I moved to Eureka Springs almost 30 years ago.....after visiting this charming village on vacation. Like many of my friends and neighbors, I fell in love with Eureka Springs; and just had to move here! (warning...you might too!) There's no place on earth, (and I've traveled all over this country as well as Europe, Mexico and India), like Eureka Springs! I consider myself very lucky to live here....I truly adore it here!
Barbara Kellogg purchased this cottage in 1989
On a vacation many years ago, I hiked up to a charming hidden Eureka Springs neighborhood. I felt like I had found a little place like no other...like I had come home. I made myself a silent promise that I would live on this hidden magical road someday. I did move to Eureka Springs several years later and bought a big Victorian house that I turned into The Heartstone Inn. A few years later, I decided to look for a little cottage for myself.....my realtor said...'why don't you buy my house since I've decided to move'.....she took me up to a hidden little Eureka Springs neighborhood and to a magical road with an enchanted cottage I had dreamed of, waiting just for me!
I'm pretty sure this special place will steal your heart away!
Our stay in the Birdsong cabin was quaint and quiet. We loved the evenings in the hot tub and it was only a few minutes walk to main shopping. Loved the entrance of the place and inside was very unique. We would stay again.
We stayed in the Windchime cottage. My boyfriend (well, now he's my fiance! He asked me to marry him while we were at the cottage) and I both work grueling, mentally-intensive jobs with long hours. We were able to completely relax and unwind at this cottage. Barbara was great and she also had great dining recommendations. I highly recommend this cottage if you are wanting a relaxing getaway!
My wife and I stayed here for our 1 year wedding anniversary and couldn't of been more pleased with our experience. Barbara was very quick at getting back to us about our stay and then met us there as soon as we arrived. She was so helpful about pointing out restaurants and things to do since it was our first time in Eureka Springs. The cottage itself was even more adorable in person than it was in the pictures, we were very pleased. We had more than enough space. Although it was hot out we still got some use out of te private hot tub in the evening after the sun went down. I really enjoyed that the Windchime cottage had it's own driveway so we didn't have to park on the side of the very small gravel street. It was super close to the downtown loop, we chose to drive mostly because it was so hot when we were there but it would have been an alright walk as well if you choose to walk into town. But I would highly recommend staying with Barbra and Enchanted Cottages!
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Hideaway cottage which was small but cozy. It had everything we needed for a comfortable 3 night stay. A natural spring was right across the street, and the location was great. A 5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants downtown, so eliminated problem parking downtown. It is perfect for a couple's get-away weekend. Very romantic!
Perfect place for my wife and I to stay during a quick two day trip to eureka springs. We walked to downtown eureka springs for dinner each night and enjoyed the quiet of being up the mountain a short ways. Will definitely try to stay here again on our next trip!
My wife and I stayed at the Windchime Cottage this past weekend (Oct 25-27, 2014) and had a wonderful time! The cottage was well stocked and very cozy. Everything was clean, the bed was wonderful and the private hot tub on the deck was divine! Barbara met us there and was very helpful the whole time. Downtown was a just a stair case away that the locals call Jacob's ladder. Sure it was up and down walking but everything in Eureka Springs is either up or down! It was much better than having to fight the traffic and find a parking place for sure! We'll definitely be back!
