We are walkers, bicyclists and hikers and have enjoyed Bisbee and Tucson for years. One of us has a gluten allergy, both of us love good food and have been glad to find fabulous food and accommodations for dietary needs easily in Old Bisbee.
sarahdorrance purchased this studio in 2011
We love Old Bisbee! It is one of our favorite places on Earth. We love the ease of taking day trips from Old Bisbee. We love the desert, the uniqueness of its flora and fauna. We enjoy the great food, the people, architecture, history, and especially the art. We love Pride, the Blues Festival, the stairs and the Bisbee 1000 stair run, the Theater Company and 'especially For the Love of Music', a group that presents four musical shows a year, very near Sun Country Studio. It's a great place to get away to!
It's cozy, it's cute, it is so Old Bisbee! It has a private deck with an awesome view of the canyon, chairs and a pine tree for shade. Sun Country Studio is just a 5 minute walk to shops, food and a 10-15 minute walk to historical downtown Old Bisbee.
This awesome little place I describe as like living aboard a sailboat. Perfect size for two people. Low ceilings, comfy bed, little kitchenette, compact efficient bathroom (toilet and shower in one little closet). You can walk to everything, including an awesome High Desert Market for yummy supplies and breakfast down the street, pizza and the best margaritas around at the Screaming Banshee across from it. Walking the Bisbee 1000 race course is a perfect way to see much of the local art and architecture and get some exercise. Highly recommended for a couple wanting a one-two night getaway. Thank you Sarah and Dave for everything. Sorry about the key thing!!!!!
My wife and I spent one night here and had a super relaxing quiet time. We were lucky enough that the upstairs wasn't rented, so we spent some time on the verandah, drinking coffee and talking. The room is slightly taller than 6' tall and the toilet is actually in the shower, but we did not find either of these things to be an issue - everything else about the room was well appointed. Also - being a small environment meant that packing up for us was a piece of cake. Sarah, who brought us to our place was great! Just one note - be careful to back into the parking spot due to its design.
This was perfect for a last minute romantic getaway. The property manager was great! I got us lost three times on the way there and she was very nice and helpful when I kept calling to get back on track. The walk to town and back was nice and relaxing. Perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the city. We'll definitely be back.
We had another great stay at Sun Country! Couldn't have been happier! We love the great walk to downtown and back, lots to see along the way! We brought a small camp stove and some kitchen supplies to make most of our meals while we were visiting, their kitchen had everything else we needed! The bathroom is so cool, it reminds me of when I used to go boating when I was growing up! They made great use of this small space. Sarah was very friendly, helpful and easy to contact when we had questions. We didn't want to leave at the end of our trip, it was a great getaway and I suggest this place to anyone who wants to visit bisbee!
We adored this charming little place. It was so much fun sitting on the deck and enjoying the beautiful weather. We parked and walked the rest of the weekend; It's an easy walk to town and to great restaurants. The owner and property manager were both delightful to work with. We are planning on returning!
Delightful, but small. The only problem was that I am 6'4" tall and the ceiling was 6'2" high!
Old Bisbee has a lovely community pool with slide that is great for large picnics or BBQ's.We also have a fabulous theater group, that performs regularly. 'For the Love of Music' presents 4 times a year excellent music, with musicians from around the world. In January 2014 The Joseph Wytko Saxophone Quartet played classical saxophone music that was out of this world! Of course there are great restaurants, drinks, art, music, theater, protests, Pride and so much more.
