About Connie Tye

My name is Connie and I met & married my husband Tony while we were both active duty Army. Tony works on helicopters and I work for the Custer YMCA. We share many hobbies and interests. We are both avid target shooters. I enjoy running and hiking in the Black Hills while Tony has a penchant for fishing. We have four children who keep us hopping.

Connie Tye purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Connie Tye chose Black Hills

It is the perfect spot! Centrally located in the Black Hills, close to town and off the beaten path enough to be secluded but not isolated.

What makes this cabin unique

We have awesome views from both our home and the cabin! My favorite is winter. The trees are coated with snow. It is almost magical. In the spring, when a storm rolls through, the fog cascades down the mountain until we are enveloped in it. Beautiful!

Comfortable cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at the Hidden Valley cabins! Connie had thiught of everything and my family of 4 (2kids) enjoyed resting and making memories on our trip to SD! Only a few minutes away from Custer State park or downtown Custer the location was great to be away from all of the hussel or other campers. We truly felt like we could relax and enjoy the wind coming through the trees. I'd definitely recommend staying here to friends & family!

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our vacation. It's a few miles out of Custer, so you feel like you're out in the woods, but still close to town if you need anything. It was centrally located to almost everything we wanted to do. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed to cook with. Connie was very helpful and informative about the area. We had a great stay!

51st annual buffalo roundup

  • 5 of 5

Great little cabin that accommodated my pregnant wife and I, our 3 children, and my mother in law for our Black Hills vacation. Great location out of the way but close enough we were able to check out Wind Cave National Park, Devils Tower National Monument, Badlands National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, and the highlight of the trip was the 51st annual Buffalo Roundup in Custer State Park and my boys and I's hike to the top of Harney Peak. Perfect time to go to the Black Hills if you're not looking to be packed in to huge crowds. The cabin was a great place to come back to each night. Connie made herself available for any questions and needs we had. The surrounding forest was pretty cool to check out by just walking from the cabin and hiking around. The cabin was clean and reasonably priced. Will return if we vacation that way again.

The Soliday's from Omaha NE

  • 5 of 5

My husband found this cabin while looking online just to see what accommodations were available. In the past we have stayed at Blue Belle in Custer State Park. Custer has been a family tradition for the last 19+ years and this cabin has got to be our favorite place to stay. We have a very energetic 3 year old and the fact that there was NO traffic for us to worry about was awesome. He could run, play and just have a great time. As far as the cabin, they have done a great job in making it comfortable and enjoyable. They really thought of everything (even items you wouldn’t think you would need). I love how close it is to town and other attractions. We are already talking about next year’s vacation and this cabin is at the top of the list for places to stay.

Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were on our first visit to South Dakota. Our Hidden Valley Cabin was close to major points of interest and made sightseeing very easy. The cabin was neat, clean and in good repair. Connie was very helpful, when needed, but not intrusive. We enjoyed the wildlife that wandered into the yard, the peace and quiet and the night sky. The secluded, yet close to town location made everything very convenient.
