Great location and amazing beach. The apartment was clean, the air conditioning was great, and we felt very safe and comfortable. I don't generally like cooking on electric stoves, but this one seemed to heat more quickly and evenly than my gas range at home -- I was impressed! The kitchen was perfect for our needs and had everything we needed to cook and eat. Check-in and check-out were a cinch.
Finding a private spot on the beach was as easy as making a right and walking past the beach volleyball net.
The condo could use some very minor repairs (small crack on the front door rigged with a screw and bath tub faucets moved a little bit). Also, there were no beach towels when we arrived, even at the condo's storage unit (which had beach chairs and other goodies), but there were tons of bath towels, perfect for my girlfriend who is a habitual towel over-user. I'm sure the lack of beach towels was an oversight on the part of the management company and not the owner; it's nothing that was worth calling anyone for us -- we just bought souvenir towels a 5-minute drive away and took them home with us. The condo is priced aggressively, for a 2-bedroom on this wonderful beach, which makes it very easy for me to not take a star away from my rating for these very minor items -- I'm only noting them to set the expectations for future visitors, so that the owner can possibly exceed them in the future.
The beach was amazing; very clear turquoise and almost as still as a lake, unless there's wind and a storm, in which case the waves are fun but still manageable without breaking a sweat. This is a great beach to teach kids how to swim and play with them. Getting in and out of the water took some effort for my older family members, who are 75+, but we were careful with them as they stepped in and out -- once they were in, they had a blast.
There were manatee and dolphin sightings at the deep end of the beach; you don't have to be as adventurous as me if you prefer to stay shallow. Bring your best camera for the sunsets, your snorkeling gear and GoPro for the big sea life. Nearby shops had plenty of goodies to prepare for breakfast and lunch -- we had dinners out and used Yelp to help us find the most delicious meals.
Why are you still reading this?!? Hurry up and book the condo before someone else takes your dates!!! Or better yet, book it and invite me back; I'll split the price with you for one of the rooms ;-P It's worth it . . .
I would recommend this condo. It was clean and bright and everything worked well. The location is great, right on the beach and so close to town but within the South Seas so you can ride bikes throughout the resort. I highly recommend renting bikes if you are physically able. It's a great way to get around Captiva and it gave our three teenagers some freedom. We were not able to use any of the amenities at the resort but you really don't need them.
This property was beautiful with a gorgeous outlook on the beach and resort's pool. Every evening I was able to step onto the porch or walk a few steps toward the beach to see a spectacular sunset view. The interior was extremely cozy; I had no problem taking naps on the plush sofa and chairs. The kitchen had plenty of room to make three course meals everyday. I definitely recommend this location to everyone and cannot wait to reserve it in the future!
The condo was lovely. Well stocked with towels, kitchen items and clean. It was nice to have the use of beach chairs and other beach items. The owner was very helpful and always responded to all my questions. We will rent again!
We had a great time, this condo is perfectly located, near beach, restaurants and warm pools. We felt very safe in this beautiful, clean, peaceful condo and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable vacation. We parked the car and spent most of the week walking to nearby restaurants and shopping, very relaxing. Great for kids with two warm pools and beach exceptionally close. Ocean view has our family still talking about this awesome holiday, the kind of place you would love to come back to year after year!
This condo was just as advertised. The condo was very nice, well furnished and maintained. Everything we needed was available. The kitchen was newly remodeled with new appliances and counter tops. All the kitchen utensils, dishes, glasses, cups, pots and pans were furnished for any meal someone would want to prepare. The other furnishings were nice and well maintained. Books and movies of good quality were also provided. I certainly do not understand any previous complaints.
The area is incredible with so many activities, restaurants and scenery. The beach is readily accessible. The swimming pool is very nice and warm. Overall it would be impossible to overstate what a wonderful place this is to vacation. I highly recommend this condo and Captiva Island for one of best vacation experiences possible. So much to do yet so relaxing.
