Log Gap Cabin was built with logs that were hand-hewed in the 1800s. This cabin is only 15 miles to downtown Asheville and to the Biltmore Estate. Four- wheel drive is required year around because of the steepness of the mountain and the ground clearance for the large water breaks.
This peaceful retreat has a bedroom loft with a queen bed, and there is a Day Bed in the Living Room. Relax in the comfort of Egyptian Cotton Linens.
This kitchen has everything you need – a bread-maker, a coffee maker, a blender, a toaster, dishware, cookware, & utensils. There is WIFI, a flat-screen TV with a Blu-ray DVD player, and a phone (for local calls only). Soak your cares away in the four-person hot tub under the stars.
There are plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy nature – a screened-in porch with a wrought iron table set, a deck with four rocking chairs, and a flagstone patio with a grill & seating. The front porch is made of wide-planed pine boards (18”).

After retiring from a 33 year career in sales management/ marketing, we visited our eldest daughter Etta and fell in love with Asheville. We moved to the Asheville Area in 2002 and lived in the house that became our first rental, “Our House.” Soon to follow, came our youngest daughter, Farris, and her now husband Danny. In 2009 their daughter Aylssa arrived, making this a true family business.
We fell in love with Asheville and all it has to offer. We then decided to share the beauty of the Asheville Area and the hospitality of the Smokey Mountains with others. “Our House” and “My Roundette” were on the property when we originally bought it. Both have since been remodeled. We then purchased additional land and built “My Place,” “The Huntley,” and “The Garden Cabin.” “Log Gap” and “Prayer Ridge” were both bought at separate locations. Both were extensively remodeled.
By staying here, you are nestled into all of the beautiful natural settings in this peaceful cove.
While being very private and close to nature, you are still afforded all of the conveniences of technology and are located near all this area has to offer. Truly a place to come and renew yourself. Kick back, relax, and have a true retreat or a wonderful place to land after an exhausting day of fun.
What a beautiful house, with breathtaking views! We enjoyed every minute of our stay and the surrounding amenities! We even got the men to abandon the football games ! Thanks for making our mountain getaway the perfect weekend.
Loved this property. We enjoyed riding up the off-road driveway! Very quiet and secluded. The house is beautiful, they have preserved the log cabin feel but with modern upgrades to make you feel comfy. Eclectic decor abounds and the hot tub was clean and fantastic.
Definitely want to return!!!!!
Note to owner: did you find any headphones? We left them:(
Wonderful cabin, mix of rustic and remodeled. We loved how quiet and private it was. Drive isn't that bad with all wheel drive
My husband and i booked this place for our honeymoon and were a bit disappointed with our experience. We had so much fun exploring the town that we left happy but the cabin itself was a disappointment. We had to go to walmart to pick up a set of sheets because the ones provided smelled so musty they were impossible to sleep on. Turns out the sheets didnt help much as the entire upper floor smelled horrible. So much for romance. We brought some movies to cuddle up on the couch to at night but the sound on the tv worked about 60 percent of the time and kept cutting out. The hot tub was nice but when you try to change the temp it does not work. All in all, pretty disappointed with our stay and wish we had booked a different cabin for such a special occasion. The sink also kept clogging and the instructions told us to not leave any dishes in the sink when we left but the owner left us no dish soap. Hope this is helpful.
The road to the cabin is steep in places, which could pose a challenge to some cars, but the reward is at the end of the road! The cabin was well stocked with wood, cooking essentials, etc. The authentic logs gave the cabin a rustic feel than cannot be duplicated with modern cabin kits. The screened in porch allows you to experience the quiet surroundings. The air was cool even with high temps in the valley and we were able to comfortably sit by the fireplace in July. Asheville is close, you can be downtown in minutes. Recommended!
as advertised, this cabin is beautiful, rustic, private but is perfect for a "retreat" away from it all. Although the access road is a bit of a challenge it is not a problem if you have ever driven dirt roads before and have a 4 wheel drive. I would not recommend trying to find it the first time at night but once you have made it to the cabin it is well worth it.
We wanted to have a private get away and this was perfect. If you are planning a lot of "in and out" touring, this may not be the right place. However we loved every minute of it.
