Our fully furnished, 2 bedroom plus den/2.5 bathroom, beautiful non-smoking townhouse in central Ballard is available to rent from June 2018 through Sept. 15, 2018, and from Feb. 1 through April 30, 2019. Weekly and monthly rentals available.

Built in 2006, our clean, modern townhouse is located on a residential street in the heart of historic Ballard, arguably the best neighborhood in Seattle. It’s just three blocks north of Market Street and near Ballard Avenue, old Ballard’s shopping and entertainment district.

ABOUT THE TOWNHOUSE

The townhouse is 1,450 square feet over three levels, with new, modern furnishings. It’s south-facing and gets plenty of natural light. The ground level has an entry way with a coat closet, and an office/den with a sofabed and closet that opens onto a private, fenced deck with a propane firepit.

On the second level there’s an open living room/kitchen layout with stainless steel appliances and bamboo floors throughout; a well-equipped kitchen that everything a home cook would need; a living room with a sofa, loveseat and chair; and a dining table that can seat up to eight. The top floor has two bedrooms with queen-sized beds and attached bathrooms, and a laundry room with a washer and dryer. There is an alarm system for added safety and security.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

Walk to your choice of fantastic restaurants, several grocery stores (the nearest is less than two blocks away), bakeries, locally owned shops, historic bars, live music venues, Ballard’s renowned brewery district (at least 10 breweries within walking distance), the Ballard locks, beautiful Golden Gardens park and beach, Seattle's best farmers market (open year-round on Sundays), and many other amenities.

Ballard is one of the best neighborhoods in the city for dining. Craving poke or Vietnamese? In the mood for Mexican or a fancy dinner? A hearty breakfast at a mom-and-pop diner? A delicious pastry over coffee on a Sunday morning? A carefully crafted cocktail? Some of the best craft beers in the state? You can get it all in Ballard.

The year-round Sunday farmers market, just a few blocks away, is outstanding. Watch ships passing through the Ballard Locks and walk to Shilshole Marina or beautiful Golden Gardens Park and beach. Our townhouse is ideally located with easy access to downtown, the UW and South Lake Union on several major bus routes. It is right on the Ballard Neighborhood Greenway and is a few blocks from the 27-mile Burke-Gilman Trail, making it a cyclist's dream come true.

Why Deborah chose Old Ballard

We bought our townhouse even before the old house that previously occupied the lot was torn down. It was the perfect location in the neighborhood we most wanted to live in. Seattle is a city of neighborhoods, and at first it can be difficult to tell one from another. But they are all distinctly different. Ballard was once a Scandinavian fishing village before being annexed to Seattle in 1907. Though the neighborhood has changed and developed in recent years, it still maintains its seafaring history and is a great mix of old and new, traditional and modern. And with about a dozen breweries within walking distance of our townhouse, Ballard has become the craft beer center of Seattle.

What makes this townhome unique

The biggest benefit to us of our townhouse is its location and all the great amenities nearby. There are several good grocery stores in the area (the nearest is two short blocks down the street and is open 24 hours), and a drugstore a block from there.

On Saturday mornings we might stop by the Tall Grass Bakery for a fresh baguette or go next door to Besalu to read the paper over a wonderful pastry. Sundays we'll go to the farmers market on Ballard Avenue, picking up a few seasonal ingredients before heading to a pub for a pint of some of Seattle's finest beer. Our townhouse is three short blocks to Market Street, Ballard's main thoroughfare, and adjoining historic Ballard Avenue, which is lined with beautiful old buildings. The area has a movie theater, live music venues and almost any type of restaurant and bar you could want, from old-school dives to cocktail lounges, sushi to Mexican, seafood to Thai food.

In the other direction, heading west along Market Street takes you to the Ballard Locks, where ships pass through from Lake Union to Puget Sound. Visitors can also check out the salmon ladders on the site, which help spawning salmon travel upstream to their home rivers. The Locks are surrounded by beautiful treed grounds and flower gardens that make a perfect picnic site.

A couple of miles west is Golden Gardens, a beautiful park and beach with views of the Olympic mountains. Walk along the sandy shoreline, check out the duck pond, hike through wooded trails, play beach volleyball and fish off a pier and a boat launch.

Visitors can also walk across the locks to Discovery Park. At 534 acres, it's the city's largest park. Overlooking Puget Sound from high, broad bluffs, it contains forested groves, open meadow lands, sand dunes, thickets and streams. Both parks are among the city's most beautiful and are well worth a visit.

Nice neighborhood!

I was here with 3 girlfriends and we had a great time. (September.) Ballard is a quaint suburb of Seattle. We went to the Farmer's Market which was awesome! One of the most unique things is the Ballard Locks - amazing to watch and a must-see if you've never seen how Locks work. Also, we were there in the middle of Salmon season so got to see the salmon swimming upstream at the salmon ladder. Amazing.

The townhouse is just a couple of blocks from a grocery store and about a 10 minute walk from downtown Ballard. Parking in Seattle is hard, so we mainly just parked in the neighborhood and UBER'd to downtown Seattle. Rooms were comfy and we hung out on the patio with a bottle of wine some nights. We had amazing weather the whole time!

from SF to Seattle: Wedding

I recently stayed here for a wedding with a girlfriend, that was a few blocks away. The amenities were perfect, the place was clean and allowed us to have a bit of privacy. Loved the proximity to bars and restaurants -- check out Portage Bay Cafe (2 blocks walking distance on 28th/Market).

Deborah was easy to work with and very responsive on all our needs. Looking forward to our next trip to Seattle. Thanks!

Lovely Home, Excellent Location!

This beautiful home was perfect for myself, my husband, my sister, and a friend on a visit to the Seattle area. The four of us fit very comfortably in the house, which is located in a terrific neighborhood. The shops and restaurants in Ballard are well worth exploring, and downtown Seattle is an easy bus ride away. The owners of the home were very helpful, providing all the necessary information and even leaving some treats for us upon our arrival. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the Seattle area.

Great place to stay

Our family found this rental to be very comfortable and cozy. The owners have gone out of their way to provide a home away from home. We enjoyed coming back to the house after our outings and just relaxing. We had comfortable beds, a wonderful kitchen complete with all the cooking gadgets you might need, clean, new bathrooms with nice towels and toiletries and a cozy living room with a flat screen TV and DVD player. The house is very clean and feels like new. The location is perfect for going to the beach or strolling through the Ballard area. There are delicious bakeries and charming shops just around the corner. The owners are very friendly and easy to communicate with. We will definitely stay here again when we get the opportunity. We highly recommend this home.

Fabulous rental,everything was perfect!!

We just had a great experience staying at Deborah and Marty's townhouse!! The neighborhood is in a very centrally located spot,and is just a short walk to the Locks,as well as shopping,grocery store,and just about anything we could think of. The house was gorgeous inside with beautiful bamboo floors,any appliance you will need,and furnished with very nice couches that were great for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. All the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were beautifully decorated. Everything was better than advertised and would recommend it to anyone. We would definitely come back to stay there again. Thanks for a great experience!!

Our townhouse is ideal for 2 to 4 adults. It can accommodate a fifth/sixth person on a sofabed in the office/den if need be, but there is not a bathroom on that level (ground level). It is not suitable for young children, since there are a lot of stairs and the townhouse is not childproofed.
