About Barbara Kellogg
I moved to Eureka Springs almost 30 years visiting this charming village on vacation. Like many of my friends and neighbors, I fell in love with Eureka Springs; and just had to move here! ( might too!) There's no place on earth, (and I've traveled all over this country as well as Europe, Mexico and India), like Eureka Springs! I consider myself very lucky to live here....I truly adore it here!
Barbara Kellogg purchased this Cottage in 1999
Why Barbara Kellogg chose Eureka Springs
On a vacation many years ago, I hiked up to a charming hidden Eureka Springs neighborhood. I felt like I had found a little place like no I had come home. I made myself a silent promise that I would live on this hidden magical road someday. I did move to Eureka Springs several years later and bought a big Victorian house that I turned into The Heartstone Inn. A few years later, I decided to look for a little cottage for realtor said...'why don't you buy my house since I've decided to move' took me up to a hidden little Eureka Springs neighborhood and to a magical road with an enchanted cottage I had dreamed of, waiting just for me!

Fun! Felt like I was staying with Bilbo Baggins. Very unique and very Ureka Springs eclectic.
Little cottage decorated with antiques, crystals, cute decorations....windows everywhere...Neat stair railings...little seated areas all over.
It was fun watching the sun come up. You could walk into downtown by a staircase down the street. Was a fun experience....
a couple of negatives:
scared to work the microwave(very very old);
owner lives in the house when its not rented...so Frig was full of food and we were advised that it was all hers. Which is fine...but most VRBO rentals have some staples(coffee etc), for guests and we did not feel comfortable touching anything. All closets were locked, so we had to find a nail to hang our dress clothes on. Jacuzzi jets were out, it was hot water, but not what we were expecting. I guess tweaking those above items would be nice considering we paid $575.00 for 2 nights.
Thanks again for staying with us, Melinda...and for your many compliments about our charming eclectic place...the windows and all the sunshine, easy access to the downtown, and especially loved your comment about Bilbo Baggins...my favorite...how fun!!! Yes, food in the fridge.. welcome to anything there, (usually a bowl of apples, coffee and creamer and honey, jam, peanut butter, eggs, etc!)...the microwave does work just like any other, but yes, it is "vintage"...also, available the unlocked closet right next to the bathroom filled with clothes hangers just for you!...and the relaxing "un-jetted soaking hot-tub" in the tree-tops"! Of the $575 you paid, $64.12 was taxes (Eureka Springs sales tax for accommodations is 14.375%) and $53. was a fee to Home Away! Best Wishes to you, Melinda...I appreciate and will take all your suggestions to heart! Thanks, again Barbara
I loved my Enchanted Cottage!!!
We could not have been happier, very cozy cottage, hot tub in the trees, close to town.
The cottage is close to everything, perfect weekend getaway, all the amenities you need for a wonderful stay. The cottage was clean and enchanting. Barbara could not have been more friendly, told us about all the best restaurants and things to do. Thank you we will return
Quiet, romantic hideaway but close to town
Our stay in the Birdsong cabin was quaint and quiet. We loved the evenings in the hot tub and it was only a few minutes walk to main shopping. Loved the entrance of the place and inside was very unique. We would stay again.
Oh, Thank you so so much for your kind words...we are so lucky to have such wonderful guests! Glad you enjoyed the private hot-tub as well as the cottage location! We will look forward to seeing you again soon!
Best Wishes, Barbara
Lovely Getaway Cottage
We stayed in the Windchime cottage. My boyfriend (well, now he's my fiance! He asked me to marry him while we were at the cottage) and I both work grueling, mentally-intensive jobs with long hours. We were able to completely relax and unwind at this cottage. Barbara was great and she also had great dining recommendations. I highly recommend this cottage if you are wanting a relaxing getaway!
Oh.....Congratulations to you both!!! It was such a pleasure to have you stay with us; and I'm so excited to know you got engaged at Windchime...how romantic! Best Wishes to you both!!!
My wife and I stayed here for our 1 year wedding anniversary and couldn't of been more pleased with our experience. Barbara was very quick at getting back to us about our stay and then met us there as soon as we arrived. She was so helpful about pointing out restaurants and things to do since it was our first time in Eureka Springs. The cottage itself was even more adorable in person than it was in the pictures, we were very pleased. We had more than enough space. Although it was hot out we still got some use out of te private hot tub in the evening after the sun went down. I really enjoyed that the Windchime cottage had it's own driveway so we didn't have to park on the side of the very small gravel street. It was super close to the downtown loop, we chose to drive mostly because it was so hot when we were there but it would have been an alright walk as well if you choose to walk into town. But I would highly recommend staying with Barbra and Enchanted Cottages!
Thanks so much for this great review...and thanks for being such awesome guests! We so appreciate the care you took of our second home! Hope to see this gracious couple back soon!
