Comments from our Guest Book!

  • 5 of 5

Hello! We wanted to share some comments by our guests from the past several years:

~ "We've again enjoyed another few weeks at your fab home. Eighth year and counting. It has become an indelible part of our children's childhood memories!" (July 2014)

~ "Thanks for an awesome [June] weekend . . . We had a blast! Your house is so quaint & beautiful & so much space. I love the history here & the porch. I so wish we had stayed longer" (June 2014)

~ "Thank you! We loved being here ... once again" (August 2013, 5th summer)

~ "Thanks so much for sharing your slice of heaven with us. This is our second year & our "city kids" find your yard & playhouse & books so magical! And of course, the tree swing! We hope to be back for many years -- as long as you are willing to share :) (September 2012, and they did come back!)

~ "We are so blessed to have found this cottage where we visit year after year. Thank you." (August 2012)

~ "Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us this summer! We have vacationed in Union Pier for the past 9 years and we feel, by far, this is now our favorite location. The house, the yard, the porch, the toys, the well-stocked kitchen -- all made the week enjoyable and easy. We just felt like a week wasn't enough time to enjoy it all!" (July 2012)

~ "Thank you for your attention to design & organization. It is obvious that this is a loved home. We hope to experience it again in the future" (Labor Day, 2011)

Perfect vacation house

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect house for our large family, six adults and four small children (all under 6). The kids loved the swing, big fenced yard and all the toys (legos) and games. The little boys loved sleeping on the cots and toasting marshmallows over the fire pit.We had a hard time getting them to the beach! the adults loved the extra large porch. We shared family dinners out there every night, the table was large enough for all ten of us.The house was half way between the grocery and beach and we could walk to both.

What a nice place!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this cottage for a week in August last summer. It was so nice! The interior was freshly painted and the décor is simple and tasteful. The inside has a cottage-y feel (light and airy) but functions like a house in terms of cleanliness, comfort and convenience (Bosch dishwasher and WiFi!).

The cottage is great for families. The whole place was very relaxing (tons of old books for kids and grown-ups, some toys, dvds, ipod docking station, etc -- without being cluttered). The oversized yard includes a big playhouse, sand box, a super tall tree swing, hot tub, outdoor shower and room to run.

We spent most of our time on the beautiful screened porch. It’s big enough to have a large dining table on one end and a comfy seating area at the other, where we played a marathon game of Monopoly. There are also several decks and outdoor seating areas in addition to the screened porch.

I’m kind of a bedding and lighting freak, and appreciated that all the sheets were cotton, the pillows were down, and the blankets seemed new. And there was a nice glow in the evening from the lights throughout the cottage and the porch.

I was a little worried that we’d be too far from the beach (it’s 2 long blocks), but we didn’t mind at all. The yard is such an oasis, we had a hard time pulling ourselves away sometimes (but the beach was gorgeous when we did!) We're already booked for this summer.
