About Walter Barnard
This little cabin has been in our family for years. It has waterfront views, and offers quiet solitude away from it all. We use it for family overflow when the relatives come calling and are also happy to rent it as people request.
Why Walter Barnard chose Northport
Located on the mid coast of beautiful Maine, this cabin offers an opportunity for a budget vacation in Northport, near Bayside, and allows you the opportunity to explore a beautiful state during peak vacation season at a reasonable price. There are ample places to sail or swim, hike, bike fish, sight see, or find lighthouses. Or, enjoy the wonderful local restaurants, mid coast events, and nature's offerings.
It’s not for everyone, but we enjoyed it
Gotta be fair, we were probably the last guests for the season and our main observation is that it was cold when we arrived. Space heater did it’s job, but it took a bit. The bathroom is a bit of a challenge, we did not use the shower.
All that being said, the view of the sunrise made this a five star property and well worth any shortcomings it might have. Very comfortable deck and yes, we’d come back in a heart beat
Cute little cabin
When we first got to the cabin, it was late and getting dark. I was not too impressed. The next morning I woke to a beautiful view of the bay! The cabin itself is small and rustic, but has everything you need. Bring your own pillows. The bathroom is tiny and needs a little work. All the amenities were there and we found it to be very comfortable and cozy
Sweet cozy cabin by the sea
The cabin was small but had all the amenities needed for a few overnites. We were fogged in the whole time so didn’t get a chance to use the wonderful deck overlooking the sea. Nice well equipped kitchen. It was very quiet and peaceful so good sleeping and the bed was very comfortable. Walter was there if needed and explained everything very clearly.
the little red cabin was great
Everything about my 5 days in ME at the Little Red Cabin went without a hitch. The cabin was ready when I arrived, very tidy, and exactly as described online. I had a great time in Northport and would return again in the future.
Great view and homey little cabin
We grew quite fond of this little cabin while we stayed here for 3 nights recently. We LOVE the area, and there is a new restaurant close by called Hoots that was amazing. The cabin is an old fashioned Maine camp with an incredible view of the ocean. The kitchen is easy to cook in and the bed is super comfortable. It is a very small cabin and we were a little surprised that there is no living area and the bed is in the middle of what would be the living room if there were an actual bedroom. I have not seen that mentioned in any of the comments and it is listed as a one bedroom/one bathroom. The bathroom is really small but it works. After the first little bit, though, we were very happy with everything and pleased that we stayed here. It has true Maine charm!
Quintessential Maine cottage
Best deck in the world! We loved the Little Red House and hope to return soon!
