A lovely place to stay!
We rented this house for a bachelorette weekend and it was perfect! We comfortably slept 9 people and there was plenty of room for cooking and hanging out (inside and out). The kitchen was completely stocked with every appliance/gadget/utensil anyone would need, and the rest of the house had everything we needed. All you need to being is food and drinks! The owner was really great about communicating and a really nice person as well. Will definitely be renting this house again and would highly recommend it for a large group or family.
The River Seven
We planned plenty of trips into nearby towns, shopping, a winery visit and dinners at great restaurants - but we only ventured out for ONE day, the house is that amazing! We kayaked, rode bikes, cooked meals, laughed, danced and drank wine...a perfect getaway for seven women friends who have known each other for over 20 years!
Perfect place for our retreat
Everything about this property was exactly what we wanted for our group of a dozen 30-something women. It was close enough to fabulous vineyards, but far enough away to feel like a real get-away. Joan, our host, was quick to respond to my questions and provided loads of helpful information about the area.
The home was spotless and had just the right mix of a comfy/luxurious vibe. We loved how the space was divided up so there were plenty of common areas and the bedrooms were spread with en suite bathrooms. Joan has the closets stocked with plenty of towels and bedding.
We’d planned on cooking most meals for our weekend and found the kitchen had everything and more that we needed. Coffee maker, wine glasses, serving utensils, platters, etc... it really was a chef’s kitchen!
We also enjoyed being on the water even though the river was running too quickly for us to get in. We played lawn games one afternoon and some of the girls enjoyed the fire pit while others preferred lounging on the deck outside of the living room.
Overall, it was a wonderful weekend thanks in no small part to Joan and the property itself.
The perfect getaway!
Tonight we counted up the times we’ve stayed at Joan’s fabulous riverfront houses - 4: 3 times at this house and one at her first house up the road. Our week in late May coincided with two graduations and visits with long time NJ friends. This house is absolutely perfect for family reunions and for friends coming together to celebrate years of friendships.
We’re cooks - and everything evolves around the dining table for us. I had no doubt the kitchen would have what we needed: Hungarian sweet paprika, a lemon zester, and best of all - well sharpened chef’s knives. Whether eating at the long table in the kitchen/main room or at river level in the screened in porch, this is the place for shared good times.
The beds could not be more comfortable, and each bedroom is absolutely cozy. This year the elevator came in handy for a husband with ailing knees. My 14 year old grandson and I had a super time kayaking up river - in a high level and swiftly moving Delaware and then an hour or so biking on the canal tow path.
We’re already thinking and dreaming of our next visit. Thank you, Joan, for thinking of everything!
wonderful, spacious home - well equipped!
This home is as advertised. We stayed during Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed the views, the spaciousness, the multiple decks, and the attention to detail. Part of what drew us was the elevator, since one person in our group has trouble with stairs. The entire group LOVED the house.
A particularly wonderful aspect of the house is the well equipped kitchen - with all a chef would want to cook, and the pots and pans and dinnerware to feed our group of 12. A VERY appreciated element of our stay was that Joan leaves so many items you need if you prepare food and/or cook - spices, condiments, etc - in the kitchen. It is annoying to show up to a place with a kitchen and find there is not even a salt shaker... this experience was the opposite - there were loads of those items you need only a little of - possibly left by prior renters (we left some BBQ sauce and some rum we couldn't finish)....
And, the fact that there were several bikes and a kayak was also a completely great amenity. Even though they weren't used by many of us, the few of us who used them really appreciated them being available.
All in all, Joan is remarkably welcoming, solicitous of us as guests, and very accommodating. If we ever go back to that area, we would go to that house with a group.
I can’t say enough good things about Joan and this property. My fiancé and I stayed the weekend with three other couples for his birthday. The house was beautiful but cozy all at the same time. We had enough space to be together or spread out for privacy. Perfect for groups. Everything was provided already, right down to condiments! Joan literally thought of everything and was courteous the entire way. Even with poor weather, we had a wonderful time. Not only is the house amazing but there are so many things to check out in the area as well. We would definitely stay here again!
The house is located right on the Delaware river, providing the perfect opportunity for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Close to the Delaware Canal tow path for bicycle riding and hiking. About 30 minutes to New Hope, Lambertsville and Doylestown. Families with children will want to visit Sesame Place and the Crayola Factory.
