About the property

Studio, 1 Bath, Sleeps 4

Villa Valentino #10 is a large, bright studio apartment built in the 1920’s in the heart of Hollywood.  It has been recently restored and fully furnished. It is located on the second floor with a private balcony overlooking the central courtyards and a cozy gas log fireplace in the living room. The vintage range in the kitchen adds to the ambiance. This fabulous property is located just 2 blocks south of the Hollywood Bowl, and 2 blocks north of the “Heart of Hollywood” district at Hollywood Blvd and Highland Ave. Easy walking access to Disney’s El Capitan Theater, the Kodak Theater, Graumann’s Chinese Theater, the Metro station, restaurants galore and many other attractions. Close access to the 101 Freeway. Off-street parking.

Designed by the Davis Brothers Architects, Villa Valentino is designated as Los Angles City Cultural Monument #397, and is one of the best remaining examples of the Garden Court style of architecture from the early 20th century. It is a hidden gem. Step back in time.

What a find this place is. You enter through a sliding iron steel gate to a tranquil oasis. The unit is a spacious studio. Beautiful. Full kitchen, large fridge, stove, oven, microwave. Just a few blocks from Hollywood Blvd., Graumans Chinese Theatre, Walk-of-Fame, tour buses, etc. Supermarkets within a mile or so (Pavilion, Ralphs, Trader Joe's). Supplied with dish soap, hand soap, paper towels, bath tissue, cooking utensils and pans, coffee maker & filters, bed linens and towels.

We had a family of four, out two boys 8 and 10. Great place for a quick stay. Loved the convenient location to the Red Line to go to Universal. The apartment itself was beautiful. You could feel the history there. Also loved how close it was to the Chineses Yneatre.

Great place two blocks from all the tourist activity on Hollywood Blvd. So much fun to stay in an historic venue. Very clean apartment. The grounds are nicely landscaped. Off-street secure parking is a big plus.

This was a great property! I would definitely stay there again. Was so close to red line metro. Hollywood Blvd was right there, so it was nice to have a kitchen to use instead of paying tourist prices for meals. Find Bossa Nova on Sunset (about 1 mile walk) for yummy, reasonable meal. Had some issues with internet connection at first, but it worked itself out. Also, no hair dryer, ice trays, or coffee filters in apt, but they do have salt, pepper, and a seasoning. Would definitely recommend!!

Reviewer Comments:

Our little studio was darling, appointed nicely, fully functional, comfortable, and set the mood for a trip to Hollywood perfectly! It had a very Spanish feel to it. The gated grounds and courtyards were beautifully landscaped, romantically lit and quiet, with the sounds of the busy Hollywood streets muted by the sounds of little fountains sprinkled around the area. We had a small balcony that opened over the whole sweet little scene, and all the windows swung open to let in the November breeze. Fit a family of four just fine with a Murphy bed and a fold out couch. Nice cotton sheets, and fluffy, large towels in the bathroom. Plenty to cook with in terms of pots and pans, dishes and dish soap and paper towels, but no seasoning or oils or anything, so be sure to bring your own. We loved the manager, Carrie, who was laid back but very informational and very helpful! We had a leak down one wall during our stay caused by a broken hot water heater above us, but Carrie sent a very nice gentleman up within minutes, and it was fixed right away. A friend who is a film historian in LA came and visited us at this property and fell in love with it immediately! I think that speaks to the charm of the place. Minutes on foot from the Hollywood walk of stars, restaurants, the metro, and the Hollywood Bowl. We used the metro to get to Universal Studios and downtown, and it was cheap and easy to figure out. This review says we are from WA for some reason, but we are really from Salem OR.
