About Donna Bishop

I am a teacher and former journalist who loves the outdoors. Green Valley has it all.

Donna Bishop purchased this villa in 2000

Why Donna Bishop chose Haven Green Valley East

My husband and I purchased this property because of our love of the southwest. It is a quiet sanctuary that we visit often. The picturesque surroundings are breathtaking. So with this in mind we want others to enjoy the experience.

What makes this villa unique

Essentially, I love Arizona's architecture and how it compliments the surroundings. If you enjoy photography, writing, painting or any of the arts, my villa and area is highly influential and provides peace of mind.

A Perfect Spot.

  • 5 of 5

A convenient spot especially if you enjoy the market and the other nearby places of interest. Most or all of the places are within walking distance and if you don't mind a drive, there's much to see. Such as, Pima Air and Space Museum, featuring all sorts of historical aircraft; Tubac, which is an artist's colony of incredible splendor; and wine tasting? Yes indeed! I couldn't believe the wine that grows in Arizona. As per the interior, the photos say it all - all the comforts of home. Overall, this is an ideal home base in a beautiful area.

Vacation villa nightmare

  • 1 of 5

I would never recommend this villa to anyone. In very poor condition. Both door broken, leaky plumbing, dirty bed when i arrived at ten pm., roach dropping on silverware and dishes. I duct taped screen in bedroom so i could open the window. I scrubbed the whole time i was there for the next renters because it was not clean. Owners obviously have not been there for quite some time or they would have known to get repairs done.

Owner's Response: I have been fortunate in the almost 20 years of advertising through VRBO, to have had wonderful renters and not one bad review. This individual caused both my husband and I nothing but grief toward the end of her stay. Her first statement is completely untrue as she did recommend my place to her friends. In an earlier e-mail sent via VRBO she wrote (and I quote) "Do you have this villa rented out for the month of march 2017? If you dont i know someone who is looking to rent just for that month." A disgrunted renter would not recommend a place she disliked to her friends. In addition, she chose to complain the last 10 days and not her earlier 5 weeks prior. The only thing I can surmise is - she got homesick, probably realized she spent more money than she could afford and tried to create an opportunity using complaints to get some money back. She sent me threatening e-mails including one with a resounding finale statement "make me an offer" (or I will complain on VRBO (which she did)). Then she mailed me a harassing letter as well. In terms of her complaints about dirty sheets, screens etc. - unfounded. I had my place inspected twice before her arrival and it was related to be clean on both occasions. "I think we left the apartment in tip top shape. Everything was cleaned from top to bottom". I then had my property man come in, and reported, "Everything is fine, left in very clean condition." After the complaining woman left, I had my handyman go in and check on any needed repairs. He reported that any repairs were minor and could be fixed in a couple of hours, (which he did). The final irony was the mess this person left upon her departure. My cleaning lady reported that the kitchen, refrigerator etc. was left dirty. This brings to question her final comment - that she was cleaning the place so it would be clean for the next renters. (Not) The complainer also failed to mention that I returned her cleaning deposit as I had given my word (prior to investigation). I tried to reach her by phone on at least three occasions, but she did not pick up the phone. It was on her way home that she reported, in an e-mail , that her phone was not working. Again, something doesn't measure up. Could the next target of her abuse be the phone company? In conclusion, VRBO investigated this matter and cleared the case as I had clearly done more than my due diligence.
