The house and location proved to be everything that we needed for our potentially large group. Although not every member of our family was able to make it, we still had a great turnout. The kitchen was perfect for our gourmet cooks and dining areas were sufficient for our numbers. Sleeping was both comfortable and plentiful. The upper deck was so relaxing with a wonderful view of the lake. We rented a large pontoon boat to explore and witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets - ever! Brought a few skidoos with us which our teenagers took turns enjoying. In all, The house and location were what we had hoped for and more. Beautiful countryside too. Thank you for making us feel so comfortable and being so easy to work with.
This house and destination was great. The house was spacious enough for 12 guests (7 adults and 5 kids) to feel comfortable. The house was very clean and well maintained and also very welcoming. The house has very nice appliances and a nice big gas grill and all of the comforts one would expect. We stayed 9 nine days and really fell in love with the house, lake and everything about the trip. We brought our 20 foot bowrider and kept it at the dock which had about 8 ft deep water under it. We will definitely try to do a repeat in the future. LeAnn the homeowner was very nice and answered any questions over the phone before we booked the house. I would recommend this house to anyone wanting a beautiful house on the lake.
We just spent a fantastic Father's Day weekend at this lake house. We had two families and our children who are all in their 20's. That meant we had 12 adults in the house and we never felt cramped for a moment. The house is big and has been well laid out. There are two large decks that run the length of the house, an upper and lower one. There is plenty of seating outside for everyone to sit out and enjoy the view, which we did! We rented a boat and enjoyed having the covered dock right there for our convenience. The house is on a quiet cove and we loved how peaceful it was. LeAnn was super easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions I had when we were making our plans. When we arrived everything was exactly as promised. I would rent this house again without hesitation and we have already been telling all our friends what a great place this was.
We recently spent two weeks at Lake Hartwell and had a very enjoyable time with our four kids, spouses and grand kids. The upstairs living/dining area was more than adequate for our group of 13. Tables and chairs on the deck made it very easy to dine in or outdoors. The garden tub in the master bathroom was a feature enjoyed by all ages!
For outdoor recreation, we were able to drive a few minutes away to the community center for tennis, basketball and swimming. The kiddie pool was especially nice for our five grand kids (4 yrs. and under). Our guys also enjoyed the nearby golf course, very reasonably priced.
Stores and restaurants are not really close, so planning your outings is helpful. There are fun places to see and one we liked was the Stumphouse Tunnel and Issaqueena Falls at Walhalla. For large family or group gatherings, we would definitely recommend this lovely vacation home.
Had a wonderful time with family and friends. The lake and mountains were beautiful and everywhere we looked was a gorgeous view! The house was fantastic with lots of room for everyone and the view from the deck was remarkable. Ventured out for a short drive (about 2 hours) to the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina, did some white water rafting and found a bunch of beautiful waterfalls (there's about 10 or more locally). Would recommend it to anyone.
House was perfect size and arrangement for our family of four (me, wife, 12 & 15 yr old), my mom and dad, two brothers, 14 yr old neice and 17 yr old nephew and another brother and friend who stayed for several days. Large deck and porch and open flow of living/dining/kitchen was perfect for having some friends/co-workers over on Fri and Sat nights for socializing and cooking out.
Lower level family room worked great for giving kids some more space and separation from adults. Path to lake is a very comfortable incline and distance compared to a lot of lake lots.
We rented a boat and it was an easy pickup at the nearby Choestoea boat ramp located within subdivision. Got gas at the Harbor Light Marina which was not a bad distance to drive boat to. Did not use the pool and tennis/basketball courts but drove by and they looked impressive. Covered dock worked great to tie off boat and kayaks and had comfortable amount of space for hanging out and jumping off. We did have to buy some home defense spray to kill all the spiders on the dock. Got tired of all their webs each morning:)
Adjacent lake is great size for boating/tubing right around dock. The rock "cliffs" located right around corner were a big hit with everyone for ability to use the rope and climb and jump into the lake. Was a lot of fun and memory for all the kids and young at heart. Also on Tue and Wed we were the ONLY boat on the lake by the house. Doesn't get any better than that. Even Sat boat traffic was not to bad for Summer lake traffic.
Had a slight issue at check-in with confusion on arrival date, and key and house were not ready when we arrived. Owners were incredibly responsive and arrived in minutes to clean up and get us in.
We will consider renting again next summer and would highly recommend to others.
