gives us time to reconnect to our past, to enjoy the present, and to dream of the many tomorrows that we hope to have. This is what we would like to offer to you. We decided to keep this jewel in our family so that our children could share in the 'wonderful life' that we knew as children. There was no need for toys, as the beauty of the universe lay at our doorstep. This was our playground! It can be yours too. While simple in style, the home has been completely redone and is a tribute to the life that once was. We are not the biggest house on the block. We are simply the loveliest! We can promise you that you will be in the most relaxing atmosphere possible. There are days when the sea turtles choose to swim only a few feet from shore, and will not be intimidated by your swimming along side them. Sometimes, even the Hawaiian Monk Seal will choose to come to shore to bask in the warmth of the beautiful sun & sand. The turtles & the monk seals are protected by law. Because of this they are now more plentiful and do not see us a predators - just co-inhabitants who choose to co-exsist. While set away from the big hotels, just a short drive takes you to Turtle Bay Hotel & its dining facilities & outdoor activities that include horseback riding. Haleiwa Town is only 10 minutes away where you will find wonderful shops, eating places, stand-up paddleboarding, surfing lessons, and the most wonderful shave ice in the the world. We can put you in contact with one of the best surfing teachers & stand-up paddle boarding instructors on the North Shore.
What makes this House unique
We fall asleep with the soft sound of the surf. Upon waking & making our coffee, we sit in our front garden where we hear the soft music of the birds blending with the sound of the surf hitting the shoreline. Life becomes a moment of thoughtful steps. The smell of the salt air and the whisper of tradewinds brings all of our senses to its maximum potential. Peace fills the many chambers of thought, and we take in each moment with awe as to the beauty of this place. A stroll on the sand often leads to the discovery of beautful shells that have washed ashore. Collecting them for a jar of treasures or to make your own shell jewelry is limited only by your imagination. Across the street on the mountain side is Ted's Bakery, home of the famous Chocolate Haupia Pie. Ted's also has an extensive plate lunch menu for the days that you would rather not cook.

Lovely property just a few yards from the beach. Very spacious, with a large garden.
The house was perfect for our group of 4 adults and two children. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped with modern appliances. The large veranda (lanai) was a life saver as we had bad weather for most of our stay so we were able to entertain the children under cover. The North Shore has great food trucks which sell delicious food at low prices so we only cooked once. I would highly recommend the property and location. The only negative (apart from the bad weather) was the lack of a hairdryer as we expected to have one provided and therefore didn’t bring one.
So glad you enjoyed your stay! Unfortunately you thought that there was no hairdryer. It was in the bathroom tucked away in the drawer of the sink. So sorry you missed it 🙁.
Your application stated that there would be four adults and one child. Had we known there would be two we would have left an extra set of sheets for the pull out bed in the living room. Hope that you were comfortable anyway. We can only prepare for expected guest.
The back porch lights were left on as well as the flood lights. Our wonderful neighbors contacted us as they were kept up with the lights shining into their bedroom
during the night. We ran out to the North Shore and turned the switches off so there is no harm done. 🤗
Perfect once again
The North Shore is our families favorite vacation destination and once again the Jewel of Sunset Point was perfect. This home is well appointed with all the amenities you would need to enjoy the beach which is just a few feet away. Our teenaged children were happy with everything and the back yard is a wonderful space to play in as well. Thank you Stephen for another great vacation rental for us to enjoy for a week.
Fabulous home away from home
We absolutely loved our home by the sea. It was sparkling clean and had everything we could have wanted in the kitchen. The full green back yard was a nice surprise. Although you cannot see the ocean from the home, it is just steps away. I was totally comfortable with my children running back and forth alone from the beach to the house. You can hear the waves all night long it is fabulous!
Looking for a quiet place close to the beach... This place is it
Place was spotless . Neighbors were super friendly. A lot of keikes cruising having fun. I would come back again & again. We had a super time🤙🤙🤙🤙
The house was perfect for us. . .great location with very easy access to the beach. We loved watching the surfers and sunsets. It is a beautiful drive to Haleiwa and the food trucks at a nearby beach were a fun place to grab lunch and watch the ocean. The neighborhood is quiet and the house was immaculate with two very nice spacious outdoor covered porches. A really excellent place to enjoy everything the north shore has to offer. We highly recommend Jewel of Sunset Point!
Great place and well appointed
The family loved the house and as it was meters from sunset beach, and the sunsets were amazing. The house had a great feel to it as a holiday home and had everything you needed with a family of 5. It was short drive to the food trucks and with the bakery across the road made it easy options for eating if we did not want to cook.
The house was fully appointed and ready with everything you need on a holiday (kitchen condiments and appliances, beach towels, BBQ, a great coffee machine etc)
Short drive to protected beaches was easy and not a hassle.
Great place to stay.
