Relaxing, and private
The house was perfect for a girls weekend get together. Close enough to Galena yet we felt we were away from it all.
Great space, quiet, tidy and the hot tub was wonderful
Thank you so much for your comments. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay!

Great Place, Quiet Area, Couldn't ask for more
Suited most needs
It's tough to write a constructive review without sounding overly critical. This property for the most part gave us a place to stay, to gather, but was not a favorite. This may not be for us, but it may suit families who want a cabin feel & use of the facilities(which we did not use). Home was comfortable yet quite dated home. This for us was just mediocre. On a positive note: The layout was good for kitchen, dining and deck mingling. Had most things you would need & was well equipped. In totality it was fine, we enjoyed our time, but won't return.
Thank you for staying with us and sorry to hear this home did not meet all of your expectations, we do appreciate your comments. We have been working on getting the home updated. This home does have a great open floor plan for people to enjoy and we hope that someday you will choose to return. Again we appreciate you staying with us and giving us your feedback.
Cute house 20 years agp
From the falling apart wallpaper to the worn out linoleum floors, the home was quite outdated. Bathrooms were so worn out and dated, fireplace front was all black from smoke and the house smelled like a camp fire. All the carpets and walls were dirty This is a super cute building in a great location. But needs major rehab. None of the 4 of us thought a single bed was comfortable. The great sunset view must only be when the trees are bare.
Thank you for staying with us and for the comments. We have been working on getting these items updated. The mattresses have been replaced since your stay and we will continue to work on the other issues as we can. We hope that someday you will choose to return. Again we appreciate you staying with us and giving your feedback.
Place was charming! On a nice piece of wooded land. House is at the end of a quiet cul de sac with ample space in between properties. Really felt private and out of the way. The property is part of Eagle Ridge, so you pass the golf courses to get in and out. Loved the fireplace. No need for a starter log as previous reviewer suggested. Just have some crumpled newspaper and collect some nice dry twigs for kindling from outside and you'll be good to go. The fires we made were roaring, beautiful, and very warm. They provide loads of firewood to use.
The air was so fresh that we slept like babies.
The downside for us and why not 5 stars: Unfortunately, one of the reasons we rented the place was to enjoy the beauty, the hot tub, the fireplace, and to GRILL. We don't have a grill in the city where we live and were so looking forward to staying in, relaxing and grilling. We didn't want to go out every evening and drive the 6.5 miles into town for a meal. We went out and bought a nice amount of local stuff supporting the Galena economy to find the grill running out of propane just shortly into cooking. We tried to salvage the meal, but the stove is electric and not one pan in the house is non-stick (cooks--bring a couple non-stick pans or don't bother trying to make food without grilling). Everything stuck and the pans were almost impossible to clean. Had to soak some of them for three days to be able to clean them. Yeah. :(
When the grill died wE called the rental company but it was closed. We did get a callback, but were hoping there was another tank we could replace the empty one with--no dice. They were friendly and heard our disappointment, but did nothing to amend the situation. We had hoped for some courtesy discount given that the grill is part of the rental and that we wasted money and food. Alas, the best they seemed to be able to do was offer to bring another tank, but at that point...starving, to wait another hour for them to come wasn't an option. We just ate out.
We would like to suggest that the propane tank is checked (especially in September) and consider having a replacement tank on the property to avoid another renter from wasting money, time, etc.
The place is perfect for one or two couples. Lots of board games in the basement, a foosball table, and a ping pong table. But mainly we sat out on the deck reading facing the sun and trees and enjoyed the sounds of nature.
Hope this review was helpful.
