I've grown up in Southern California and have loved the Los Angeles beaches my entire life. My family has lived in the Venice community for the past ten years. My husband and I frequently enjoy visits to Venice where we love going to the local restaurants and bike riding on the boardwalk. It is very important to us that our guests have an enjoyable stay at Venice-By-The-Sea. We take pride in our property and are responsive to our guests needs. Our family lives in the building, so we are able interact with our guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between. Our property is fully furnished and has all the amenities of home!

This property is in a great location. The beach and bike paths are literally right out the door. It sits on the corner of the Walk Street and Speedway. It's central to everything there is to experience in Venice while being towards the quiet end of town. Just north of Washington, you can walk to some of the best restaurants in LA or grab some coffee.

We have remodeled this apartment and maximized every inch of space, making it highly efficient and comfortable. Having its own parking garage is so convenient because parking is at a premium in the area. The Walk Street is so quaint and visitors love casually running into the rich and famous.

Unit was comfortable and clean, had everything we needed for my family of 3. Parking is a little crazy in the area so the parking garage is definitely a plus. Great location, easy access to the beach and Venice boardwalk.

Great Place to Enjoy Venice Beach!

We highly recommend this Venice Beach property to anyone looking for a good compromise of location, cost, and cleanliness, would definitely give it 4.5 if we could. The room was exactly like the pictures, the beds were very comfortable, everything was there that we needed, just had to add a quick run to Ralph's. We really appreciated that everything was so nice and clean. The garage is right beneath your unit, so convenient to have beach parking. Definitely don't bring anything bigger than a small SUV. Our Jeep had about 3-4 inches to spare. We loved having a real washer and dryer, we were able to pack lighter knowing we could run a couple loads while staying. And can't beat the tankless water heater for everyone to shower.

Sandy was great to deal with, very responsive, and quick to provide some advice for our first trip to LA. Getting in and out were simple and quick, with clear instructions to getting the keys and where everything was to be found. Couple nit picky things, there was only one teaspoon, and the kitchen towels doesn't dry anything, we ended up using a small bathroom hand towel. Don't let those things dissuade you though, it was a wonderful stay.

Easy walking to Washington street, to the beach, and to the boardwalk. Lots of good restaurants there (We loved the Venice Charcoal, and Wings,but I say avoid the Whaler). We spent lots of days on the beach, or walking the boardwalk, checking out the shops and people watching. It was also a great base for touristing out to Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Universal Studios, etc. Traffic to/from Disney was more of a pain.

The only reason we didn't give it five stars was the noise from the neighbor upstairs the last two nights was a bit annoying, but Sandy said she would take care of it, so I just recommend you let Sandy know if there are any other noise issues. Also, the pictures kind of imply roof area, but it was cleared out and all the chairs are on the new patio, but the grill is still up there, so we didnt get to grill dinner at home. Also, the Keurig is gone, replaced with a Mr Coffee pot. We just had to go buy our own coffee. Little things for sure.

Our family felt right at home, we ate breakfast in every morning, enjoyed our own coffee. Our two teen boys loved their own bedroom and bathroom, and really enjoyed being so close to the beach that they could head over whenever they wanted.

Thanks Sandy, if our vacations bring us back to Venice, we'll be back to stay!

Modern and great location

The location is really nice and close to all the action, lots of people watching and great walk to the Venice pier and many good restaurants. C and O trattoria is so good, I highly Recommend!! Larry's is really great also. Over all the place is great but more attention needs to be towards the furniture and the air mattress and possibly a few chairs for the table over by the fireplace. Outside of apartment building is less than desired but once you get inside it's great, modern and remodeled. Couch needs to be thrown away, literally falling apart and peeling. Air mattress has a leak so don't plan on sleeping for longer than an hour without pumping up. There was another air mattress but no pump provided so we could not use in place of one with leak. Electric ignition lighter on cook top does not work, quite a dangerous situation you have to use lighter that is provided. Nicely done remodel with modern touches, great showers, sinks, fans and kitchen. I would reccomend this to anyone who wants to be in the center of the action of Venice Beach. The garage is great also, we had a BMW 325 and a Jetta and they both fit perfectly. Thanks to the owner for recommendations on a place to keep our dog when we were down there, it worked out great. Overall a nice place. Thank you very much for sharing your place!

Owner's Response: ***OWNER UPDATE: SOFA The sofa has been replaced with a brand new highest quality leather sleeper sofa with high quality, very comfortable gel mattress. COOKTOP: The cooktop is in perfect working order. There has never been a problem with it. We would never put the building at risk of fire and provide a lighter for that!! I'm not sure where the confusion was. I was not aware that you needed air mattresses. They are only used when our guests have more that 6 people (we charge an additional $25/person). We would have helped you with new air mattresses had you notified us of any extra guests. This is why I always make sure that guests know to contact me with any problems that may arise, as I am always available by cell phone. Aside from the issues you mentioned, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I only wish I had known about any problems while you were there so that we could have had the opportunity to help you. We are a family owned property, and we always want to do our very best to make sure those who stay with us are happy. Thanks again for coming.

Modern and clean

The interior of the unit is exactly as the pictures show. It was very clean and modern with high end appliances. The exterior is older, damaged stucco and could definitely use new paint. The bedrooms are not very private. Bedroom #1 has glass slider doors that are frosted and the other has a cut out in the drywall open to the living room. Although it looks cool and trendy...not very private. The best feature is each bedroom has its own remodeled bathroom. The whole remodel was done well. The unit is very close to the beach, just behind one row of homes. The rooftop deck photos are more enticing than it actually is. There were 2 rusted patio heaters, no cushions on lounges and the chairs were too rickety to sit on. We thought we would spend most evenings up there, but it wasn't really set up for that. The description of the garage is very accurate. Only smaller cars will fit. This is documented in the description, so please take note. We have a large SUV, an expedition, and there is no way it would fit. We had to park almost 2 miles away on our first day. There are parking garage options on the website. The alley in front and to the side of the unit are very loud at night. There were homeless people walking through each night we were there rummaging through the trash cans that woke us up throughout the night. The very best part of the rental was working with Sandy. She responds almost immediately. The rental went smoothly from check in to check out to receiving our deposit back very quickly. It seems the art of customer service has gone missing, but Sandy sure has it!!! She was a pleasure.
