We love this cabin. We stayed for a week during the 4th of July holiday. It was clean and had everything you would need in a house and the owners are great! They answered our phone/text every time we had a question. We were outside all day enjoying the big deck and nice grassy area and in the late evening the kids could go inside and watch movies before bed. Getting to the water/dock was easy with the stairs which was nice for the kids. I loved having the water just a few feet away from the cabin, it was breathtaking at sunset. The only thing I would have liked was a porch light on the deck. They have tiki torches which was nice but just not enough light. We hope to rent again next summer!
While indeed this is a cozy cabin, I feel the need to clarify some things that we felt might be a little misleading. I rented this cabin based on the picture showing the paddle boat. It turned out to not be usable even though the owner insisted it was. It was actually on the lawn when we arrived & when we turned it over, water was leaking in to the floor. When our friends grandkids tried to use it, it sunk to water level. The steering handle was broken off, which made this impossible to use. The cabin was not very clean, so I spent a considerable time cleaning it as my fishing plans did not turn out the way I would have liked. Please keep in mind that while the owners ad says accomodates up to 12 people, it has only 1 bathroom (small shower & toilet). Sleeping quarters fit 5; the couch does not fold out to become a bed, so 12 people for the day would be appropriate. The wood landing in the water abutting the dock walkway is not secured; it rests only on cement blocks so when boaters, waverunners, etc. zoom by, the landing constantly came off the blocks, making getting on to the dock itself very dangerous. The ladder on the swimming dock as shown in the picture, actually does not have any rungs on it, so getting on to the swimming dock is for young, strong people only. Our experience was not what we had hoped for and I will take the "high road" by saying perhaps my conversations with the owner were misunderstood.
We stayed at this cabin over Labor Day weekend and had such a fun and relaxing time! This was one of the cleanest lake cabins I've ever stayed at- I didn't find a web anywhere. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked with any tool or gadget you might need. Great outdoor space. I highly recommend this place for your next family lake getaway.
We just returned from a long weekend at the cabin. We had a really nice time and the weather was great! The house is well stocked with just about everything one would need for time away at the lake. The views from the deck are beautiful and we enjoyed some quality family time swimming, tubing and wake boarding during the day and playing games and sitting by the fire at night. The kids enjoyed camping at night!
We did not know the dock was partially submerged underwater (and appear to have been that way for quite some time) and are slippery. Hopefully it will be repaired soon.
The owners are very nice and prompt when answering questions before arrival. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We hope to return again next summer. :)
Nine of my girl friends and I stayed here for the weekend. The cabin was cute and cozy and filled with everything we needed for the weekend!! The dock was perfect for swimming! I would reccomend anyone an everyone to stay here! We had a blast and we would like to make it a yearly trip! Also the renters are super nice and friendly! Thank you Chris!!
Great cabin! We enjoyed our stay here on Loon Lake. The cabin is right on the water, the views were breathtaking at dawn and dusk, a very serene setting. Loved the grassy lawn facing the lake. The deck is raised and huge, lots of tables and chairs, with tiki torches. Located in a quiet cove with calm waters, it's great for water sports. We had our boat here, skied and wake-boarded. The docks are big and practical, including a swimming dock. Privacy was great, on both sides of the cabin, the lawn on one side is large and we put up a tent outside for extra guests, although there is lots of room to sleep throughout the cabin, besides the bedrooms. The warm country decor was relaxing and comfortable for our family and friends. We liked it so much, we'll be back next year.
