Major theme parks including Disney World are in the Orlando area about a two hour drive away. Busch Gardens is located northeast of downtown Tampa less than an hour's drive from the unit. A bit over a mile to the north on Gulf Blvd is John's Pass where there are numerous restaurants & gift shops in addition to fishing boat, dolphin watching boat tours, wave runner and para-sailing rentals available. The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is in the community of Indian Shores a bit over five miles to the north on Gulf Blvd. Several county parks which are maintained in a natural 'old Florida' state and are great for picnics, hiking or walking and enjoying the great outdoors, are nearby. Alligators, turtles, birds and other animals in their natural habitat can usually be seen from the boardwalks at Saw Grass Park. The Treasure Island Causeway/107th Ave/Central Ave will take you directly to downtown St Petersburg, The Pier, the Dali Museum, & Vinoy Park.
