Three bedroom, 1.5 bathroom beach duplex with bright and airy great room overlooking the treetops. This 2nd floor, walk-up unit is entirely seperate from the owners' unit below.

The south end of the boardwalk and beach are about 4 1/2 blocks away. Best of all, no need to cross Route 1 to get to the beach.

If you like Dwell Magazine, this might be your kind of place. Great light, gentle cross breezes and simple, efficient design set it apart from other beach rentals.

Decks on two levels enlarge the living space. First deck at ground level is perfect for private sunbathing and a great 'drop zone' for beach chairs, umbrellas and towels after a big day at the beach. The upper screened deck is perfect for post-beach cocktails and family style dinner.

Finally.....there's the outdoor shower. Down a boarded path, the shower is tucked away at the back of the property. It's private, yet open, with a big 'rain' shower head and bench. You'll miss it once you've returned home.

This unit was completely repainted and updated with new beds, sofas and carpet during the winter of 2014/15. Winter renovations in 2015/16 brought renovations to the 1.5 bathrooms with new tile, fresh paint and updated fixtures. For the 2017 season there will be additional emphasis on landscaping and outdoor amenities.

A note about email inquiries: Please don't be troubled if my response isn't immediate. I travel frequently (sometimes to places with sketchy wifi and cell coverage) and often don't get an opportunity to deal with rental questions until evening hours.

Also, please check the availability calendar. I keep it up to date and if the week is blocked out it means a) the unit is already booked by family or friends, or b) I've already cashed a check from someone who is looking foward to a beach week and I don't have any flexibility for those dates.

This property is primarily a seasonal getaway for two Washingtonians. We keep the downstairs unit for ourselves and use the upstairs as a rental and accommodations for visiting family and friends.

Getting off the plane Friday I literally felt like I was waking up from a dream....which was a first time experience for me, and very surprising, as I have done a fair amount of traveling...

We go east every summer, and we're already looking forward to next year....We usually stay a week on the South Jersey shore (my family is there), and one in RB, but we're considering spending both weeks in RB next year! We'll see!



Again, we completely enjoyed your place, and were very comfortable there! Thank you!

Notes:
A great OUTDOOR SHOWER is one of the best perks of beach living....and ours is pretty sweet with a wonderful rain shower head. The screened dining porch is perfect for post beach cocktails and family dining.

Wonderful property and great owners- we had the best week at the beach

My husband , daughter and I spent 4 days at this great spot, and it was such a treat. Great space, clean modern and a wonderful outdoor porch where we had all our meals. Its in a lovely little neighborhood, close enough to all the action in "downtown" Rehoboth" ( my 5 year old could walk there) and far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet- especially during the holiday week. The owners are kind and accessible. I highly recommend folks to rent this property, we definitely will be back.

Perfect place and amazing location! Phil was a great host and made our stay!

First of all and most importantly, you can't beat the location here. It truly was perfect as it sits right by Rehobeth and Dewey (not to mention Silver Lake which is great for walks in the evening). To top it off there is a great organic market right across the street that came in handy very often. In terms of the unit itself everything was perfect. It's a very comfortable place no matter how long your stay and Phil was a great host and that made sure of it. Phil was very flexible in accommodating the dates we wanted to rent and responsive throughout the week. To top it off the unit was stocked with more than enough clean sheets and towels along with some necessities that were definitely a bonus like toothbrushes and toothpaste. You can tell the owner takes care of this property. It was perfectly clean and everything was in order which was great to see upon arriving. My favorite part of the property is the outside which has two awesome decks that are both kept very well and have awesome privacy from the street. I did not expect to spend so much time outside but it is a great area for both grilling and eating and just hanging out. Lastly the outdoor shower made it incredibly easy to walk to and from the beach and clean off before coming in, something we definitely appreciated. Overall the place was spacious and clean and Phil was a great host. Would absolutely stay here again!

Well Kept, Great Value and Close to Town

We stayed here for a week in August with our 2 young girls (ages 4 and 1) and had a great time. The space is clean with modern touches (not your typical tacky beach house). The outdoor decks and landscaping give you a sense of seclusion and privacy. The outdoor shower is awesome, especially after a day at the beach and you don't want the kids tracking sand through the house. It is in relatively close proximity to Rehoboth Avenue, about 15 minutes or so, but it is enjoyable, as you pass through Silver Lake and the surrounding neighborhood. If you have bikes, there are plenty of racks to lock them up on the boardwalk. Overall, a great time, and we will consider it again in the future.

Comfy and convenient

The description of this rental is accurate and complete -- no surprises. Two of the best features of this rental were the owners. They made it very easy to communicate with them by phone and text. I never got the feeling that even my smallest concern was neglected in any way. The place was, as described in other reviews, cozy, not fancy but with many nice features, comfortable and clean. The outdoor shower really is a gem. Our only problem was who would get to use it first! The screened porch was quite enjoyable, too.

The other reviews were also quite helpful in getting more details about the walk to the beach (quite reasonable) and other things we wanted to know. We did buy a parking permit for the week, just in case, and we found the closest street adjacent to the beach had plenty of parking during the week so we could drive our chairs and other gear there rather than having to walk with them (only slightly more crowded on weekend, get there around 9 or earlier and you shouldn't have an issue). Very convenient. The duplex is close to route 1, so there was a reasonably muted (but audible) traffic noise at night with the windows open, in the room closest to the road. It did not keep me awake.

It may be something we'd like to take for granted, but when you get a rental and really have no complaints of any significance, then you know the owners have really put a lot of thought and care into the unit. Everything was in working order. My main caution to renters is that if you plan to do much cooking, be aware that the cookware is a bit random and the kitchen stove is really only sufficient for very simple meals. We were probably more interested in cooking "at home" than the average renters. Specifically (for example): almost all the pots and pans are old Teflon (got a couple others from the thrift store across the way); we had to buy knives (and a used knife sharpener) because the knives in the drawer were very dull; there was no grater (but a nice garlic press); and the burners on the stove were not level, making any hot liquids a bit of a hazard. I should also mention, if you want to eat inside, there are 4 stools around the kitchen counter, but no real indoor dining area. On the plus side, there is a small health food store literally across the street, so last minute purchases were a snap.We genuinely enjoyed our stay and felt we got our money's worth; I believe you will, too. Our sincere thanks to the owners for being so warm and gracious.

Owner's Response: This response is a little belated, but I wanted to respond to the kitchen observations. You were right! We used the upstairs unit all winter while renovations took place downstairs. It was a good exercise, helping me understand what works and doesn't. As a consequence, we've replaced the range (stovetop surface are more level). We also replaced/reorganized cookware and service ware. It will never be mistaken for Julia Child's kitchen, but I think we hit the most critical/functional shortcomings. Thanks for flagging.

A relaxing place to stay.

The upstairs home was cozy, clean, efficient and had everything we needed. Three bedrooms and master is separated with small bathroom. Location was a big factor and we enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Also, great to be in walking distance of the downtown entertainment and eating places. There was a nice garden area and outdoor shower was a big hit. Yes, we stay there again and probably will.

Great spot for beach vacation

My husband and I stayed here for a week, mostly by ourselves with visitors for one weekend. We enjoyed the open kitchen/living, enclosed porch, deck, outdoor shower, beach chairs, bikes and washer/dryer. It was a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride to St Lawrence beach. We also walked to dinner in Rehoboth (20 min) a couple of times. Property owner was downstairs for part of our stay and was very helpful in answering any questions. Would definitely stay here again.
